Le tag « Jeu de plateau » est trop générique : il sera retiré. Jusqu'à 3 tags du site. Le tag STL retire la fiche du catalogue (fichier 3D, pas un jeu). Ensuite plus de modification ici : un mauvais tag se signale.

Long ago, the archon Mnareth transformed scattered human tribes into a complex, learned civilization. When her priests and people reached the height of their intellect, she consumed their minds, leaving drooling husks. After her civilization collapsed, the ruins lay dormant for centuries and the Brazenwood grew over them. Now that humans have returned to these lands, so too has Mnareth's hunger...

Echoes of Mnareth is a system neutral micro-setting for table top RPGs.

Characters begin in the town of Rootmark, explore the shifting glades of the Brazenwood, and eventually face the demon Mnareth in the dungeons beneath an ancient temple.

Physical Copies Include

  • A player facing cloth map of the Brazenwood
  • A 24 page game booklet
  • A paper map of the Pilgrim's Demise dungeon
  • A holo-foil sticker of the manticore Thymeria
  • A one page mini-zine of the rules lite Dungeon Reavers RPG system
  • Digital downloads of the maps, game book and mini-zine.

The Setting

Humanity has only recently returned to these lands. The rough and tumble inhabitants of Rootmark scrape a living by cutting down trees and making charcoal, but many go missing in the dark forest. Those who return speak of strange ruins and visions in the woods. The church seeks to save the people of this town by ruling it and killing anything that might be related to demons (like magic users). The local ranger guild wants help finding people who have gone missing, and two daughters want closure on what happened to their mother.

The Brazenwood itself is procedurally generated using a standard deck of playing cards. As characters uncover locations they can easily travel between them but, if they sleep or fall unconscious, they must find their way again.

All roads eventually lead to the Pilgrim's Demise dungeon and the demon who lurks in the Chaosphere below.

Dungeon Reavers

Echoes of Mnareth is easy to convert to any old school RPG system. If you don't have your own system, don't worry. The included one page mini-zine Dungeon Reavers has everything you need get playing right away. With Echoes of Mnareth, all your players will need to bring to the table are some six sided dice and their imagination.

Beyond the Brazenwood

At the $100 pledge level, you'll get Echoes of Mnareth and four of Alex's (Gnarledmonster) other system neutral RPG zines:

  • The Archon Ruins
  • Beyond the Borderlands #1
  • Beyond the Borderlands #2
  • Beyond the Borderlands #3

Inspired by the classic Keep on the Borderlands, Beyond the Borderlands is a three zine hex crawl where players explore the Wicked Valley both above ground and in the shifting maze below.

The Archon Ruins is a desert hexcrawl setting, connected to the Wicked Valley by a broken bridge. The ruins are inhabited by monsters and people made of ceramic pots and numerous groups of adventurers are poised to smash them all and loot the place.

Shipping

Physical rewards from this project will only ship to the United States at this time. I understand this may be disappointing. The potential weight of the package puts it right on the edge of some shipping thresholds. If I make an error with US rates, the difference is measured in cents, but if I make an error with international backers that shoots up to multiple dollars per backer and adds up way too fast!

We are doing a full offset run, so there will be copies available on the Swordfish Islands Shop after the Kickstarter. Thank you for your understanding.

About the Author

Alex Damaceno is a Brazilian illustrator and RPG writer. When he's not buried in his room making monsters and pocket worlds, he's playing video games, kicking bags at the gym, or watching bad movies with his closest friends. He's currently lives in a very boring, small town in Brazil, but he's always looking for adventure in the big dungeons nearby!
