Strong relationships do not happen by accident. They grow when two people intentionally make time to communicate, appreciate one another and enjoy meaningful moments together.

But busy schedules, work, parenting and everyday pressures can make even committed couples feel disconnected.

The Couples Connection Box was created to help change that.

What is the Couples Connection Box?

Closer Together is a guided relationship experience designed for all committed couples, regardless of faith or background.

It provides simple, enjoyable activities that help couples talk openly, understand each other better, express appreciation and create new memories together—all from the comfort of home.

No complicated rules. No professional experience required. Simply choose an activity, put distractions aside and make time for each other.

What will be inside?

The first edition is planned to include:

• 100 meaningful conversation cards

• 30 romantic challenge cards

• 20 appreciation cards

• A couples’ connection journal

• Date-night ideas

• A love-language activity

• Monthly relationship check-in sheets

• Connection tokens

• Two pencils

• A mini conversation timer

• A simple instruction guide

• A durable keepsake storage box

The final contents and presentation may be refined following prototype testing and backer feedback.

How does it work?

1. Choose a card or activity together.

2. Remove distractions and focus on each other.

3. Answer honestly, listen carefully and enjoy the moment.

4. Record important discoveries or shared goals in your journal.

5. Return regularly and continue building your connection.

Couples can use the box weekly, during date nights, on anniversaries or whenever they want to reconnect.

Why we are creating it

Many couples love each other deeply but struggle to create intentional time for meaningful conversation.

Closer Together is not designed to replace professional counselling or therapy. It is a practical relationship tool that encourages healthy conversation, affection, teamwork and shared experiences.

Our vision is to help couples move beyond simply living together and begin intentionally growing together.

Why Kickstarter?

Our £25,000 funding goal will help us move from concept development to professional production.

The funds are expected to support:

• Prototype development and testing

• Writing, editing and professional design

• Printing and manufacturing

• Durable product packaging

• Quality-control checks

• Shipping and fulfilment preparation

• Kickstarter and payment-processing fees

• A contingency allowance for unexpected costs

Kickstarter backers will help us produce the first edition and bring this relationship-building idea into homes.

Our production plan

After a successful campaign, we will finalise the card content and product specifications, approve a physical sample, begin manufacturing, complete quality checks and prepare rewards for delivery.

Manufacturing and shipping can occasionally experience delays. We will build additional time into our schedule and communicate openly with backers through regular updates.

About the creator

My name is Daniel Akpai. I am an author, relationship educator, husband and father with a strong passion for helping couples build healthier and more meaningful relationships.

Through years of teaching and writing about marriage and personal growth, I have seen that many relationship problems begin when meaningful communication and intentional connection disappear.

Closer Together is my practical response: a simple tool couples can use repeatedly to strengthen their relationship.
