Collectorium: Trade. Display. Protect.

We're Antsy Labs, the guys who invented the original Fidget Cube.
We're also collectors, who were tired of the old way of keeping collectibles... so we changed it.
Our collections span across many fandoms, in TCGs as well as enamel pins. Over the years and after countless trips to the parks for pin trading, or our LGS for game events or card trading, we realized that the way we stored our collections hadn't caught up to the way we actually lived with them.
Our trading setups couldn't easily be displayed at home. Our display setups couldn't travel. And the collectibles we invested so much in spent most of their lives zipped away in the dark.
The solution we designed is built on these three ideas:
Trade. Your collection should be easy to take on the go, whether you're trading or showing off your collectibles.
Display. Your collection should be enjoyed and on display, not hidden away.
Protect. Your collection should be secure, and kept safe from scratches, dents, and other damage.
What is Collectorium?
Collectorium™ is a modular, expandable system that allows you to take your collections with you, display them so you can actually enjoy them, and protect them so they last for years.
As collectors, we put a lot of time, energy, and finances into curating our collections. We've stood in lines for drops, raced online against bots and scalpers, and spent ages building out what is an expression of our fandoms and interests ... all to just store most of our collectibles in things like folder and card boxes that hide them away.
Who is Collectorium for?
We built Collectorium™ for TCG players, pin traders, anyone who has a favorite fandom and a growing pile of collectibles that needs to be organized!
Until now, you could invest in a system for your cards, but none of that is compatible with your collectibles that aren't cards, like pins - and vice versa. We designed Collectorium so that every piece works with every other piece in the system.
With Collectorium, you have a single system that works across collectibles types and grows with the size of your collection.
How does Collectorium compare?
It's been about 5 years since our last Kickstarter (this one is our 12th overall!). And it's not that we haven't had the itch to be back on Kickstarter, but rather because we knew that the next project we launched needed to be an idea that excited us enough to bring it back to this community we've all built together over the years.
Collectorium is that idea.
Kickstarter feels like home to us, and we know that's a sentiment shared by many in our community - from the early days on the platform, through Fidget Cube, up until now.
We're proud of each project that has come to fruition through Kickstarter, and appreciate that this platform allows us to continue operating Antsy Labs independently from any outside traditional funding and influences.
Meet the system.
Here's every piece of Collectorium, what it does, and how it clicks into everything else!
The Vault, Vault (Display), and Pack come in your choice of two colorways: Heather Grey and Charcoal. You'll pick yours in the pledge manager after the campaign.
Collectorium Pack
The Collectorium Pack is what holds the whole system together.
With enough space to fit the Collectorium Vault inside, as well as room for a deck box, a water bottle and rolled-up Mat in the side pockets, and the everyday things you'd expect a great backpack to carry.
Made with premium, water-resistant fabric, the first thing you'll notice is that it doesn't necessarily look like collector gear. It looks like a backpack you'd actually want to wear every day, because it is. The collector features are hiding in plain sight.
Flip down the Spotlight flap and show off the cards and pins that deserve to be seen by others. Or flip the flap up to hide your most valuable collectibles.
The Spotlight window is molded from a rigid, crystal-clear material, so what's behind it looks displayed, not shrink-wrapped. No waves, no warping, no cloudy flex plastic.
There's also a dedicated hidden pocket inside, sized for an Apple AirTag. It sits flat and invisible, and when your whole collection is on your back, that little bit of extra peace of mind goes a long way.
Because Collectorium won't exist without your support, we're including a special, 1st edition label stitched into the interior of each Pack. Collectorium Kickstarter backers are the only collectors who'll have this label in their Pack, as it won't be included in future production runs.
Collectorium Vault
The Collectorium Vault is at the very core of the Collectorium system, as it serves as the home for whatever inserts you choose (Boards, Binders, or a mix of both).
Carry it in the Pack.
Wear it as a crossbody (vertically or horizontally).
Store it at home, where you can easily access any Boards you're not currently putting on display.
Every slot in the Vault, Vault (Display), and Vault (Mini) is separated by a padded divider, so your Boards and Binders never rub, bump, or scratch against each other in transit. No floppy plastic sheets that bend, nick, and end up looking worn after one season.
Collectorium Vault (Display)
Just like the Collectorium Vault, but with a twist: a beautiful, near edge-to-edge window that lets you show off a single Board.
Perhaps you're planning on using the Collectorium Vault in one spot more than any other: on a shelf, on your desk, or set out at trade meetups where your best Board should be doing the talking. That's exactly what the Vault (Display) is for. Your favorite Board stays visible even when everything is packed away.
Just like the Spotlight window in the Pack, The Vault (Display) window is molded from a rigid, crystal-clear material, so what's behind it looks displayed, not shrink-wrapped. No waves, no warping, no cloudy flex plastic.
Any reward tier that includes a Vault can be switched to the Vault (Display) for the difference in price when you confirm your pledge after the campaign.
Collectorium Vault (Mini)
We designed the Collectorium system to be experienced as a whole, including the Pack. But we of course realize that some folks prefer to have a more compact setup to carry around with them!
Enter: the Collectorium Vault (Mini).
When we finished designing the standard Vault, we reworked it to fit perfectly inside most mini backpacks: Loungefly minis, Jansport minis, Fjallraven minis.
No need to choose between wearing your favorite mini backpack or using Collectorium - the Vault (Mini) holds 5 Boards (Mini), and up to 160 total pins.
Collectorium Boards
The Collectorium Board is the standard insert that fits into the Vault and Vault (Display).
Constructed with specialized foam and a high quality fabric covering, each Board is the perfect backdrop for your pins.
Each Board is double-sided and holds up to 70 one-inch pins (35 per side), pressed straight into the foam. No pin backs required.
TCG players, we didn't forget about you! Using the Collectorium Case, you have the option to feature your more valuable cards and display them right on the Board, side by side with your pins. Up to 8 Cases fit per side.
Collectorium Boards (Mini)
The Boards (Mini) are the same idea, sized specifically for the Vault (Mini): the same specialized foam, the same fabric covering, holding up to 32 pins each (16 per side).
Five of them fill a Vault (Mini), and yes, they mount on the Rails at home too. Your park-day setup and your wall display are the same pieces.
Collectorium Board (Pocket)
Let's say you come across a pin board in the parks and you don't want to open up your Pack or Vault. Not a problem!
Carry your Board (Pocket) with you and you'll have quick access to approx. 12 pins in a second.
Collectorium Board (Spotlight)
The Board (Spotlight) is secured in place within its own dedicated zippered compartment inside the Pack. Removing it and swapping out the collectibles you're wanting to show off is as easy as opening the main Pack compartment and accessing it.
The Spotlight window is molded from a rigid, crystal-clear material, so what's behind it looks displayed, not shrink-wrapped. No waves, no warping, no cloudy flex plastic.
Collectorium Binder
Each Collectorium Binder has a total of 8 pages, outfitted with side-loading pockets (9 per side), for a total of 144 cards per Binder.
5 of them fit into a Vault, allowing you to effortlessly carry or store 720 cards.
Collectorium Case
If you're like us, you might not keep your most valuable cards in the Binder, but rather in a Case where they're protected even further.
But instead of just propping each individual Case up on a stand or on the wall, we've designed the Collectorium Case to have two pin posts on the backside, allowing you to secure them to any Collectorium Board just as you would with trading pins.
Collectorium Rail
The Collectorium Rail is how your collection gets from the Vault to the wall. Each Rail mounts once - after that, your Boards (or Binder) slide in from the side whenever you want a change.
With nothing mounting the Board directly to the wall, it's as easy as simply sliding out a Board and sliding in a new one if you want to change your setup.
Traditional pin boards are how we've gotten by until now, but once you've arranged your pins on a traditional board, you don't have the option of taking it down and on the go with you. Likewise, if you've used pin folders as we have in the past, you have the option to take it with you on the go, but when you're at home, there's no way to easily display them and enjoy your collection.
Collectorium Beacon
One of our favorite elements of Collectorium, the Beacon lets you express yourself beyond showing off your Spotlight collection.
The uses of Beacon will only be limited by the imagination of the Collectorium community, but we envision Beacon being used by:
- Pin traders at the parks to indicate to each other if they're actively looking to trade or taking a break
- Pin traders who want to communicate what characters, themes, etc. they're in search of
- Card collectors at cons who want the whole aisle to know what they're chasing before a single word is said
- Friends just expressing themselves through a fun message, an inside joke, or whatever the moment calls for
Beacon is invisible when it's off, and instantly seen when it's on.
Collectorium Mat
For TCG players and pin traders alike, we designed the Collectorium Mat to not just be your standard playmat, but rather a platform that helps facilitate your trades.
After years of trading pins in Disney parks, we noticed that every trade starts with the same two questions: what's actually up for trade, and what are you hunting for? The Mat answers both before the conversation even starts. The front side is divided into a "Yours" zone and a "Mine" zone, so both traders always know whose is whose, plus a center window for the pins or cards you're in search of. Set a couple of Stitch pins there, and everyone walking by knows exactly what you're after.
Flip it over and the back is a clean, full-size play surface for game night, any game, at any table. It measures 30" x 14" (76.2 x 35.5 cm), and rolls up to travel (fitting perfectly in the exterior side pocket of the Pack.
For backers who choose The Complete System, every Mat will also include a Band + Emblem, which can be used to secure the Mat when it's rolled up. And because the Band is a slap bracelet at heart, between trades it wears right on your wrist, Emblem facing out.
Collectorium Pin
We couldn't make a collectibles system for pin traders and not also make a custom enamel pin, could we?!
The Collectorium Pin is made using hard enamel, for a beautiful, smooth finish that lets you put the Collectorium shield directly in your hands.
It measures 1.5", and features two pin posts on the back for secure placement on your Board.
How do I use Collectorium?
Load your Vault the night before, and the morning is just grab-and-go. Trade from your Boards at trading spots or Cast Member boards, keep your grails protected and ready to show off behind the Spotlight window, and turn the Beacon on when you're open for business.
Rain in the forecast? Not to worry, the Pack has you and your pins covered, thanks to its high-quality water-resistant construction..
No unpacking at the table, no re-sleeving in line. Your Boards and Binders are ready to show, exactly how you organized them at home, and the Mat turns any flat surface into a proper trading table in about ten seconds.
Not only is Collectorium ready for days at the parks or at a con, it's also just as comfortable being brought along to game night, whether at a friend's house or your LGS.
The Pack earns its spot at game night too: a deck box up top, the Mat rolled into the side pocket, Binders in the Vault. And if you're traveling extra light, just clip on the Vault Strap and the Vault travels with you, crossbody style.
When you arrive back home, you can slide the Boards you want to see straight onto the Rails, and keep the rest organized in the Vault until it's their turn on the wall. Your collection stops living in a closet and starts living on display, and swapping the lineup takes seconds, not an afternoon.
Choose your Collectorium (Rewards)
For believing in our idea that there's got to be a better system for collectors, we have a number of rewards to show our appreciation to you.
However you collect, there's a setup below that costs less than the blind-luck alternative from your hobby. And unlike those, you know exactly what you're getting. ;)
You're collectors, which means you know how a good trade works. You bring something to the table, the other side brings something better, everybody walks away happy.
So here's our table!
For the stretch goals in this project, we're introducing Trade Points, and when the community racks up 100 Trade Points, we'll unlock our first stretch goal! Each future stretch goal will be worth its own value of points. Here's what earns points:
We'll post the Trade Mat graphic with the live tally in every update and do our best to stay on top of dropping mid-week counts in the project page comments so you always know where we stand and how close we are to unlocking the goal.
Backer Edition Pin: UNLOCKED!
Figurine Shelf: UNLOCKED!
How to get points counted:
Just drop links to collection photos in the comments or tag @antsylabs with #Collectorium, and link your Reddit or TikTok posts in the campaign comments so we can add them to the board!
Want an extra Vault for easy storage at home, another 5-pack of Boards for your wall, or a Binder for the deck you just finished? Every piece of the Collectorium system is available as an add-on, so your setup fits your collection exactly.
Add whatever add-on you'd like to your pledge, and you'll confirm your final selections, colorways, etc. in the pledge manager after the campaign ends.
Who's behind this?
Some of you have been with us since our earliest days on Kickstarter, but if that's not you, here's a little bit about us!
We're Matthew and Mark McLachlan, and we make up the two-person team that is Antsy Labs.
Throughout the design process for Collectorium, we worked closely with an incredibly talented backpack and soft goods designer, Jonathan Krehwinkel of Studio-Jk. The collaborative relationship we've built with Jonathan over the past couple years has given us the utmost confidence in every last detail that we pored over for Collectorium.
This is our 12th project here on Kickstarter, and we've successfully delivered every single funded one.
Thank you for your support and your belief in the idea behind Collectorium! We're glad to have you along for the ride.
You've joined us on this journey... now what?
You share Collectorium with your friends, we share the pledge with you!
Tap here to grab your personal link to share, and we'll send you 5% of every pledge that comes through it. Our thank you for helping us grow the Collectorium community. Sounds like a fair trade to us!
We really can't build the Collectorium community without you! Connect with us using the links below, and share the project with your friends and family.
Where are you in the process?
The idea for Collectorium™ was born several years ago, during a family trip to Walt Disney World.
Each of us, along with our families, have succumbed to the allure of Disney Pin Trading. And as our collections grew over time, so did the question of whether or not the folders and bags we used were as good of a solution as it was going to get.
So we began asking ourselves what our biggest frustrations were in the hobby, and started making a list of ways that we could solve those. Very early on, we realized that it made sense to not only make this system for pin trading, but to also include TCGs in the mix (with cards being another obsession of ours).
As these ideas became more and more formed, we saw an opportunity to extend what we were designing beyond a singular backpack and into the full developed, modular system that exists today as Collectorium.
The shots of Collectorium that you see on this page (except for the early development examples above) and in our project video are essentially at the absolute most developed point that we take a product prior to getting the golden sample from our manufacturing partners.
What that means is that in the final days of the project, we will be aiming to get the golden sample (basically the gold standard of what every production unit will need to match), and once we have that, we'll be ready to place the full production order... and get Collectorium into your hands!
We'll be shipping rewards worldwide. Estimated delivery for all rewards is December 2026.
You won't pay for shipping today. After the campaign ends, you'll confirm your pledge in our pledge manager, and that's where shipping is calculated for your exact address and reward. Taxes and VAT, where applicable, are handled there too, based on your region. We do it this way so you're never guessing at rates during the campaign, and so international backers get real numbers instead of a one-size-fits-nobody estimate.
Finally, an honest heads up from us after a decade of doing this: international shipping costs and customs policies can shift between now and fulfillment. If anything changes in a way that affects you, you'll hear it from us directly and plainly, the same way we've handled it on every project before this one.
You've got questions.
Being longtime collectors ourselves, we're not blind to the fact that you may already have a system you use. You may like it, or it may simply be good enough.
Our goal with Collectorium is for it to be the final system you'll ever need to use, regardless of what you collect. And we believe that you'll agree with us once you get the system in your hands.
With cards and pins being what we are most into, we made the decision to build the Collectorium system starting with solutions for those two areas specifically. With that said, we're well aware that there are many collectibles communities and genres beyond these.
We have some ideas currently in development that will result in the expansion of Collectorium beyond cards and pins. The larger we can grow the Collectorium community, the sooner we'll be able to make these ideas a reality. Stay tuned...
The Vault (Mini) is about 20.5cm wide, 10cm deep, and 19cm tall, and it fits every Loungefly mini, Jansport mini, and Fjallraven mini backpack we've tested.
First off, welcome! Here's a quick explanation: if you want to be a part of the Collectorium community, you pledge now, and your card is only charged when the campaign ends. After that, we build, and then we ship. You're backing the project, and we keep you posted at every step, the same way we have on every project we've run.
If you've made it this far: thank you. Genuinely.
Every project we've launched on Kickstarter has been built with the help of this community, and Collectorium exists because we knew we weren't alone in our belief that the old ways of carrying and storing the things we love weren't good enough. We think every collection deserves better than a shoebox, and we think that every fandom deserves a home.
Whether you back the whole Collectorium system, grab a single Board, or just share the project with a friend who would love it, you're part of bringing this idea to life! We can't do it without you.
Thank you,
Team Antsy Labs (The McLachlan Brothers)

As is the case with any pre-production prototype or sample, there are bound to be a number of elements that may end up being modified slightly for the final production version. The vast majority of details will not be changed from what we're debuting here on Kickstarter. But there are some aspects that may change marginally in production from what is shown here (e.g., small details such as the metal badges on the Pack and Vaults might bear the Collectorium logo instead of the Antsy Labs logo in the final product).
