A Game of Periodic Elements
Sum (v.) matters.
Sum (n.) matters.
118 elements.
118 premium cards.
Here’s a cool formula we discovered:
periodic table + top game = periodic tabletop game
Addtomic is a 3–6 player card game where every card represents a real chemical element, and every atomic number has a value that matters in play.
No chemistry test required.
Just play the elements, add the numbers, and outthink the table.
It is a physical game about chemical elements, involving a little bit of math. But really, it’s designed for fun.

⚛️ The Periodic Table
The Periodic Table was already a game Board.
Hydrogen is 1.
Carbon is 6.
Gold is 79.
Oganesson is 118.
Those numbers have always been there.
We simply asked:
What if you could play with them?
Addtomic turns all 118 periodic elements into a deck of cards. Each element keeps its real symbol, atomic number, and chemical group — then those properties become part of the game.

🎯 How Addtomic Works
Your goal is simple:
Get rid of your cards.
On your turn, play an element — or a series of elements from the same chemical group.
Add their atomic numbers together.
Your play must beat the active series.
So a high atomic number can be powerful on its own, while several lower-valued elements may become stronger together.
The numbers are fixed. Your strategy isn’t.
🥳 Chemistry Without the Homework
Addtomic was designed as a game first.
You don't need to memorize the periodic table before playing. You don't need to know chemical equations. And nobody is going to quiz you on electron configurations.
Instead, familiarity happens naturally.
Play a few games and you begin recognizing:
H. Fe. Ag. Au. Xe. U.
You start noticing which elements belong together.
Their atomic numbers may start to stick.
Not because the game told you to study them;
but because those things help you play.
🎴 Every Element Is Here
We didn't make a shortened “greatest hits” version of the periodic table.
Addtomic includes all 118 currently named elements, from Hydrogen to Oganesson.
That means every set contains:
- 118 unique element cards
- 6 Addbaci for analog addition during play
- 1 rule book
Each element card measures 8 × 8 cm, made from approximately 300gsm cardstock with a matte finish.

🧮 Meet the Addbacus
Yes, we made an analog calculator for Addtomic.
We are nicknaming it "Desert Island Calculator."
It’s essentially an abacus built specifically for Addtomic’s in-game addition.
Each set includes six Addbaci, so players can keep track of atomic-number sums without reaching for a phone or conventional calculator.
No electricity is needed.

👓 Easy to Read
Each chemical group has its own visual identity.
Color makes the groups immediately recognizable, while symbols provide a second identifier, so the game does not depend on color alone.
The cards were also designed to work beyond gameplay.
Lay all 118 out together and the deck becomes a full periodic-table display.
Play with the cards.
Study them like flashcards.
Frame them.
Put them on a wall.
How many sets do you want? We’ll let you do the math.
💯 Why “Sum Matters”?
Because in Addtomic, the sum matters.
Because you sum matters.
And because the deck contains some of the fundamental matter our world is made from.
We like names that reward a second look.
Addtomic is one of them.
🧪 From Prototype to Table
Addtomic isn't just an idea or a collection of digital mockups.
We've already produced physical prototypes and put the game through real play-testing.
That process helped us refine the rules, test the card format, and discover the small situations that only become obvious when actual people are sitting around a table trying to beat one another.
Now we're bringing the finished concept to Gamefound so we can produce Addtomic at a larger scale and put the complete periodic table into more hands.
👨👩👧👦 Who Is Addtomic For?
Addtomic is for people who like games.
It's also for people who like numbers, patterns, science, chemistry, unusual objects, clever gifts, and things that make someone across the room ask:
“Wait, is that a periodic-table card game?”
You don't have to be a chemist.
But chemists are certainly invited.
118 Elements.
118 Cards.
Countless Ways to Play Them.
