Risks and Challenges

City Nova is our first published board game and our first crowdfunding campaign. We believe it is important to be transparent about that with our backers. At the same time, we have approached this project with extensive preparation and with a strong focus on making the production process as reliable as possible.

To help us achieve this, we are working closely with LongPack Games, an experienced board game manufacturer that has produced many high-quality tabletop games. Throughout the development and preparation of City Nova, we are collaborating with their team regarding manufacturing methods, materials, component specifications, packaging, durability, and overall production quality. Their experience helps us make informed decisions and prepare the game for large-scale manufacturing.

The game, its components, artwork, and overall design are already well advanced, but what you see during the campaign should not necessarily be considered the absolute final production version. During pre-production, sampling, testing, and mass-production preparation, certain details may still be adjusted. These can include materials, colors, finishes, component dimensions, construction methods, packaging, or other technical specifications.

Any such changes will be made with one objective: to achieve the best possible quality for the final game. We will not intentionally reduce the quality of components simply to make production easier or cheaper. Where adjustments are necessary, we will work with our manufacturing partner to find solutions that maintain or improve the intended experience, durability, appearance, and functionality of the game.

As with any physical board game production, unforeseen circumstances can occur. Manufacturing schedules can change, components may require additional testing or revisions, materials can become temporarily unavailable, and international freight, customs, or other logistical circumstances can cause delays. While we will plan carefully to minimize these risks, it would not be realistic for us to claim that they cannot happen.

If unexpected issues arise, our priority will be to solve them properly rather than rush production at the expense of quality. We will also keep our backers informed about significant developments, production milestones, and any circumstances that could meaningfully affect the expected delivery schedule.

Most importantly, we see backing City Nova as placing trust not only in the game, but also in us as its creators. We take that responsibility seriously. Our goal is to deliver a finished product that meets the quality presented and promised throughout this campaign—and, wherever the production process allows us to improve it, to make the final version even better.
