Dungeons & Mythos: The Aeneid
The Second Book in the Dungeons & Mythos Series!
The first book in the series, The Odyssey, started out as a passion project that we wanted to share with the rest of the world. However, we couldn't have anticipated its success, and now, we are more than proud to start the campaign for Dungeons & Mythos: The Aeneid!
Follow Aeneas, the Trojan hero on his tragic departure from Troy following the great city's fall. He must follow his destiny to found Lavinium and eventually lead to the creation of Rome. Yet, he and his loyal followers, must brave a treacherous voyage, from Thrace, to Crete, and Carthage, each stop proving more perilous than the last, embracing a destiny that they cannot escape.
What's in this Adventure Book?
Dungeons & Mythos: The Aeneid contains the trials and tribulations of Aeneas transposed into a playable manner for Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition ruleset. The campaign will have more than 50 pages and 35 hours of game time. More specifically, the campaign itself is divided into Six Parts, each telling a portion of Aeneas' story. They also coincide with a level for the party:
- Part I: The Fall of Troy - Level 5
- Part II: The Wandering - Level 6
- Part III: Harpies and Cyclops - Level 7
- Part IV: Carthage - Level 8
- Part V: The Underworld - Level 9
- Part VI: War in Latium - Level 10
Each part will differ in length and scope, but each will include important mechanics imperative to the D&D experience. In contrast to our previous book, where we have devised the Favour of the Gods, the story of Aeneas is not interwoven with gods (not entirely, at least), but rather with destiny. As such, we have created another homebrew mechanic for this campaign -- The Weight of Destiny!
We believed that, while interesting and practical, the Favour of the Gods lacked some personal implications for the players and their characters' backstories. The Weight of Destiny does just that; each and every character will have their beliefs, vows, and burdens questioned by this journey, so that at its conclusion, they will become a different version of themselves or remain true to their initial goals.
A Taste of Our Writing
Why not see for yourself what we can create? As the first part of The Aeneid will mirror the first part of The Odyssey, we are making it accessible to everyone. Read -- or play -- through the final moments of the Trojan War on the side of the Greeks and Odysseus, and prepare to see what the other side had to endure in the Aeneid.

Stretch Goals
100% Human Made
Just like with the Odyssey campaign, we value the works of Virgil, Sarah Ruden, Edith Hamilton, and countless others, whose books we have read and referenced in this campaign, and we believe that it will not only be a disservice to us as writers and players, but to them as well, to use AI in this book.
As a result, from the writing to the illustrations, there is no AI present in any part of this adventure book. We fully believe in the story we are writing here and we do not need AI "help" in achieving it. If we wouldn't have known how to write this book, we wouldn't have created this campaign and embarass ourselves.
