Carnival of Saints: A grimdark warband for trench warfare

Grimdark Covenant is an independent creative studio led by Miguel G. Cebrian (Concept Artist from the games industry), joined by Maximiliano Nahuel Espinelli (veteran miniature sculptor) and Vicent Ramírez-Luzón (over a decade of experience delivering successful crowdfunding campaigns). Together, we bring Carnival of Saints to life: a miniature range inspired by the contrast between vibrant colors and grimdark aesthetics, religious celebration, theatrical excess and delightfully twisted storytelling.

Throughout the campaign, we have unlocked additional miniatures and miniature upgrades through Stretch Goals. These are included at no extra cost for eligible pledge levels unless otherwise stated.

• Digital Homebrew Warband Book: Our warband book to dive in the lore of the Carnival of Saints. Built with full-color illustrations and complemented with our own homebrew rules. Included for free on every pledge level.
• Warband sketch: A unique handmade sketch, signed by the artist and presented with a protective backing board. Carefully packaged and ready to frame.
• Set of art postcards: A collection of three premium art postcards featuring original artwork from The Carnival of Saints, printed on high-quality cardstock.
• Design a miniature: Collaborate with the team to create and name a unique Jester Knight mercenary and become part of The Carnival of Saints. Your character will be sculpted and delivered as both an STL file and a physical miniature.

The 15 core miniatures + the free unlocks are included in every pledge that includes the Full Warband reward. Additional unlocked miniatures can be bought as add-ons!

Carnival of Saints will include physical miniatures produced in high-quality resin. We believe 3D Printing is the best medium for our miniatures, allowing us to create expressive, dynamic poses with virtually no artistic constraints.

Quality Check! These are test prints for our Carnival of Saints models, in the same quality you will receive them for your Physical Warband Pledges. We will use dark grey resin instead of the orange you can see used for these tests.

To make this possible, we have partnered with two experienced production studios here in Spain: Steam Head Studios and Hungry Troll Miniatures. Every miniature undergoes extensive quality control to ensure it meets a premium standard before reaching your hands.

The STL files feature the same level of detail as the physical miniatures and come fully pre-supported, with most of our models split into multiple parts to encourage easy kitbashing and customization.

We believe that creating art is an essential part of the human condition. 

We do not use generative AI in any part of our process. Not for concepts, not for ideation, not even for reference. Every detail was made by a human being who made a choice about it. We believe this matters - both for the integrity of the work, and for the people who will pour their heart painting these minis we loved making.

We start every character with freehand sketches on paper, gathering references and writting exciting lore. Then sculpt, iterate, test print and iterate again. This is where the Carnival of Saints actually lives: in the first rough line that captures something true about a jester who has survived forty days of holy war and come out the other side with a wicked smile.

Our friend at Crab Miniatures created this module as part of his Modular Stages: Trenches MyMiniFactory campaign. Every backer of Carnival of Saints will receive it for free.

This warband was created by fans of wargames, and as such, we started playing with it from the very beginning. Today, we're proud to present a set of homebrew rules created with love, developed alongside the community, extensively playtested, and refined through multiple iterations.

We don't want to profit from these rules. They were made by the community, for the community. As a small love letter to the hobby, every pledge will include the Digital Homebrew Warband Book at no additional cost.

Once the Kickstarter campaign ends, the miniature range will only be available in digital format (STL files ready for 3D printing) and at a higher retail price—on average, around 25% more than during the campaign.

Backing the campaign is the best way to secure the physical miniatures and enjoy the best value for the range.

After the campaign ends, backers will be asked to complete their information through the Kickstarter Pledge Manager.

All STL files will be delivered through MyMiniFactory.

Shipping costs for physical rewards will be charged after the campaign and will vary depending on the destination country.
