—description de l’éditeur

Présentation de la campagne

Overview

What's in the box

1863: Marsala Express has been conceived with high spec production quality. It will combine carefully selected materials, printed wooden pieces, dedicated trays for tiles and certificates, and artwork created specifically to give the game the character of 19th-century Sicily. The result is intended to feel substantial, elegant and distinctive on the table — a complete edition designed with collectors and long-term 18xx players in mind.

Note: all game components, artwork and product renders shown on this page are work in progress and may be subject to change. Final colours, materials, dimensions, layout and component appearance may differ slightly from those shown, while preserving the intended functionality and overall production quality.

Storage Solution

Everything has its place. Two dedicated trays keep the track tiles sorted and ready to play, while a third organises the company certificates. All three trays are stackable and designed to fit neatly inside the game box, turning setup and packing away into a matter of moments. Less time sorting components, less clutter on the table, and a smoother game from the very first Operating Round.

Add-ons

Play Money

Play Money is included in the game in the form of 2mm thick cardboard chips. A total of L. 9,000 in the following denominations: 20 L.10, 20 L.20, 10 L.50, 15 L.100, 12 L.200, 8 L.500 plus an additional set of small change for 1850jr: 24 L.5, 26 L.2, 28 L.1. We believe cardboard money is better than paper money and has a similar feeling to poker chips. This set can be used to play other games of course.

Backers who prefer not to include the play money in their games will be able to exclude this component in the pledge manager. Backers who want to purchase additional sets of cardboard money will also be able to do so in the pledge manager.

Additional Tile Trays

1863 track tiles have a 22mm hex side which is pretty common across the 18xx hobby. Backers who want to purchase additional sets of plastic trays will also be able to do so in the pledge manager.

Shipping

Shipping will be charged separately in the Pledge Manager, closer to fulfilment.

This allows us to use the most up-to-date shipping rates rather than asking backers to estimate costs many months in advance.

Our current plan is to fulfil the campaign through three regional hubs:

  • 🇬🇧 United Kingdom
  • 🇪🇺 European Union
  • 🇺🇸 United States

Using regional fulfilment partners helps reduce shipping costs, speeds up delivery and, where possible, minimises customs issues for backers.

We are committed to keeping shipping charges as low as we reasonably can. However, freight costs, fuel prices, exchange rates, tariffs and international trade conditions can all change significantly between the campaign and fulfilment. For that reason, we cannot guarantee shipping prices at this stage.

The table below shows our current estimated shipping costs for one copy of the game, based on quotations received from our fulfilment partners and our experience from previous crowdfunding campaigns. These figures are indicative only and will be confirmed in the Pledge Manager before shipping begins.

Delivery to Russia or Brazil may not be available for this campaign. Additional destinations may be excluded where our fulfilment partners cannot provide a supported delivery service.

There will be an opportunity to pick up your pledge at selected Conventions we will attend in 2027. Information will be provided closer to fulfilment.

Taxes

Taxes are not included in your pledge and will be calculated in the Pledge Manager according to your shipping destination. We will use Kickstarter’s integrated Pledge Manager tax system, which operates as a marketplace facilitator and calculates the applicable taxes based on the information provided by each backer. Kickstarter automatically collects applicable sales tax in the United States and indirect taxes in Canada, and its Pledge Manager can collect VAT for rewards shipped to the EU and UK. The amount charged will therefore depend on the applicable rules and tax rate for your declared shipping location.
