Caster's Quest

Synopsis 

The year is 666 AD,

The desciples of the evil lord, the Tower Master, have gathered to perform a forbidden ritual, one that will restore their master to power.

Sensing the danger, the guild of the magic casters sends their last hope, an apprentice, to stop this ritual and prevent centuries of darkness from beginning anew.

Game Play 

The game is a 2D side scroller with modern puzzle elements. Inspired by classic Castle-vania games on the NES. The game has a hub world, the Tower, in which you get to buy, complete quests, chat with colourful characters, and enter new game levels. 

Each game level contains collectables and secret side quests and requests which you can fulfill to gain spell upgrades. You start with a basic melee attack. Once you complete side-quests and puzzles, you will gain access to more powerful weapons like the charge shot, homing spell, and an arrow shot.

Reward Tiers

• Digital version: This reward gives you access to a DRM-free version of the game. It will be sent to you as a link.
• Physical version: In addition to the digital version, you will receive a physical copy of the game files in a CD. The current version is compatible with Windows 7 & 8 but it will be expanded to include Windows XP. 
• RnC Game Catalogue: In addition to the digital game, you will gain access to my board game design collection which includes fan-favourite as well as award-winning games. This includes: Mini House Flipper, Dungeon Maker Deluxe!, and Pocket Scifi: A Cyborg Adventure.

• £50: Thank you for making this game a reality. Each backer will be mentioned in the credits (subject to consent). In addition, you will gain access to early game concept artwork for all of my games which you can use in your future projects under the CCC 4.0 license.

Development Goals

Here is why I need funding for this project:

• Hire professional play-testers.
• Hire game programmers to help fix the game bugs. 
• Hire a level designer to polish the game. 
• Create the physical version.
• Finalise the artwork: The artwork is still a work in progress. I have used placeholder assets which I wish to replace. By getting the funding, this will release me from some of the coding and level design and enables me to focus more on the artwork.
