Adaptable Encounters 4th Compendium

After the release of our previous compendiums, we continue expanding the Adaptable Encounters line with a new collection of scenarios designed to be easy to run, flexible, and ready to drop into any campaign.

This campaign introduces the 4th Adaptable Encounters Compendium, along with two new digital editions:

• Adaptable Encounters: Greek Mythology
• Adaptable Encounters: Dragons

What is Adaptable Encounters?

Adaptable Encounters is a tool that allows the Game Master to quickly introduce meaningful scenes into their game with little to no preparation.

Each encounter presents a situation involving the player characters and suggests how the scene may unfold. It also describes different ways to integrate the encounter into ongoing adventures, making it easy to adapt to any setting or party.

Each volume contains:

• 10 adaptable encounters (1 or two pages long each)
• Monster statblocks for each creature featured in the encounters

The goal is simple: give you something you can run immediately, without prep, while still feeling like part of your world.

The 4th Compendium

This new hardcover compendium gathers the latest Adaptable Encounters volumes into a single book, covering a wide range of themes and locations, from castles and ruins to frozen wilderness and mythic threats.

This compendium includes the following volumes:

New Digital Editions

This campaign also includes two brand new volumes available digitally. These two volumes are included in all tiers, including the digital-only tier:

Encounters inspired by classic myths, legendary creatures, and divine conflicts. These scenarios bring mythological themes into your campaign in a way that remains flexible and easy to run.

Encounters centered around dragons, their influence, and the dangers they bring. These range from direct confrontations to indirect threats tied to their presence.

However, the 1st Compendium is already printed and ready to be shipped, that one will be shipped, for this one you don't have to pay the printing cost, only the shipping at the ND Hobbies store.

This tier contains everything in the Compendium Collection tier, plus all the available digital editions of Adaptable Encounters, those are 36 volumes for 5th edition, and six volumes for Shadowdark (that includes the new ones). Includes everything in the Catch-up Bundle tier, plus the hardcover Micro Dungeons First Annual Compendium (with over 50 ready to play dungeons), and the hardcover and digital PDF of Bestiarium: Scales & Decay (with over 300 monster, over 350 full color pages). Just like the Adaptable Encounters 1st Compendium these two hardcovers are printed and ready to be shipped, and you won't have to pay the printing for these, only the shipping cost at the ND Hobbies store.

Print on Demand

For this 4th compendium, just like the second and third compendiums, we chose to make it available in Print on Demand. 

How it works:

• During the campaign, you pledge a fixed amount for the book
• After delivery, you receive a Print on Demand code
• You then complete your order on DriveThruRPG by paying the printing cost and shipping
• Printing costs may vary slightly, but based on previous proofs, they are expected to be between 23 and 25usd. So for this new book you'll pay 20 usd here and around 25usd in DrivethruRPG for a total of 45usd for the new hard cover, full color compendium.

This approach allows us to deliver the book faster and avoid long manufacturing delays.
