Dungeons & Flagons

Statut actuel
Pull up a stool, adventurer. The tavern’s open.
Hi, I’m Chris—the “Wyrm” in Wyrm & Whelp. My granddaughter is the “Whelp”—a bright-eyed, endlessly curious 3-year-old who lights up every room she enters.
Wyrm & Whelp started as a little workshop project here in Warren, Pennsylvania. I design, laser-cut, laser-engrave, and assemble wooden dice towers, companion consoles, and other tabletop gaming accessories. While I’m putting pieces together, she helps with quality assurance: joyfully rolling handfuls of dice through every tower, watching them cascade down the tracks, and giving me her enthusiastic “Again, Papa!” feedback. Those moments—creating together, even in our own small ways—are what keep me inspired.
One day I realized I wanted to make something beyond wooden accessories, but still deeply tied to the tabletop gaming world I love. I enjoy a good drink, and I’ve always thought gaming and a cold (or warm) beverage go hand in hand. A friend of mine owns Ironstone Meadery in Erie, PA, and I started picturing this little book being used in a place like that—friends gathered around a table, rolling dice, laughing, maybe raising a glass of mead to toast a nat 20 or mourn a failed save.
That’s how Dungeons & Flagons came to life.
Not a full campaign. Not a huge rulebook. Just 20 legendary, self-contained drinking quests—each one 30 to 60 minutes long, hosted by a Tavern Master (you or a friend with a drink in hand). No long-term commitment. No complicated prep. Just gather some friends, grab some dice (and drinks, or mocktails—completely optional), and dive into hilarious, chaotic tavern tales.
- Negotiate with a shapeshifting doppelganger spy who could be anyone in the tavern—including you.
- Deliver a love letter from a 500-year-old lich to a paladin who's sworn to destroy all undead.
- Stop a wedding before the groom transforms into a werewolf during the vows—it's a full moon tonight.
Every quest is bite-sized, replayable, and built for casual groups—perfect for bar nights, game stores, meadery meetups, bachelor parties, or rainy weekends at home. I’ve playtested them with friends and fellow gamers. The laughs are loud, the drinks are optional, and the stories… they get told for years.
Why now? Why this? Because I love tabletop gaming. Because it should be accessible, joyful, and low-pressure—not intimidating or endless. Because Wyrm & Whelp is about creating things that bring people together—whether it’s a grandfather and his little granddaughter sharing a workbench full of dice towers, or friends sharing a table full of dice and drinks.
We’ve built this book with the same care I put into every accessory: premium spiral binding (lays flat for easy reference), thick uncoated off-white pages (easy on the eyes in dim bar light), a spill-resistant soft-touch laminated cover, and clean layout so the Tavern Master can read aloud without squinting.
And yes—we’re adding custom engraved cherry wood coasters as an add-on. Because nothing says “tavern night” like a frothy mug overflowing with foam… and a hidden d20 for that critical roll.
Stretch Goals: Unlocking More Tavern Magic
We’ve set a modest base goal to get the core 20-quest book into your hands. But if we surpass it, we’ll unlock a series of exciting stretch goals that add even more value—without ever increasing the price for backers.
We’ve planned five stretch goals in total, divided into two tiers: Tier 1 – Standard (enhancements everyone receives) and Tier 2 – Premium (exclusive upgrades for Full Flagon backers).
Right now, only the next goal is visible: $13,000 – The Expansion
- +5 bonus quests
- Book becomes the 25-Quest Edition
Once we hit $13,000, we’ll reveal the next goal in the chain—and keep unlocking surprises progressively as we go. The remaining goals stay hidden until earned, so every milestone feels fresh and exciting.
This is our invitation If you’ve ever laughed until your sides hurt after a bad roll, or turned a simple tavern visit into an all-night story… this book is for you. If you’re new to tabletop games and want something low-pressure and fun… this book is for you. If you just want a reason to gather friends, roll some dice, and maybe raise a glass… this book is for you.
We’re not a big studio. We’re a grandfather who loves designing, cutting, engraving, and assembling gaming accessories, and a little girl who loves testing them with endless enthusiasm.
