What is EDGEBALL?

EDGEBALL is a tabletop precision skill game built around one simple physical challenge:

Roll a steel ball along an aluminium rail and stop it as close as possible to the edge without letting it fall.

There are no complicated rules, no electronics required to play, and no long setup.

Place the rail.
Take the ball.
Push.
Control the perfect stop.

It is a game of precision, touch, timing, and nerve.

Simple enough to play at home.
Strong enough for bars, events, and repeated challenges.
Precise enough to make every round exciting.

How it started

EDGEBALL started in Luxembourg while I was working with aluminium profiles.

One of my daughters picked up a steel ball from a broken Newton’s cradle and rolled it along one of the rails.

The movement was immediately satisfying.

The ball rolled smoothly.
The sound was clean.
The challenge appeared naturally.

Could you stop the ball as close as possible to the edge without letting it fall?

That simple moment became the beginning of EDGEBALL.

After testing different rail sizes, groove shapes, strip layouts, and steel ball sizes, the first proper EDGEBALL version was born.

Built with solid materials

EDGEBALL is made out wood and aluminium.

You can leave it on a table, bring it out when people come over, or use it in a bar where players can challenge each other round after round.

Game Modes

CLASSIC 50

Reach exactly 50 points.

Each player gets 3 tries per turn.
All valid scores are added to the player’s total.

The closer your ball stops to the edge, the more points you score.

But control matters.

If the ball falls, that shot scores 0.
If you go over 50, your turn is a bust.

CLASSIC 50 is the main EDGEBALL mode: simple, tense, and easy to replay.

BATTLE MODE

BATTLE MODE is the head-to-head tactical version of EDGEBALL.

Each rail has:

White player ball on one side.
Black player ball on the other side.
Yellow core ball in the middle.
Blue balls in the blue zones.
Red balls in the red zones.

Players launch from opposite sides and fight to control the rail.

The blue and red balls are obstacle balls. They protect the rail, block shots, absorb impacts, and can be used tactically to stop or redirect your opponent.

A blue ball is safe only in a blue zone.
A red ball is safe only in a red zone.
If a blue or red ball is knocked out of its correct zone, it is destroyed/removed.

The yellow core is the key ball. To win the rail, you must control the chaos, move the core correctly, and place your player ball in the CENTER at the right moment.

If your player ball stops in a wrong zone, it returns to launch.
If both players reach the center at the same time, the rail is a draw and must be replayed.

The goal is simple:

Attack the rail.
Use the blue and red balls.
Control the yellow core.
Place your ball in the CENTER.
Win the rail.

This Kickstarter helps produce the first proper EDGEBALL sets.

The funding will support the first production run: rails, feet, balls, scoring strips, packaging, hardware, and initial stock.
