Why bricks in tarot?
First of all - it is fun :)
At any age, it awakens our inner child and reminds us of a world where everything is still possible.
A world where ideas come first, and anything can be built if you allow yourself to imagine. But if we look deeper, there is a very serious reason why bricks is so popular all over the world:
Bricks are one of the most universal visual languages we have. They are simple. Neutral. Recognizable at a glance.
There is one more subtle, but powerful connection:
- On one side, bricks are deeply associated with childhood.
- On the other, tarot symbolism reveals the deep patterns of adult life.
Bricks of Fate brings these two layers together.
Not to make tarot childish - but to gently dismantle the barriers built by adult experience and reach the subconscious through the brightest, most honest part of our memory: the inner child.
This is the part of us that sees clearly, without overthinking.
Sometimes naive - but deeply truthful. And sometimes, this is exactly the perspective we are missing.
How the cards are made
We begin with the symbolism of the original RWS card.
Before touching any bricks, we carefully analyze the source image:
its symbols, composition, relationships, and visual balance.
The next step is choosing the figures.
We work only with real minifigures from existing sets,
and this is often the most difficult and time-consuming part of the process. Finding a figure that truly fits the card can take days — or much longer. Some characters are still a challenge. For example, we are still searching for the right figure to represent Hermanubis.
Once the figure is chosen, we begin building the environment.
The background, the space, the objects around the character - all carefully arranged to preserve as much of the original RWS symbolism as possible.
This part is deeply engaging and incredibly slow. When everything finally comes together, we photograph the scene. And this is usually the moment when things need to be rebuilt again.
So we adjust.
Rebuild.
And shoot again.
On average,
each card takes us 2 to 4 days
from analysis to final photograph.
It’s a long process - but it’s the only way we know to treat both tarot and this medium with respect.
Where the project is now
Here’s where Bricks of Fate stands today.
We have already analyzed all 78 Rider–Waite–Smith cards and clearly planned how each one will be translated into bricks. The structure, symbolism, and visual language of the entire deck are fully defined.
With the help of the tarot community on Reddit, we found active groups for exchanging parts and minifigures. This means we can now source any specific figure or element
needed for a card.
So far, we have completed about 50% of the deck.
- 6 Major Arcana cards
- 33 cards from Minor Arcana
This stage confirmed something important: the entire deck can be completed in a consistent style — without using AI.
This is where your support matters.
With your help, we can complete the remaining cards
and bring the full Bricks of Fate deck to life.
If this project resonates with you,
we invite you to support it now.
The Book
In addition to the deck, we are creating a hardcover guidebook of approximately 200 pages. This book is not a traditional tarot manual.
It is an invitation to look at tarot from a different angle - through the meeting point of two perspectives: the openness of the inner child and the lived experience of the adult.
Inside, we explore each card in two voices.
One speaks from knowledge, structure, and understanding.
The other from curiosity, intuition, and honest, unfiltered perception.
Our goal is not to simplify tarot, but to make it more accessible to remove unnecessary layers and return to the clarity that often gets lost over time. This guidebook is meant to be read slowly, returned to, and lived with not just consulted for meanings, but used as a companion for reflection and personal insight.
Every deck deserves a proper home. This soft velvet pouch was created to keep your Bricks of Fate cards protected, comfortable, and always ready for the next reading.
The fabric feels gentle in your hands, while the drawstrings hold the deck securely inside. Whether you’re traveling, storing your cards on an altar, or simply carrying them in your bag, this pouch adds a sense of care and intention to the experience.
The Bricks of Fate Tarot Cloth creates a dedicated space for your readings — a small ritual zone where focus and intention come first. With its compact 40 × 40 cm size, it fits perfectly on a table, desk, or altar, grounding your cards and framing each spread with care.
Made from soft velvet, the cloth feels rich and pleasant to the touch, while its texture helps keep cards in place during readings. Practical, elegant, and quietly symbolic, it’s designed to support your connection with the cards and turn every reading into a more mindful experience.
Become co-creators.
At this point, we clearly see the next step.
To complete the deck, we need to acquire additional sets to access the specific parts and minifigures required. That is exactly why we are launching this campaign
and asking for your support.
But this project is not just about funding.
We don’t want you to simply purchase a deck, even a beautiful and unique one :).
We want you to become participants and co-creators of Bricks of Fate.
We plan to openly share the entire creation process
on our social media channels.
You’ll be able to:
- take part in discussions
- influence creative decisions
- help shape the final narrative
For example, on Reddit we’ve already discussed:
- whether a journey can unfold within a single suit
- or whether symbols and characters can move between suits
Like how the difficult transition shown in the Six of Swords might ultimately lead
to the sense of home and emotional fulfillment of the Ten of Cups.
If this way of creating tarot resonates with you,
we invite you to join us.
And let’s build Bricks of Fate together!
We’re a creative family from Slovenia with a deep love for tarot, building bricks, and storytelling.
This is our fourth tarot deck — but the first one we are creating together, side by side.
The idea came from our son. We gave it form.
And together, we turned it into tarot.
While working on our previous decks, our son once asked a simple question:
“Why don’t you make a tarot deck out of bricks?”
What started as a playful thought quickly revealed something deeper.
A way to look at tarot through simplicity, curiosity, and imagination — without losing its meaning or depth.
Our son is not just an inspiration behind the idea.
He actively participates in the process: helping to build scenes, choose details, and shape the visual storytelling of each card, brick by brick.
This project became a shared creative space —
a conversation between experience and curiosity, structure and play.
And Bricks of Fate grew out of that dialogue.

Shipping & Customs Transparency
We want to be fully transparent about shipping and potential customs fees.
Shipping costs are included in your pledge.
We do our best to minimize potential customs issues by working with multiple fulfillment points worldwide and choosing the most reasonable shipping routes when possible. That said, local import taxes or customs duties (if any) are determined by the destination country’s regulations and are outside of our control, so they can’t be guaranteed or fully predicted.
From our experience with previous Kickstarter campaigns, most backers — including those in the US and EU — did not encounter additional fees. Still, regulations may vary, which is why we prefer to be honest and upfront.
If this way of creating tarot resonates with you,
support the project and help bring Bricks of Fate to life.
By backing this campaign, you’re not just pre-ordering a deck -
you’re becoming part of the creation and helping shape something that is still being built.
