Le tag « Jeu de plateau » est trop générique : il sera retiré. Jusqu'à 3 tags du site. Le tag STL retire la fiche du catalogue (fichier 3D, pas un jeu). Ensuite plus de modification ici : un mauvais tag se signale.

TLDR - Chicken Coup Quick Facts

Just to let you know this says 8 and up and the box willl say 10 and up. That's because I think if you play this and explain it well an 8 year old could totally play along. That being said the box says 10 beacuse a 10 year old could play this without any help whatsoever.

What's In The Box

Included In The Box is 6 Paper Foldable Coops, A Deck of 104 Cards, 30 Chicken Tokens, and 8 Hunting Dog Cardboard Punch-out Standees.

Prototype Shown

How To Play

Goal Of The Game - Get 6 chickens inside your coop! Fastest wins.

Pick a Coop

Pull out these 2 cards from the deck:

  • The Fox
  • The Hunting Dog

Shuffle the rest of the deck and deal 6 cards to each player.

*Chicken and Hunting Dog Figurine in image (prototype) are Risk characters and the Thief from Catan

Take The Fox and The Hunting Dog cards and mix them in with an amount of cards that equal 2 less than the total number of players. Deal these cards out. Everyone should now have 7 cards total in their hand.

If a player has receives a Night card put it back in the draw pile and pick a new card. No player should start the game with a Night card in their hand.

With three players mix the fox, the hunting dog, and an extra card together and deal them out.

Play starts with whichever player has elected to take on the Storyteller role.

On your turn:

Play as many cards as you like, in any order by placing the cards face up in the discard pile next to the draw pile.

Your Turn Ends once:

  • You play a Chicken card and place it next to your Coop
  • Gain new cards with Helping Hands or Supply Store
  • Or, after you're happy with the amount of cards you played, end your turn by drawing 1 card from the deck.

If you draw the Night Card immediately place it down on the discard pile and start the Night (see The Night below). After The Night is over play moves to the next player.

If you didn’t draw a Night card, play moves to the next player as normal.

Movement of Chickens:

When you play a Chick card the chicken doesn't go immediately in the coop, instead it wait's outside for certain actions to happen.

How to Get a Chicken:

  • You steal a Chick Card from another player using a different card (Thief in the Night, Helping Hand). In this case you can continue playing cards until the end of your turn.
  • You play a Chick Card. Your turn ends.

How to Get a Chicken in Your Coop:

  • You play a Coop Card and move 1 chicken into the coup
  • You are The Fox and steal a Chicken during The Night

You cannot play a Coop Card if you have no chickens to move into the coop. You cannot play a Coop Card preemptively to get around ending your turn after getting playing a Chicken Card.

The Night:

When someone draws a Night Card immediately play it. Have all players then close their eyes.

The Storyteller (1 of 3 Roles) must instruct players using the script below, or something adjacent to it:

“Everyone close your eyes. Hunting Dog open your eyes and move your figurine to a new coop to protect it [15 second pause]. Hunting Dog close your eyes. Fox open your eyes and steal a chicken from outside an unprotected coop* [15 second pause]. Close your eyes. Everyone, open your eyes.”

Everyone opens their eyes. Game resumes with the next player’s turn.

Aerial Shot - Play the Night card as soon as it's drawn

Notes:

  • When the Fox steals a chicken they must put it immediately inside their coop. That way the other players are less likely to guess which player has the Fox Card.
  • The Hunting Dog may choose to protect their own Coop, but only if they hadn’t been protected the previous round. Each round the Hunting Dog Figurine must be passed to a new Coop.
  • An unprotect Coop is any coop that does not have the Hunting Dog Figurine on it.
  • The Fox can only steal chickens that are outside of the coop

About Us

Chicken Coup is the first (but not the last) game from Geebler Games.

Specifics: Chicken Coup was created by Molly Patten, an avid Werewolf or Mafia player who wanted to bring the hidden role games to a new setting, the cute laid back country side. Art for the game was made by both Molly and her friend Celia Daluise, a communications student with an arts Minor. They've been friends since middle school, actually they somewhat knew of each other before Molly even moved to their town.

The name "Geebler" comes from the mind of The Claire Kennedy during a Jackbox night. It was originally used for a fictional "animation company" we needed to make for a senior year drama project. We're excited to see this fictional company be turned into a real collaboration with shareable content. We're also excited we won't be graded on this project.
