The Cat Sudoku: Clowder Token Collection is back with a new black cat token set and a charming physical companion game created for your Clowder tokens!

Meet Wish, the newest cat to join the collection. This elegant black token set can upgrade almost any tabletop game or climb into the action in Cat Tree: Time to Climb!

Previously available as a print-and-play game, Cat Tree is now becoming a professionally printed 20-card microgame. Play it with any tokens you have at home or bring it to life with your favorite Clowder Token Sets.

Meet Wish

Wish is the newest member of the Clowder Token Collection and our first black token set. Each Wish set includes:

• One large double-sided cat token
• Three medium double-sided cat tokens
• Ten small paw tokens (Five left paws and five right paws)

The large token is perfect as an active-player marker or character piece. The medium tokens can represent actions, companions, objectives, or special abilities. The small paw tokens work wonderfully as resources, score markers, damage, clues, currency, and more.

Wish can be used in nearly any tabletop game—and in all three physical games featured in this campaign.

Cat Tree: Time to Climb!

The cats are ready to climb but there is only so much room at the top!

In Cat Tree: Time to Climb!, players use their Clowder tokens as they compete to climb the cat tree. Choose your moves carefully, find the best position, and try to outmaneuver the other cats on your way to the top.

Players: 2–4
Playing time: Approximately 20 minutes

Cat Tree can be played with the new Wish set or any Clowder Token Set. Each player can use a different color, making every game easy to follow and wonderfully colorful.

No Clowder Tokens? No Problem!

The games was designed to complement the Clowder Token Collection, but you do not need to own a Clowder set to play. You may use tokens, cubes, pawns, or other suitable components from your own collection. However, we think everything becomes a little more fun when cats are involved!

How to Play Cat Tree

1) Set up the tree. Place the Cat Tree Base card on the table and the two-paw card above it. Shuffle a deck of 12 cards for two players, 18 for three, or 20 for four. Each player takes two cards and three paw tokens. 

2) Collect paws and grow the tree. At the start of your turn, collect two paws for each of your cats on the two-paw card and one paw for each cat on a one-paw card. Then play one card from your hand, connecting it to at least one branch. 

3) Add a cat, then move your cats. Place one of your cats on the base. You must place all three small cats before placing your big cat. Each of your cats may move one card up, down, or sideways for free. Spend one paw for each additional card it moves. 

4) Claim a perch or let a cat sleep. A card can hold only one cat, except the base. You can move onto an occupied card by paying paws to swap places with its cat. The cost depends on the cats’ sizes; sleeping cats cost two extra paws to displace. A cat that starts your turn on a perch can sleep instead of moving, making its perch harder to steal. Draw a card to refill your hand at the end of your turn. 

5) Score the tree. When all the cards have been played, score each cat on a perch: one point for a small cat or three for a big cat, plus points equal to its tree level. A dish perch adds one more point. Every two unused paws score one point. Cats left on the base do not score.

Clowder Token Sets are collections of adorable wooden cat tokens designed to add personality and a touch of cat magic to your tabletop games. Use them to replace ordinary pawns, cubes, markers, first-player tokens, action tokens, resources, or other components. There is no single correct way to use them. Choose your favorite cat and make the game your own!

Every cat loves a new toy, especially when it appears near the top of the cat tree!

When this stretch goal is unlocked, the Go Fish! expansion card will be added to every physical copy of Cat Tree: Time to Climb! at no additional cost.

Go Fish! gives a new cat the opportunity to jump higher into the tree instead of climbing one tier at a time. By spending Paw Tokens, players can help their cats reach better positions more quickly, creating new strategic choices and exciting competition for the highest perches.

Why We Are Returning to Kickstarter

The first Clowder campaign introduced seven colorful cats and three experimental print-and-play Companion Games. Your support gave these small games a chance to grow beyond their original downloadable editions.

For this campaign, we selected Cat Tree: Time to Climb! to become the first professionally printed Clowder Companion Game. By producing Cat Tree alongside the new Wish Token Set, we can offer backers a fun new way to put their Clowder tokens into action.
