— description du concepteur

Playtesting and Perfection
Calamity Hex has been in development for over two years, with great mechanics as the initial driving force behind the game. As a passionate board gamer, my experiences taught me to appreciate the small design decisions that make a game feel balanced and exciting. I tried to approach Calamity Hex with that same level of care.
Every mechanic in the game exists for a reason. Whether it's giving players meaningful strategic choices, creating opportunities for dramatic comebacks, or keeping the players engaged throughout the game, each system was designed to contribute to the players experience. Throughout development, Calamity Hex has gone through multiple rounds of playtesting with a wide variety of players. Every session generated new feedback, leading to meaningful improvements.
One of the biggest improvements came to the game's pacing. Early versions ran much longer. Through extensive testing, we streamlined the turn structure, adjusted player counts, reduced unnecessary downtime, and increased starting resources so players could jump into the action sooner without sacrificing strategic depth.
I am proud of where Calamity Hex is today, and am also still open to feedback from initial Kickstarter backers for future iterations of the game.
Production and Post Campaign
This is a promise to backers - I am passionate about getting this game in peoples hands because I love the idea.
This isn't my first Kickstarter project. My previous game, Devilish Dice, successfully funded at 150% of its goal, providing invaluable experience navigating manufacturing, production, and fulfillment. That project allowed me to build a strong working relationship with our production partner and gain firsthand knowledge of the process from prototype to delivery.
Rather than starting from scratch, we've continued working with the same manufacturer throughout the development of Calamity Hex. We've already been testing components, refining production specifications, and obtaining detailed manufacturing quotes so we have a clear understanding of what it will take to bring this game to life.
If Calamity Hex reaches its funding goal, production can begin with a manufacturing partner we already know and trust. While every Kickstarter project can encounter unexpected challenges, we've taken the time to plan ahead, establish reliable partnerships, and prepare for the road ahead. If Calamity Hex is funded, you can feel good about the game getting into your hands.
