Dragonbane: Accidental Heroes - A Shipwreck Of Fools!

If we reach €12,000, every physical copy of Accidental Heroes II: A Shipwreck of Fools will be upgraded to hardcover at no extra cost.

Something has gone wrong: one day, the people of Icuci woke to a world without heroes. The knights, wizards and adventurers had vanished. Monsters grew bolder, bandits became warlords, and darkness spread everywhere.

Ordinary people had two choices: run or stay.

Those who stayed became the Accidentals. They had never trained to save the world, but they had courage, stubbornness and a habit of getting back up.

Now Icuci needs them. It needs you.

You don't need the first volume to play, but, Dragonbane core rules are required!

Accidental Heroes is a Dragonbane setting that overturns the hero myth: here, you do not begin as legends – you become necessary as ordinary people with guts.

What is Dragonbane?

You can find it here in English! OPPURE qui in italiano! OR IN PDF VERSION here!

Take YOUR last chance to shine!

In this book, we’ll tell you about the Knuckles and three of Icuci’s five fingers. We’re saving the for the grand finale in the next volume.

We’ll take you through seafaring towns, each with its own plots, characters, and distinctive locations, from tiny neighbourhood shops to shady inns run by criminal families. You’ll encounter demons who rule entire cities, and villages dreaming of folk festivals beneath the shade of ancient oaks. There will be journeys into the mountains, battles with goblins, lots of goblins… far too many goblins!

And if you want to explore even further, we’ll show you ruined castles filled with ghosts and forgotten stories, brigands, and corrupt nobles. Across Icuci, you’ll see the scars left by five years without heroes. We’ll tell you about the Fire of Casteldibonzi, when a serial killer trying to escape the law nearly burned half the city to the ground, and the Disaster of Collefero, where twenty Accidentals died beneath the axes of a goblin horde preparing to descend upon the coastal cities.

We’ll also introduce you to criminal families and the power struggles between the coastal cities, along with new headquarters of the Accidentals’ Guild – places to explore, develop, and turn into the starting point for entirely new adventures.

Still not enough to start an adventure?

Looking for new magic schools? The book includes a table for magical storms at sea, as well as tales of a place hidden among the Knuckles that is said to belong to mysterious magical creatures.

In Icuci, a good meal can fix almost anything.
Gastromancers weave magic into food through recipes, carefully chosen ingredients and proper preparation. Their dishes can strengthen, restore, protect and encourage those who eat them. Powerful magic takes time to cook – and, as every grandmother knows, you should never rush dinner.

Why whisper an incantation when you can shout an insult?
Badmouthing channels curses, angry outbursts, and sheer stubbornness into magical power. Its practitioners use their words to push through pain, strengthen themselves, intimidate their enemies, and keep fighting long after any reasonable person would have stopped.

Luck is blind. Bad luck has excellent eyesight.
Scaramancy is the magic of superstitions, lucky charms, ancient gestures, small rituals, and the things your grandmother told you never to do. Its practitioners twist fortune in their favour, protect themselves from disaster, and make sure that when something goes terribly wrong, it happens to somebody else.

And if you’re still not satisfied, you’ll also find four adventures set across the regions we’ve introduced, each ready to throw your Accidentals into even more trouble.

The Geronimo was the finest ship ever built in Torrepizzata. On her maiden voyage, she vanished without a trace. Her crew, passengers, and precious cargo were swallowed by a storm of violet lightning.

This morning, she reappeared on the rocks just outside the harbour, drawing the attention of powerful merchants, curious onlookers, and those eager to claim whatever secrets still lie aboard. Someone has to board the ship: YOU!

Four complete adventures are included in the book. We'll reveal the remaining three adventures during the campaign, stay tuned!

And here we have some of our monsters:

A region of lush green hills, wheat fields, good food and cheerful villages perched on the slopes. A wonderfully bucolic landscape, if you ignore the haunted castles, roadside bandits, monsters eating livestock and creatures trampling the crops.
Despite all that, the halflings keep celebrating, drinking and eating, hoping they won’t be killed before the next harvest. Well, that’s not the case here. You have to go through it if you want to reach almost anywhere else on the map. Just so you know, there are goblins, man-eating monsters, goblins, a handful of villages, goblins, one surprisingly pleasant inn, goblins, a few mysterious towers waiting to be explored, goblins, and finally… goblins. Everyone has their own solution: one has retreated into absolute protectionism, another throws everything it has into a handful of caravans and hopes at least one survives, while the third is so completely screwed that the undead are already knocking at the door. All digital stretch goals will be given to every backer, no matter what they pledged. Physical stretch goals will be given to all backers with physical pledge levels.

If we reach €12,000, every physical copy of Accidental Heroes II: A Shipwreck of Fools will be upgraded to hardcover at no extra cost.

The shipping estimates below are based on real quotes received from fulfillment providers, not on Kickstarter’s automatic estimates.

*The pledge "CHOSEN" will be $5 higher than the other for shipping because of its weight.

We compared the available offers for each destination and used the most competitive option currently available to us. US orders will be fulfilled through a dedicated American hub, while orders for Europe and most other destinations will ship from Italy.

Shipping rates can still change between now and fulfillment. The fulfillment companies we contacted specifically advised us to keep a reasonable safety margin in our estimates, given the current volatility of fuel prices, international shipping rates, and the geopolitical situation.

For this reason, the figures below should be considered conservative estimates rather than final prices. Our goal is to avoid promising unrealistically low shipping rates months in advance while keeping costs as low as possible for every backer.

All shipments will use reliable, trackable services.

Rest of the World estimates are necessarily broader, as they cover many countries with very different shipping rates and conditions.

Final shipping costs will be charged after the campaign, closer to the actual fulfillment date, based on the most up-to-date rates available at that time.
