Beside the Lesser Travelled Road

Overview

Carefully designed to encourage roleplay and turn those dull “you rest, reset your spell slots” moments into something truly memorable, your players might find themselves getting more than a good night's sleep!
Easily drop these locales into your fantasy TTRPGs any time with “micro”, “short” and “long” plot hooks to suit what you're looking for, and tips on how to seamlessly insert the locales.

Human-made: no AI will be used in this project.

Besides the Lesser Travelled Road will be around 70 pages, A5 staple-bound and made of recycled, uncoated, full-colour page inners with a matt laminated cover. 

If all the stretch goals are hit, it will be around 140 pages!

Content

Beside the Lesser Travelled Road features 20 characterful and roleplay-prompting campsites. Each with a colourful description of the locale, details on what your characters will find if they forage or hunt there and key points of interest that will draw your characters attention. 

Each has plot-hooks of three lengths, allowing you to choose between a 15-20 minute aside, a 45-60 minute scene or a 2-3 hour session!

Each locale will be laid upon a richly-coloured, moody and striking design.

We've also taken special consultancy from a particularly august character within the UK TTRPG scene.... ahem.

Stretch Goals

Every stretch goal unlocks a new locale brought to you by some of the coolest and most creative folks currently working within the UK indie TTRPG scene. Each an insane talent with a unique flavour, they'll bring their Midas touch to 20 additional campsites; one every £250 after the funding goal is met.

That's a grand total of 40 locales!

There was no way we could pick an order for these folks so we drew their names from a hat.

All tiers come with a digital PDF of Beside the Lesser Travelled Road for prosperity and flexibility of use! 

All rewards are available as addons, just in case you want to grab an extra one or don't want to fork out for the whole tier for some one item.

The artwork for all items, except the Runefable D20, was created by Josh Arklin!

Fulfilment, Postage & Customs

Physical Fulfilment

We're expecting to have all physical pledges posted by the end of May. We're hoping to have physical copies in time for UKGE so will fulfil all our backers pledges before then. Of course there is always the chance of something out of our control, some issue with the printers or straight-up natural disasters, but we think those are unlikely! We'll be printing with the fantastic and proven Fistful of Ink.

Digital Fulfilment

As soon as the final version is done and off to print, we'll fulfil the PDF. That will likely be the end of April or early May and be completed via itch.io or DTRPG.

Postage Charges

Postage will be charged post-campaign, likely via backer-kit. For a physical zine only it's usually a few quid to folks in the UK, ~£11 to the EU and  £12-14 to other places: that is a guestimate however and final costs may vary wildly by the time they are charged.

Customs

Customs charges may be due on your pledge as levied by your country. It will depend on what country you are ordering from and the contents on your pledges so we cannot guestimate or advise what that might be.
