CityScape Vancouver
CityScape is a card game for 2-4 players set in four real Vancouver neighbourhoods: Downtown, Grandview-Woodland, Kitsilano and Mount Pleasant.
Play as a developer, guided by a private agenda. Each round, locations come up for auction. Win the places you need, build them into neighbourhoods, and grow your Portfolio Value. The first player to reach $40M wins, the moment they get there.
Every location is a real place you can visit: a cafe on Main, a gallery off Granville, a park you've walked through, the iconic art installation on the ridge. They're illustrated by Vancouver artists, and each artist is credited on the card.

The full game runs free in your browser, on desktop or phone. Same cards, same rules, same auction. https://cityscapevancouver.net/
How a game plays
- Bid. Locations go to auction every round. Bids are secret and revealed at once. Spend enough to win, and keep enough for various events.
- Build. Local businesses, culture, parks and landmarks fill out your neighbourhoods. Every property adds to your Portfolio Value.
- Disrupt. Collect revenue from your businesses, play city events, and fund community investment to win civic awards.
- Develop. Fill every slot in a neighbourhood, landmark included, to develop it for a $5M portfolio bonus. Commit to a Developer Agenda early enough, and hitting it can swing the game by as much as $22M.
Reach $40M first. It can happen mid-turn, off a single build, an award or an agenda.
What's in the box
144 cards, a folded rules sheet and a die, in a First Edition box made for this campaign.
The Portfolio Pack
Fifteen holographic cards in a sealed wrapper: ten locations from the game in holo, plus five Off the Map cards from neighbourhoods beyond the four in the box. It's only available here, at Investor and above.
Where it came from
CityScape started as a design question: what would Vancouver look like as a set of trading cards? The game grew around the answer. It's designed by Sam Parker, a Vancouver graphic designer, illustrated with artists from across the city.
Local Spots
Free CityScape cards are sitting at businesses that appear in the game. Collect them during the campaign for a chance to win one of three Developer tiers. Prizes are awarded only if the campaign funds. Full rules: https://cityscapevancouver.net/local-spots/rules/
What the $15,000 covers
Manufacturing and packaging for the first print run, the holographic Portfolio Pack, artist licensing, and fulfillment.
Timeline
Physical prototypes are done and the game has been through extensive live playtesting. Final manufacturer quotes are coming in now, and production starts after the campaign closes on November 12. Estimated delivery: April 2027.
