Monster Keepers is a cooperative board game where players take on the role of five Keepers responsible for helping five classic movie monsters navigate life in the modern world. Whether calming an anxious Wolf Man, helping Frankenstein fit in, or preventing the Invisible Man from causing trouble, players must work together to keep both monsters and townsfolk safe.
Monster Keepers has undergone more than 30 playtest sessions with more than 50 playtesters across three continents.
The game is fully playable today and currently includes more than 150 mission cards, 25 Keeper ability cards, organization boards, status systems, and a complete cooperative gameplay experience.
Each of the five monsters comes with its own deck of 30 unique missions. While all monsters build upon the same core mechanics, each introduces its own twists, challenges, and personality.
Dracula mesmerizes those around him, drawing monsters and Keepers alike into his orbit.
The Invisible Man is a trickster, manipulating dice, disrupting plans, and creating chaos across the board.
The Mummy spreads an ancient curse that slowly overtakes the game if left unchecked.
The Wolf Man is emotional and unpredictable, demanding immediate attention while struggling against his more beastly instincts.
Frankenstein is big and strong, but innocent and not emotionally equipped to handle the world. His missions often involve simple, heartfelt tasks like repairing a teddy bear or learning how to bake a cake, even as the world around him struggles to handle someone as powerful as he is.
Every monster follows the same rules.
Every monster breaks them in a different way.
The Keepers are just as dynamic as the monsters they care for. Monster Keepers includes 25 unique Keeper abilities divided among five different archetypes, with each archetype offering five distinct ways to play.
One round you might approach a problem as a scientist, solving challenges through preparation and careful planning.
The next, you could find yourself relying on teamwork and quick reactions as an athlete.
Later still, you may take command as a general, coordinate the group as a leader, or support your teammates in entirely different ways.
At the beginning of each round, players gain new abilities and new roles, meaning your approach to the game constantly evolves alongside the monsters themselves.
It's entirely possible for two scientists to sit at the same table and play completely differently.
Combined with five unique monsters and more than 150 missions, no two games unfold in quite the same way.

The missions in Monster Keepers are not about defeating monsters.
They're about helping them.
You might spend one game teaching Dracula social graces before an important public appearance.
The next, you'll be giving the Wolf Man a flea bath before his patience runs out.
Frankenstein may need his remote control batteries recharged.
The Invisible Man might leave footprints through a bakery or accidentally start trouble simply because nobody can see what he's doing.
Monster Keepers celebrates the charm of classic movie monsters with humor, empathy, and affection, creating a game that can be enjoyed by monster fans, horror fans, and families alike.
All of this unfolds against a backdrop inspired by classic monster movies, 1950s pulp adventure art, and mid-century movie posters, giving Monster Keepers a unique identity somewhere between creature features, Saturday matinee adventures, and drive-in theater nostalgia.

This campaign is not about discovering what Monster Keepers should look like.
It's about finishing what it has already become.
The artwork shown throughout this campaign represents prototype and concept artwork created during development and playtesting. Much of this material was generated using AI tools to help visualize ideas, test mechanics, and establish the visual identity of the project. Finished art will be created by commissioned artists.
One of the primary goals of this campaign is to replace those temporary assets with professionally commissioned artwork and production-quality illustrations that fully realize the world and characters of Monster Keepers.
Rather than commissioning hundreds of individual illustrations, Monster Keepers uses a reusable art library inspired by the production techniques of classic animation. We will create professional character assets for the five monsters and five Keepers, along with expression sets, poses, backgrounds, props, and graphic design templates.
These assets, combined with more traditional illustrated elements such as mission cards, organization tiles, and game boards, allow us to create more than 200 visual components while maintaining a consistent visual identity across the entire game.

This campaign focuses on transforming that prototype into a finished product through professional artwork, graphic design, technical writing, and production-ready assets.
Your Support Will Help Fund:
  • Character Asset Library — Reusable character assets for five Classic Movie Monsters and five Keepers, including expressions, poses, and modular components.
  • Box Art — Professional box art for the game box, campaign materials, promotional use, and final product presentation.
  • Traditional Illustrations — Custom, non-asset-library illustrations for important pieces that deserve a unique, hand-crafted approach.
  • Backgrounds, Props, and Visual Assets — Reusable supporting artwork used throughout the game.
  • Technical Writer and Rulebook — Professional editing and organization of the rulebook to ensure clarity, accessibility, and an excellent player experience.
  • Graphic Design and Print Preparation — Development of card templates, graphic design elements, and print-ready files.
  • Production, Contingency, and Revisions — Coverage for revisions, additional production needs, and the inevitable surprises that come with bringing a project to completion.

Most importantly, this campaign helps us build the reusable art pipeline that will bring the world of Monster Keepers together while maintaining a consistent visual identity across more than 200 visual components.
Every contribution helps move the monsters one step closer to their forever artwork.
Because no monster should have to live in placeholder art forever.
