Alan R. Moon's Union Pacific Deluxe Edition

Union Pacific is a train-themed stock market game. On each turn, players must choose between expanding a company to increase its value and adding a share of stock to their hand, or playing stock onto the table from their hand to increase their ownership of one or two companies. There are four semi-random scoring events, in which the first and second place share holder in each company are paid dividends. Only stock that has been previously played onto the table is considered during the scoring rounds. Union Pacific is a special company whose shares are claimed according to special rules. Union Pacific is not represented on the board but instead pays dividends to all share holders according to a fixed progression chart. Money is only used to track victory conditions and cannot be spent during the game. The winner is the player with the most money at the end of the game.

I met Alan R. Moon in April of 2005. Union Pacific was already out of print by then but it has always been one of my favorite designs of his, alonk with San Marco and Elfenland and it was awesome to be able to meet and talk games with Alan. 

We remained friends for 21 years and we got to work together on a project when I used to publish games back in 2020 during the height of the Pandemic.

Over the years this game has ment alot to me, and I cannot wait to make a version of this classic for a new generation of folks in the hobby, so they can experience a modern version of the game, with All of Alan's Ideas and visions in this definitive one time only experience. 

If you are a seasoned fan of the game or brand new to it, you will not want to miss out on this once in a lifetime opportunity to secure a copy of one of the greatest train games of all time, in this very limited deluxe reprint that will only be available here, and perhaps if a few copies remain, we will find a good home for them direct only. 

Or if you know me or Alan, maybe we will give you one at a show in trade for one of your cool games. But this is what we call in the business, a true passion project from twho old friends who just want to see one of their favorite games get a deluxe remake.

We do not have a traditional publisher or distributor for this project. Alan and I will be making and printing the game using 3rd party services and delivery and we will be limiting this to the USA and select ROTW areas. We anticipate shipping to cost:

USA - $16 - $26 - Limited to the Continental United States, AK and HI will see higher rates and transit times as the USPS has special rates to these areas outside our control

ROTW - $39 - $59  - limited to Canada/EU/UK and China/HK/Japan only to ensure a smooth fast dispatch of rewards and delivery of them outside the USA. We do not live outside the USA and we will work with 2 centers to help us get rewards to our friends outside the USA in the best capacity we can offer for this limited editon production and release.

If for any reason, you find that after the Kickstarter has ended, you need to cancel, we will work with you to best make that happen. Email our CS for help (mrbgames.cs(at symbol)gmail). If you cancel within 30 days of the end of the Kickstarter, we are able to do a complete refund via the Kickstarter payments system (including KS fees!) After 30 days and up until the month before we ship the rewards, we are able to do a 90% refund (less Kickstarter and CC processing fees) via PayPal. For a refund request after shipping addresses have been locked (approx. 4 weeks before shipping), we ask you to email us at mrbgames.cs (at) gmail.com and we will try to work with you for a partial refund if possible, but you will be responsible for return shipping. If for any reason you feel you have a missing item or damaged item, please email us at mrbgames.cs (at) gmail.com with photos of the damage, your backer number, backer name, and complete address we will work to replace the missing or damaged items ASAP. Do not post in the comments, or other forums as we may miss them or be delayed in replying. We will make sure we have replacement parts for at least 1 year from the time we ship. Requests after 1 year will be subject to availability (though historically we have had extra parts for 2-3 years).

The following Terms are accepted by you, the backer when you pledge so that we can ensure smooth delivery for all. Pledging to one of our Kickstarter projects is NOT a pre-order - it is a very welcomed show of support to a small company helping us produce a new product. Your data is always safe as we use a 3rd party service to secure it and contact you about projects - you may opt out of this contact at the bottom of each email (we send these about 12x a year - during the launch of a KS campaign usually). Surveys not filled in after 3 months of final delivery (from the "Last Call" update) or missing reward requests after 3 months of your game shipment will be treated as a no-reward pledge. Please help us get you your rewards by emailing our CS with any issues you may have promptly and filling in your survey in a timely manner. Watch for updates on all shipping statuses. All of our major communications will be via Kickstarter Updates. Our Privacy Policy is posted on our website and by pledging to one of our campaigns you agree to its terms and conditions which are compliant around the world for a USA-based company mailing pledge rewards to its backers.

If your reward goes missing due to a bad address, pledging from a country we listed as unshippable/restricted, or failure to pick up the reward on your end, contact our CS and we can arrange a replacement but will need to collect shipping again. If this is an error on our end we will reship at no cost to you.

Missing reward requests should be sent to our CS no later than 30 days after your shipping wave update, as tracking numbers become difficult to track after 30 days. Help us deliver for you :) Please provide pictures of damages if your reward arrives damaged and try your local carrier first - then our CS to help if you cannot get a resolution from the carrier re: damage.

By pledging to this project, you acknowledge that the final look and materials of the project and hence the rewards, are subject to change and may differ from what is presented while the Kickstarter campaign was active. If you do not accept these terms, please do not pledge on this project but instead wait for the possibility of a general release copy. We will always do our best to provide exactly what was pictured, but sometimes small details change or a card is removed and replaced with another, etc. The above campaign depicts our plan, but all plans can change at a factory level. Pledge with confidence, as we rarely alter our content, and to date have only upgraded or added from the Kickstarter campaign depiction.
