—description de l’éditeur
Présentation de la campagne
DOOMSDAY: Innsmouth
They closed the case. They tried to burn the evidence. You get both.
Handmade Cthulhu Mythos artifacts + an investigative eldritch horror TTRPG scenario + Rare Doom Edition Elder Dice.
Made to be examined and displayed
You do not simply read it. You unseal it. You handle the papers. You study the stains, the spaces between the lines.
A library card should feel like a credential.
A sealed oath should make you hesitate.
Depending on the artifact, the letterpress printing, hand-applied aging, distressed edges, stamps, charcoal, wax, and signatures give the evidence its character. Hand-finished details vary from piece to piece, giving each work of art its individual character.
Feel the impression in the card. Examine the fibers of the oath. Spread the records across your desk and experience the artistry, passion, and authenticity firsthand.
Blood & Salt: investigate Wren’s death
Wren followed bus tickets, hotel ledgers, Marsh marriages, church transfers, restricted archives, and the wrong names written in the margins of the right books. In the Lower Library, he touched a sign he did not understand and, across distances that should have been impossible, something answered. A telegram arrived. A cipher took shape. Obadiah Marsh’s bitter pages opened like a wound. Wren finally understood what “doomsday” meant in Innsmouth. Not trumpets. Not fire. But blood. Patience. Infiltration. A coast handed over one generation at a time.
Thomas Wren gathered what evidence he could before the shadows of Innsmouth ultimately consumed him. You found some of it in his room. Some from deep within Miskatonic's unspeakable stacks. Some from the body itself. Some from places no sane man should have entered alone. You are not being asked to admire these things from behind glass. You are being asked to handle them. Read them. Compare them. Lay one piece beside another. Feel the artifacts from a dark world in your own hands. Weave in your own creativity and make the story your own.
One person hosts. The others follow the evidence.
Blood & Salt is an investigative horror roleplaying scenario for 1-6 people, featuring solo play but intended for 2-6 with a dedicated host
Study the records. Compare the contradictions. Decide how far your investigators will go for proof before the case disappears into the furnace.
The included digital material contains:
- A short rules summary and the Blood & Salt scenario.
- Additional adventure seeds.
- A print-ready Miskatonic University Library Card Player 4-Pack PDF with character sheets for Journalism, Physical Education, Medicine, and Folklore & Esoteric Studies.
The PDFs can be used on their own. Physical artifacts are optional for play, and give your table evidence to handle and reveal.
Prefer to collect? The artifacts and artwork can be enjoyed without running the scenario.
Gameplay
Set in 1928 Arkham, Massachusetts, players are students at Miskatonic University out to solve a mystery. Journalism student Thomas Wren has met a violent end in the marshes of Innsmouth. His death is officially ruled a shark attack, but his roommate claims it was murder.
This micro-RPG throws players immediately into the Essex County morgue to find their friend’s remains before cremation. Are there clues to what really happened? Or is there something worse lying in wait?
Every location offers opportunities to uncover clues and evidence, overcome obstacles, and face adversaries bent on keeping secrets. Players may have to avoid traps or escape horrors. Once a place has been explored or its terrors evaded, players decide where to go next, following what they’ve discovered or pursuing their own suspicions.
Once players have made three Evidence discoveries, they publish an article revealing their findings. Each surviving player narrates what becomes of their character after graduation, and the GM describes the impact of their article.
DOOMSDAY: Innsmouth uses a variant of the Eclipse D20 System, aimed at simple, fast, and intense gameplay. Checks and saves use a three-dice pool: a d20 and two modifier dice. Add the higher modifier result to the d20. Rolls have four possible outcomes:
Success: Things have gone according to plan. An attack deals damage, or damage from a foe is reduced.
Critical success: An exceptional action or reaction deals more damage or reduces more damage from a foe.
Miss: The action accomplishes nothing, at least not yet. An attack deals no damage, or damage from a foe is taken in full.
Backlash: If danger, harm, or disaster is already present, it happens. A failed roll does not create danger where none existed, and using a skill does not itself harm the character.
Players describe their students’ actions without having to consult the rules at every step. The rules come into play when needed.
Solo Play
Solo play is included with DOOMSDAY: Innsmouth. Keep a journal of your investigation or write it as a story. Roll dice as you explore locations and confront challenges to uncover details. Make three Evidence discoveries and move to the final scene. Your last journal entry reveals the mystery you’ve uncovered, the impact of your investigation, and what becomes of your character.
Doom Edition Vault
Not everything in this campaign was pulled from a desk drawer or found in a cold morgue. Some of it sat locked away in darkness, boxed and waiting.
The Doom Edition relics in this campaign are remnants of older tales. Surviving pieces from earlier campaigns. They are not recreations.
They are objects bearing the old marks. Marks of protection. Marks of chaos. Marks of death. Marks of the unspeakable. Scroll down to the Add-ons section to see the entire vault.

Add-On Vault
The Doom Edition Vault is still growing. Much more to come!
The Artist
DOOMSDAY: Innsmouth comes from Infinite Black, a small, independent, artist-owned studio founded in 2017 and led by David LaRocca.
David’s Marsh family portrait gives the case a horrifying face. The letterpress cards, aged documents, and sealed oaths bring it to life.
These are objects to collect, display, and put into the hands of the people at your table.
Handmade Artifact Process
No part of this evidence should feel new or untouched.
Depending on the artifact, it is pressed, torn, folded, aged, stamped, sealed, or signed by hand. Paper fibers take water differently when a person has already broken them. Wax spreads differently when it cools under a real hand-stamped seal. A stain changes the surface in a way print never can. That slight wrongness — the one that makes an object feel old instead of new — comes from human hands and judgment, not automation.
We treat each of your artifacts as a unique work of art.

Timeline
The work begins as soon as the case is funded.
Paper is ordered. Files go to print. Cards go under pressure. Edges are cut, bruised, and torn. Wax cools under the seal. The teeth go into blood-stained, cork-topped glass vials, then into specimen boxes. The evidence is packed. The postal ledger opens. The vault starts to empty.

This Is Your Chance
Thomas Wren died trying to put this in your hands.
The article was never printed. The body will be burned. The record is a lie. What remains is here — in the papers he carried, in the evidence they hid, in the oath they could not afford to let the daylight touch.
Back it now to take custody of the case before the file closes.
Questions answered
How many people play? Is the host included?
Group play is for 2–6 people total, including one dedicated host. Solo play is also included. The remaining one to five people play the investigators.
Do I need the physical artifacts to play?
No. The PDFs can be used alone. Every listed reward includes the digital material; the physical artifacts increase immersion, enhance your experience, and add a tactile layer to play.
Does a higher price include everything in a lower reward?
No. Each reward lists its own contents. Investigator’s signed archive lore card and unassigned General Access library card are specific to that reward; they are not included in higher tiers unless expressly listed.
Are the fossils real? Which reward includes them?
Yes, they are 100% genuine fossilized teeth collected in the field by the artist and creator, David LaRocca. They are nearly 85,000,000 years old, dating to the Late Cretaceous, the age of dinosaurs.
We encourage you to display them and use them in your game as in-world evidence. They are included at the $139 and $249 levels and come with the in-universe paleontologist's note and the Miskatonic University Museum of Natural History specimen card.
What is signed, and what is selected at random?
The portrait is artist-signed at $139 and $249. The grimoire box is signed at $59 and $249. The $99 reward includes a randomly selected artist-signed lore card.
Coins and other items explicitly described as random are selected for you. The Doomed’s nine-d6 tube is either Astral Elder Sign or Brand of Cthulhu.
What kind of horror should I expect?
Murder, disturbing medical evidence, body horror, and occult themes. Choose the material that suits your table.
Can I receive my Doom Edition rewards and add-ons before my artifacts?
An optional double-shipping option lets you receive your Doom Edition rewards and add-ons ahead of your artifacts. We plan to begin shipping those items in December 2026, with artifact fulfillment planned for March 2027. Shipping is charged separately after the campaign and is based on the weight of your final basket.
