Conan is an asymmetric, scenario-driven adventure game built around energy management, coordination and tactical choices.

Energy is everything.

At the heart of the game is energy management.

Each Hero has a pool of Energy Gems used to move, attack, defend, reroll dice and perform actions. Spend heavily and you can accomplish more now — but you may leave yourself exhausted and vulnerable when your enemies strike back.

The Heroes share a common turn: one Hero can act, hand over to another, then return to the action later before the Heroes’ turn ends. Knowing when to spend energy, when to recover and how to coordinate is at the heart of the game.

The Overlord plays by different rules. Using the Book of Skelos, they spend energy to activate units along the River, or to reroll their attacks and defense rolls. Recently activated units become more expensive to use again, rewarding careful timing and tactical choices.

For newcomers, the King Pledge, is the main entry point into the game. For €89 excl. VAT, it brings together the core game and its original Stretch Goals in two large boxes containing 227 miniatures, 3 double-sided boards, 25 Hero sheets, 156 tiles, 21 dice and 16 scenarios.

Additional pledge options are available for players looking for the new expansions, returning classics, or a more complete Conan collection.

Three Ways to Play the Board Game

Adventure Mode
Heroes face a human-controlled Overlord in asymmetric, objective-driven scenarios. Included in the King Pledge.

Solo / Co-op
The Heroes use the same core rules, but no player is required to take the role of the Overlord. Instead, each scenario uses automated commands to control the Overlord’s forces. Included in the King Pledge.

Versus Mode
Two players build opposing forces and face each other directly, each commanding their army through their own Book of Skelos. Requires the separate Versus expansion.

Two new major expansions take Conan from the pirate haven of Tortage to the shadowed streets and forbidden towers of Zamora, while the Origins Box brings twelve characters from Conan: The Hyborian Age into the Board Game.

Each major expansion includes six new scenarios, with three for Solo/Co-op play and three for Adventure Mode.

Tortage

Pirates, cursed relics, necromancers and horrors from beneath the sea await in Tortage.

The expansion takes the Heroes from the streets and beaches of the pirate haven to battles aboard fully playable ships, with separate deck and hold areas creating new tactical possibilities.

Tortage also introduces new rules built around its maritime setting. Water becomes a deadly part of the battlefield through the new Drown skill and the Dagon’s Embrace spell, while equipment such as the Grappling Hook creates new ways to move through the environment.

The expansion also includes the ship half-boards originally released in Tales of the Red Brotherhood, at no additional cost. Cover art by Jens Lindfors.

Zamora

Thieves, sorcerers, cultists and creatures of nightmare haunt the streets of Zamora.

The expansion explores locations ranging from a Lotus Den to the Tower of the Elephant, whose multiple levels are connected through the Silver Stairs mini-board.

Zamora introduces new spells, equipment and the Blessings of the Spider-God, a deck of effects that increases the strength and variability of the Overlord from turn to turn. Two of the included scenarios are specifically built around these Blessings, but the cards can also be used in other Adventure Mode and Solo/Co-op scenarios for an additional challenge. Origins Box: 12 New Characters Join the Board Game

The Origins Box brings the twelve playable Origins from Conan: The Hyborian Age into Conan: The Board Game.

The twelve characters cover all four Solo/Co-op archetypes: Warrior, Rogue, Sorcerer and Sellsword. They can be selected as Heroes in Solo/Co-op or used in place of suggested Heroes in Adventure Mode.

Each character also comes with a dedicated Equipment card and tile. The Equipment cards can be introduced into the Asset deck, while the tiles open the door to using these characters in other roles and in your own custom scenarios.

The 12 miniatures can also be used to represent characters directly in Conan: The Hyborian Age. Cover art by Jens Lindfors.

Tortage, Zamora and Origins are all included in the Board Game New Content Pledge for €99 excl. VAT. They are also available separately.

The campaign also introduces three new products designed to bring more of your existing Conan Board Game collection back to the table.

Tales of High Adventure

Tales of High Adventure collects 23 Adventure Mode scenarios in one volume, including 8 brand-new scenarios and 15 previously available only digitally.

The book also includes an Artbook section gathering artwork from previous Conan campaigns. Cover art by Alex Horley.

A detailed breakdown of the Conan products required to play each scenario will be provided in a dedicated campaign update.

Chronicles of the Free Companions

Chronicles of the Free Companions collects 37 Solo/Co-op scenarios, including 25 previously available only digitally and 12 new Solo/Co-op adaptations of Adventure Mode scenarios from Stygia, Nordheim and Khitai.

The book also includes the Solo/Co-op rules, making it a single reference for bringing a large part of the existing Conan collection into Solo and cooperative play. Cover art by Alex Horley.

Storage Box

More than ten years of Conan releases have produced a lot of smaller boxes. The new Storage Box brings your smaller Conan expansions together in one dedicated box.

It is designed to hold the following 19 add-ons: the Xavier Colette Box, Brom Box, Paolo Parente Box, Frazetta Box, Crossbowmen, Vanir Valkyrie, Kushite Witch-Hunters, Black Ones, Baal-Pteor, Black Dragons, Sabertooth Tiger, Giant Wolves, Demon of the Earth, Adventure Pack, Base Rings, Dragon, Yogah of Yag, Hidden Chambers and Worms from the Earth. The Storage Box is sold empty. The products listed above are NOT included.

Tales of High Adventure, Chronicles of the Free Companions and the Storage Box are not included in the Board Game New Content Pledge and are available separately as Add-ons.

These three products were designed primarily for existing Conan collections, and every collection is different. Rather than automatically including scenario books that may require content you do not own, or a Storage Box you may not need, we chose to let each player add only the products that make sense for their collection.

Everything You Need in One Core Book

The 220-page-plus Core Book gives players and Game Masters everything they need to create characters and adventures in the Hyborian Age: character creation, the complete rules, sorcery, enemies and encounters, guidance for the Game Master, and three ready-to-play Tales.

But it is also a guide to Conan’s world.

The Hyborian World explores the lands, kingdoms and regions of the setting, including places visited by Conan and lands beyond his travels. The History of the Hyborian Age retraces the history of this legendary era, with a detailed chronology of Conan’s own adventures as told by Robert E. Howard.

Whether you already know Conan or are entering the Hyborian Age for the first time, the Core Book provides the setting, context and tools needed to create your own stories within that world.

The RPG can be played entirely on its own. But optional rules also allow you to use Conan board game maps during encounters, while miniatures can represent characters, enemies and creatures directly on the table.

Upon a Blood Red Tide

Take to the Barachan seas for a life of piracy and adventure. Upon a Blood Red Tide is a complete guide to pirates, piracy and the Barachan Isles. Explore pirate culture and rival factions, the ports and islands of the Barachans, life aboard ship and the people, places and motivations that shape a pirate’s life in the Hyborian Age. New Origin: From the Bloodstained Tide. Create characters shaped by a life of piracy and discover what drives them to take to the sea.

Rules of the Sea. Rules for sailing and navigation, crews and vessels, ship-to-ship combat, boarding actions and maintaining a ship.

New Skills & Spells. Additional character options for adventures at sea, including new magic that can affect ships and summon creatures from beneath the waves.

Complete Campaign: The Amulet of Bones. A five-part linked campaign that takes the characters from servitude into a life of piracy, through cursed islands and rival crews, and ultimately into conflict with a powerful sorcerer and the kraken under his command.

Shadows of Zamora

Enter a land of thieves, assassins, cults and hidden powers, where opportunity and treachery walk the same streets. Shadows of Zamora is a complete guide to the nation, from its history and the twin cities of Arenjun and Shadizar to Yezud, the lair of the Spider-God, and the many cults that operate across the land. New Origin: From the Shadows. Create a character whose life has been shaped by a cult, whether as a current member, a former initiate or through another connection of your choosing.

Cults of Zamora. Explore the cults operating throughout the nation, their influence, initiations and the part they can play in your own campaigns.

Lost Magic & New Skills and Spells. Expand character options with new Skills and spells, including additions to existing disciplines such as Alchemy and Black Magic, alongside the ancient secrets of Lost Magic.

Complete Campaign: Serpents of Zamora. A three-part linked campaign beginning with a ritual murder and drawing the characters into the schemes of a serpent cult whose influence reaches deep into the city and threatens all of Zamora.

Bring Your Characters to the Table

The Origins Box includes 12 miniatures based on the playable Origins from Conan: The Hyborian Age, giving you ready-to-use representations for characters from across the Hyborian world.

The same box also includes Hero sheets, tiles and Equipment cards for Conan: The Board Game, making all 12 characters usable in both game lines.

For newcomers to Conan: The Board Game.

Board Game New Content Pledge

For players who already own Conan: The Board Game and want the three new releases.

A full branching Adventure Mode campaign built around 19 scenarios.

Each campaign takes you through 8 of the 19 scenarios, with victories and defeats changing the road ahead. Heroes and Overlord earn experience, improve their abilities and manage equipment as the story unfolds, giving the campaign multiple paths and real replayability.
The book also includes an Artbook section devoted to the world and artwork of Conan.

The complete campaign requires the King Pledge content.

20 Adventure Mode scenarios to bring more of your Conan collection back to the table.

Designed for 2 to 5 players, The Book of Set combines 20 scenarios with illustrated profiles of heroes, creatures and distant lands from Conan’s world.

Own the King + Stretch Goals content? 10 scenarios are ready to play without any additional add-on. The other 10 put classic add-ons back to work: Yogah of Yag and Kushite Witch Hunters are each used in 2 scenarios, while Giant Wolves, Black Dragons, Sabertooth Tiger, Brom Guest Box, Crossbowmen, Dragon and Baal-Pteor are each used in 1.

Only Yogah’s Rebirth requires two additional add-ons: Kushite Witch Hunters + Yogah of Yag.

We have done everything to find the best compromise between price and service. For some destinations, the fees are still high, but they are the only ones we have been able to obtain that meet our requirements.
