Hello, my name is Alex i am a solo developer and i want to build my dream game. I am thinking to start a devlog on youtube. Please let me know in comments if you find this idea interesting and want to see more about the developing process.

You wake in an unknown land.
The air is different.
The ground feels familiar yet wrong.
The people look like you… but they are not from your realm.
They call themselves Commoners, and they do not trust Outlanders.
They’ve seen a few appear from rifts before—
some friendly, some dangerous, all unpredictable.
Here, no one offers help.
No one explains the rules.
No one welcomes you.
So you start the only way possible:
- hunt for food
- gather what you can
- build a shelter
- explore the region
- learn which plants feed you and which ones kill you
- notice strange ruins and unfamiliar wildlife
- survive long enough to understand where you are
You are alone at first…
but the world is alive, shifting, and full of events beyond your control.
Some regions fall into danger, some grow safer, depending on who acts.
You can ignore everything and focus on survival—
or approach the Commoners, earn trust, and shape their land.
This is your beginning.
Not heroic. Not destined. Not scripted.
Just survival in a calm-but-hostile land that doesn’t care if you live or die.
Project Details
Age of Outlanders is a survival RPG colony-strategy game where you begin as a lone adventurer and slowly carve a place for yourself in a harsh, living world.
Hunt, gather, build, craft, explore regions, survive brutal seasons, uncover ancient secrets, and grow from a wandering Outlander into the founder of settlements, strongholds, and a rising kingdom.
This is a game about choice, hardship, and organic progression — where you define your own path in a world that doesn’t revolve around you. There is no scripted beginning, no quest marker telling you what to do. You learn the world the same way real wanderers do: through danger, experience, and the Echo Journal that grows with your discoveries.
A large handcrafted-feeling world generated procedurally at the region level. Every biome plays differently through its resources, fauna, and survival challenges.
You explore regions, enter local maps, gather materials, hunt wildlife, build shelters, craft tools, survive the nights, and grow stronger through your weapon mastery and survival skills.
As you rise in renown, the world shifts. You unlock the ability to build permanent settlements, attract commoners, establish trade routes, open inns, recruit adventurers, expand territories, and ultimately shape your own kingdom — or stay a nomad forever.

Gameplay
🌿 AGE OF OUTLANDERS
The continent is quiet. It has been for generations.
Villagers work their fields, hunters guard their forest trails, and life follows the steady rhythm of seasons.
And then the Outlanders began to appear.
Nobody knows where they come from.
Nobody knows why they arrive.
You are one of them — a stranger with no reputation, no allies, and no place to call home.
People don’t trust you, but they don’t threaten you either.
🌱 This is how your story begins.
You enter the wilderness with nothing but instinct and opportunity.
Food is scarce until you learn the land.
Shelter matters more than gear.
Weather, fatigue, and distance shape your every decision.
Each biome presents danger in its own quiet way:
- some regions lack food
- some choke you with heat or cold
- some hide predators
- some simply wear you down over time
And in that indifference, survival becomes your first test.
⚔️ Events Change the World
Across the land, Events appear — disruptions that the locals can’t handle alone:
- a plague creeping through a village
- a beast stalking a forest path
- a bandit camp growing bolder
- a seasonal shortage that risks famine
- a forgotten ruin emitting strange signs
You may ignore these problems and focus on survival.
NPC Outlanders may try to solve them… or they might make things worse.
Every event left unresolved lowers safety.
Every event handled correctly stabilizes a region.
The continent remembers your choices.
🏕️ From Survival to Settlement
Survival is not the end goal — it is the beginning.
If you endure long enough, people start noticing.
You earn trust.
You earn respect.
And, eventually, you may earn followers.
Future versions of the game will allow you to expand:
- build a permanent camp
- turn it into a homestead
- create an inn at a crossroads
- run caravans and supply chains
- influence entire regions
Your settlement does not replace survival — it strengthens it.
It becomes the foundation for everything you do next.
🌾 WHAT AGE OF OUTLANDERS IS ABOUT
Age of Outlanders focuses on:
✔ Surviving in a peaceful but unforgiving land
The world isn’t evil — it’s just uncaring. Your success comes from learning its rules.
✔ Understanding nature instead of fighting armies
Plants, animals, weather, and seasons form the core of your progression.
✔ Choosing which problems matter to you
Events appear everywhere, but you decide which ones you’re willing to solve.
✔ Exploring biomes with unique threats and opportunities
Every region has distinct resources, temperatures, and challenges.
✔ Slowly earning trust and building your place in the world
You start as a stranger. You can become a protector, a wanderer, a builder — or stay an outsider.
✔ Shaping the continent through your actions
Stability rises and falls depending on your choices and those of NPC Outlanders.
🔍 A WORLD WITH MYSTERY — BUT NOT FORCED ON YOU
Outlanders don’t appear by accident.
There is a reason.
There is a deeper story.
But the world doesn’t lecture you.
There are no glowing markers, no cutscenes, no scripted quests.
You uncover pieces naturally — through exploration, journals, ruins, and encounters.
Some players will uncover much.
Some will uncover almost nothing.
And both experiences are valid.
This is not a story about chosen heroes.
It is a story about surviving, adapting, and deciding what kind of mark you’ll leave on a land that never asked for your arrival.
