—description de l’éditeur

Présentation de la campagne

Commercium™ – The Silk Route Empires is a competitive unit-placement game for 2–5 players, set across the Roman, Parthian, Kushan, and Han Empires of the 1st century AD.

Players travel from empire to empire, buying and selling historically valuable goods unique to each region while competing for limited opportunities on a shared board. A different global objective and changing selection of merchants with specialized abilities create new combinations and priorities each game, rather than rewarding a fixed strategy.

The central tension comes from choosing your own secret objectives: taking on more creates greater scoring potential, but unfinished objectives carry penalties. Rivals may claim resources you were counting on, turning long-term plans into tactical decisions about when to commit, when to pivot, and when to pursue a different opportunity.

Easy to learn but highly variable, Commercium™ combines competitive unit placement, asymmetric abilities, push-your-luck objective selection, and multiple paths to victory.

All art, components, rules, and materials shown are subject to change as we refine the final product.

How Crowdfunding Works on Gamefound

Crowdfunding on Gamefound has 4 basic steps.

Step 1: Follow the project. Follow the project to show your support and get updates on the game.
Step 2: Pledge during the funding campaign. When the game's creator (me) feel I have enough followers to make the game a success, I'll start the funding campaign. Right now, I feel that it could be February 2027. The funding campaign will last 1 month. During this time if you want to support the game's creation you can pledge something. A typical pledge would be the discounted price of 1 game for which you will receive the game.
Step 3: The project reaches the funding goal, or it doesn't. If the project receives enough pledges to reach its funding goal, then the game gets produced and you receive the reward level you pledged for. At this point your credit card is charged. If the project does not reach its funding goal, you are not charged. You pay and receive nothing.
Step 4: Shipping. Your game or other rewards you pledged for are shipped to you.

What Playtesters Are Saying

AI Disclosure

Due to a poll, though the vote was close, I've removed the partially AI generated box cover image for a new one I've generated myself, mostly in Photoshop and using R for the map projection. Primarily my philosophy is to use AI to teach myself how to do things which I've done extensively. That said I have used it in a more pure sense to generate a few illustrative images for the objective cards and I used it to "dress up" the merchants which were otherwise based on real pictures of people from the appropriate regions. The side decorations on the merchant cards are primarily based on museum relics from the appropriate cultures that I've then modified in Photoshop for fit, color, etc. Whatever the method of production I looked over everything carefully and used alternative designs or alternative production methods for anything that didn't meet my vision. I hope you like the results.
