Charlie Country - Part 1

Welcome!

We are W3 Wargaming, thank you for taking the time to look at our Kickstarter - 'Charlie Country - Part 1'

This project will contain STL files for 3D printing US Army depicted units from the Vietnam War -  most notably in the 1967-1969 period of the war.

Charlie Country is W3 Wargaming's eagerly awaited project bringing life to 3D printed miniatures based in the Vietnam War setting.

Please note: This project is for digital delivery of STL files for home 3D printing- not physical miniatures!

Our miniatures are designed at 28mm / 1:56 scale and have been sculpted with details to deliver fantastic looking miniatures for you to enjoy.  Due to popular demand (and it looking very cool indeed) we're making our models with geometry suitable to also deliver the miniatures so that they print in 20mm / 1:72 scale too.

All miniatures are supplied with both unsupported and pre-supported files.

Pledges

The Commercial Pledge license enables backers to sell physical prints of the project miniatures - however, not the STL files themselves.  Commercial pledges do not include the Bobmac3D Vehicles - however can be arranged through Bobmac3D directly.

Core Pledge - what you can expect to receive:

To give potential backers peace of mind, all of the assets necessary for compiling the project have been created, with many of the stretch goals keenly started and completed in earnest.  We've included photos and renders where possible. All Core pledge items are completed at project launch and available quickly after the Kickstarter period has finished

Alongside our core files and stretch goals we are also making available the following add-on packs. 

As W3 Wargaming has been founded by wargamers themselves, we're keen to help integrate the models from this range into a useable platoon - which can be used straight away for games like Battleground HD, Bolt Action, Surviving Nam, Oscar Mike and Chain of Command.

Please note - W3 Wargaming is based in the United Kingdom, as such we show our funding milestones in GBP (£), this may be different to those shown elsewhere on the page (as Kickstarter changes these automatically, depending on your region).

Model Formats

All our models will be issued out in STL format, in both supported and unsupported formats.  Our supported models have been carefully supported and tested for ease of printing before delivery.  The supported models can be dragged straight into your slicer software.

District Miniatures have worked up a set of 11th ACR decals for the Armoured Cavalry element of Charlie Country Part 1 - designed by Brad from BattlegroundHD.  These can be found on District Minaitures website; along with unit patches etc for the infantry here:

Previous Kickstarter Projects

At W3 Wargaming, we pride ourselves on the quality of our models.  We have made a name for ourselves in providing high quality and accurate models via the medium of Wargaming3D, along with working collaboratively with RKXminiatures and Flank March Miniatures on many of their successful Kickstarter Campaigns.

We have successfully delivered 4 of our own Kickstarter projects to date.  Retreat Hell - Part 1, Over There - Part 1, Retreat Hell - Part 2, Over There - Part 2.  

All 4 projects included over 100 uniquely sculpted infantry models, numerous Heavy weapons and vehicles in each.

BattlegroundHD Collaboration

We're working together with BattlegroundHD to bring miniatures from our Charlie Country range to their tabletop game in the form of special characters and hero models. BattlegroundHD will be following up with a project soon - so keep your eyes peeled for that

Frequently asked questions

How do your minis scale with other ranges? 

They are similar in proportion to Warlord Games' Plastic heroic models, but they can be adjusted in size to suit your needs by changing the scaling in your slicer.

All of our Infantry miniatures are stood on puddle bases where applicable.

Do your minis print at other scales 15mm etc. ? 

Although our minis are designed to be printed at 28mm and scales down well to 20mm.  I do not believe they will print very well at 15mm due to thinning of easily breakable parts, such as weapon barrels, bayonets etc.

When will the miniatures be available for delivery?

The Charlie Country Core platoon will be available once funding has been confirmed from Kickstarter, along with all the Bobmac vehicle set purchases.

We will then distribute all stretch goals and addons in waves/as they become available so backers can get them onto their printers straight away.

How do you facilitate delivery?

Links to an online dropbox storage container will be emailed out to backers once they have filled in the backer survey with their elected email details.

1. Personal Use- Files are for personal use only. The purchase of the files does not allow commercial usage or sales of the product in digital or physical format. Personal license is by per user and not for group purchases or distribution.

2. Derivative Works- You may make derivative works off of the files, but derivate works may only be used for private use. You may not sell, distribute, or provide access derivative works in any form or shape. You may not sell physical or digital copies of derivative works.

3. You may not make moulds and cast our figures under any circumstances.

4. You may not use elements of our product for your own sculpts.

5. Do not share any links to protected download links. Do not share files.

6. You may produce videos and photos of the 3D prints and share them in digital or print. We ask that you identify the figures as W3 Wargaming miniatures if published.

7. The personal license does not provide any copyright ownership or transfer of copyright to the personal license holder. W3 Wargaming retains all copyright to the files and will pursue full rights under DMCA. DMCA violations such as, but not limited to, unauthorized distribution or reselling can result in criminal and civil penalties up to $250,000 in fines and 5 years in prison. Civil fines can amount up to $150,000 per infringed work if the prosecution proves wilful infringement.
