Prenez le commandement de vos armées mystiques et battez-vous pour remporter la victoire ! Avec trois façons de gagner, la personnalisation des armées et la prise en charge de jusqu’à 4 joueurs, la rejouabilité est sans pareille ! Les joueurs contrôlent des armées sur mesure et s’affrontent pour tenter de prendre le contrôle de cercles arcaniques, d’anéantir l’adversaire ou de l’empêcher de jouer son tour. Les joueurs déplacent leurs pions selon les types de déplacement attribués : au sol, en s'enfouissant, en volant ou par téléportation. Ils s'affrontent pour contrôler des cases, en lançant les dés en fonction des valeurs d'attaque et de défense attribuées. Certaines créatures possèdent des capacités spéciales pouvant être utilisées en dehors des combats, notamment le lancement de sorts. Les lanceurs de sorts choisissent des sorts dans une liste et les lancent pendant la partie ! Le jeu comprend un plateau, plus de 100 pions d'unités, des cartes de créatures, des cartes de sorts et des dés personnalisés.

Built for players who love the precision of chess and the explosive strategy of card games, Arcane Chess keeps the classic board at the center of the battle while adding ability cards that reward bold captures, clever timing, and creative play.
What is Arcane Chess?
Arcane Chess is a 2-player tabletop strategy game played with a standard chess set and two custom ability decks.
Each player commands:
- 1 King’s Card, a passive ability active for the entire game
- 24 Ability Cards
- A hand of tactical powers that can shift the board, empower pieces, and create new threats
Players still move pieces using classic chess rules, and checkmate still wins. The cards do not replace chess — they transform the decisions around it.
How it works
Capture enemy pieces to unlock card abilities.
On your turn, you may play one card and must make one legal chess move. Cards can create powerful tactical moments, but every move still matters because the final goal is the same: checkmate the enemy king.
There is no mana system, no separate resource deck, and no replacing the core chess objective. Your power comes from what you earn on the board.
What comes in the box?
The Arcane Chess starter box includes two complete decks:
- 1 Light Ability Deck
- 1 Dark Ability Deck
- Each deck includes 24 Ability Cards and 2 King’s Cards to choose from
A chessboard and chess pieces are required to play and are not included.

Current status
Arcane Chess is currently in active development with finished card artwork, a playable ruleset, and prototype testing underway.
