Cards of Holding

The Cards of Holding is a set of 9 cards that let you track stats and simulate dice rolls without a table, a pencil, and without losing your place. The system works through card orientation and order. And it doesn't require arthritis-inducing grips either. Rotate a card, shift its position in the stack, and you've updated your stat. Put the whole stack in your pocket and come back to it later — everything is exactly where you left it.
The cards are versatile enough to cover things like Health, Treasure, Mana, Supplies, Magic etc. The top-most card shows you which side of the deck is face-up and oriented upward, and it also functions as a binary toggle card to handle on/off states like a having a charged up ability vs not, or having a key available. And it looks like a cool "bag of holding" :)
If you don't have dice handy, the cards can be used to simulate the a d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, and d20. You know, when you're commuting on a train, out on the beach, or secretly playing a game during a business meeting or at church - places where rolling dice might not work as well.
The dice cards can also be used to keep track of which dice are available vs exhausted. They do this in the same way as the stat cards by changing the orientation of the card.
Cards of Holding was built alongside Omens and Bones: The Curse of Zaryth — a solo dungeon crawl played with a standard 54-card deck and dice, inspired by the mechanics of Dungeon Solitaire. Omens and Bones tracks two stats throughout play: Health and Focus. Cards of Holding handles both without breaking immersion or pulling you out of the game.
Also included with this campaign: fold-up quick reference rules for both Omens and Bones and the Dungeon Solitaire Curses variant — so you can start playing these games easily on the go.
Why back this? Cards of Holding is a small product with a specific purpose — and it does that purpose really well. If you play solo games, in-hand games, or RPGs on the go, this is the kind of thing you didn't know you needed until you try it.
