🐶 A Card Game About Finding Dogs!
Dog Spotting is a series of micro games about finding hidden dogs in a crowd! Each game will test your ability to spot dogs before your opponents!
A game by Jason ToToTam. Featuring over unique hand-drawn cats by Liezl Ronquillo (@Vivinkart). We made Cat Spotting last year, and by popular demand, we decided to make Dog Spotting! I need your help to bring the game to life and want your dog to be part of the game!
📖 How to Play?
Players are competing to find the hidden dog in the crowd! Dogs that are hiding amongst other dogs in the“ Crowd Cards”. Be the first to spot the dog!
From this simple concept, I created 7 micro-games to test your competitive and co-operative dog-spotting skills!

🎲 Components
The current prototype has 55 dogs. Just like Cat Spotting, I plan to have 120 Dogs to spot and 4 sets of Crowd Cards.
🐾 Add Your Dog in the Game!
In Cat Spotting, Kickstarter backers got to be part of the game with Add-on Rewards to naming cats and having their cats in the final game. For Dog Spotting, we want your dog in the game!
Help bring the game to life, "adopt" some dogs to name and have your dog in the game with Add-Ons to your reward. Spots are limited, as there are only so many dogs we can add to the game and no late pledges on these, so Liz will have time to draw!

Get Your Dog in the Game! We have a limited number of spots open, so the earlier you support us, the cheaper it will be as a token of our gratitude for your early backing!
Once the campaign ends, I will send you a form to fill out for you to tell us about your dogs and send photos, and Liezl will draw your dog in the Dog Spotting style and will be in the game for everyone to spot!
"Adopt" a Dog - Add-On
Just like in Cat Spotting, every dog in our game will have their own name! There will be original dogs drawn by Liz, and I need your help to name them!
Add the Adopt a Dog add-on, and I'll send you a random dog to “adopt” for naming!

🎯 Funding Goals
As an indie game maker, I use Kickstarter to help fund and gauge interest. Making games is expensive, especially without outside investment. If we hit the funding goal, it won’t completely fund the project, but it will give me confidence to invest and continue the project. Higher funding goals allow me to do more with the project, with higher print runs and better quality card finishes, for instance. I don’t do any Kickstarter exclusives, as I want everyone to have everything I want to offer in the final product that the budget allows.
📦 Production and Shipping
I plan to use Hero Time as my manufacturing partner to produce my games, just like I did with Cat Spotting. I am using Next Smart Ship for fulfilment, allowing me to ship worldwide at competitive prices.
I’ve used them for my previous Kickstarter projects and have confidence they can bring a quality game to life and into your hands!
✈️ Shipping Cost Estimates & Pledge Manager
Shipping and applicable taxes (VAT) will be collected after the campaign closes through Kickstarter's Pledge Manager - you will not be charged shipping today.
I’ll be using Kickstarter’s Pledge Manager. This allows me to manage pledges, collect shipping and any additional taxes or duties after the campaign. The pledge manager will also allow you to modify your rewards and add-ons after the campaign. Here are my current shipping estimates (Add-on games will add to the cost of shipping).
🕙 Timeline
Liz still needs to draw more cats, and I need to add the final touches to the game. Ideally, I would love to get this to you before Christmas. However, from my experience, June/July onwards is an extremely busy period for manufacturers, and shipping may also be an issue in Q4 as it gets closer to the holidays.
This is a rough timeline. I strive to deliver my games to you promptly, avoiding lengthy production times, as I have done with my previous projects.
📘 The Story of Dog and Cat Spotting
This all started with a game I Kickstarted 2 years ago called Peep Spotting. It was a micro game about finding peeps in the crowd. The original Peep Spotting PNP is now available on my website!
My talented artist friend, Liezl Ronquillo (VivinkArt), wanted to make a cat version and reached out to collaborate.
🙋♂️ Backer Cats in the Game 🐱
Liz hand-drew over 100 cats! I also reached out to Peep Spotting backers to submit their cats to be in the game. I released a print-and-play to a positive reception! Players loved the Cat Spotting Print and Play, and I had requests to do a physical print run.
Last year, I launched a successful Kickstarter for Cat Spotting and made the game bigger and better! I now have 120 cats to spot, multiple crowd games to play with 6 different game modes!
Of course, after creating a cat game, everyone has been asking about whether there will be a dog version. So, I've decided to develop the doggy sequel to Cat Spotting, and Liezl is back to draw dogs, and this is your chance to have your dog in the game!

🐶 Dog Spotting Games
Just like Cat Spotting, Dog Spotting will have 7 game modes! I’m also developing a game that uses both Cats and Dogs for folks who have both games. Here is a video overview of the Cat Spotting games:
Game 1: Basic Dog Spotting
Be the first to spot the dog in the crowd of face-up crowd cards!
Game 2: Advance Dog Spotting
Be the first to spot the dog in the crowd and slap the card! The dog can be on any of the cards, including the face-down card.
Game 3: Dogs in the Hand!
Race to spot all the dogs in your hand!
Game 4: Dogs on the Table
Grab the dogs off the table if you see them in the crowd!
Game 5: Dogs Together
Work together (or solo) and find a stack of dogs in 2 minutes!
Game 6: Memory Dogs
See a crowd card for a limited time and call out how many dogs you can spot!
Game 7: Doggy Battle Royal
A game for big crowds. Don't get eliminated and be the last Dog Spotter standing!
BONUS GAMES
