Eight Nights Spin & Light: A Dreidel Game
Spin the dreidel. Collect Gelt. Light the Menorah before it fills.
Eight Nights Spin & Light: A Dreidel Game is a luck-driven, fast-paced Hanukkah game that puts a new spin on the classic dreidel game.
If you are old enough to spin a dreidel, you are old enough to play.
Players take turns spinning the dreidel, collecting Gelt, and lighting candles on the Menorah. It is easy to learn, quick to play, and perfect for families, kids, holiday gatherings, classrooms, gifts, and anyone who loves the joy of dreidel night.
This is a standalone game born from the world of Eight Nights, created to give families a faster, simpler way to spin, collect Gelt, and light the Menorah.
Why We’re Launching This Short Campaign
We created Spin & Light as a smaller, faster, standalone way to bring more Hanukkah play to the table.
This is a short Kickstarter campaign with a focused goal: help us confirm demand, support production and fulfillment costs, and determine the final quantity before delivery.
The game is already in production, and we have a test copy in hand. We are moving through the final sample and production steps now, and this campaign helps us bring the right number of copies to backers without overprinting.
Your support helps us:
- Confirm how many copies to produce
- Support freight, shipping, and fulfillment costs
- Bring Spin & Light to more families
- Give backers one more chance to get Eight Nights Standard
- Offer a limited deluxe collection bundle while supplies last

From Eight Nights to Spin & Light
Eight Nights began as our festive Hanukkah trick-taking game, built around bidding, clever card play, Miracle Cards, Gelt, Flame Tokens, and a shared Menorah board.
As we moved through production, we realized something special: the core components also created a second game experience.
With the Menorah board, dreidel, Flame Tokens, and Gelt, we could create a faster, simpler game focused entirely on the joy of spinning the dreidel and lighting the Menorah.
That became Spin & Light.
Unlike Eight Nights, Spin & Light does not use cards. It is a standalone dreidel game that is easier to teach, faster to play, and perfect for families, kids, gifting, and Hanukkah gatherings.
If Eight Nights is the full Hanukkah game night experience, Spin & Light is the quick-play family game you can bring out anytime.
What Is Spin & Light?
Spin & Light is a fast-paced, luck-driven dreidel game where spinning determines how candles are lit.
It takes the familiar joy of a classic dreidel game and adds a shared Menorah board, Flame Tokens, Gelt, and a race to light candles before the Menorah is full.
Players spin, collect, spend, and light their way toward victory. Every turn is quick, simple, and filled with the “one more spin” energy that makes dreidel games so fun.
If you are old enough to spin a dreidel, you are old enough to play.
This game uses the custom dreidel and the deluxe components from Eight Nights, but plays as its own standalone experience. You do not need to know how to play Eight Nights to enjoy Spin & Light.
Cards are not used in Spin & Light. This version is all about the spin.

Use a clean flat-lay image showing the board, dreidel, Gelt coins, Flame Tokens, Ner-Bot Flame Tokens, rulebook, and box if available.
How to Play
1. Set Up the Menorah
Place the Menorah Board in the center of the table. Each player chooses a color, takes their Flame Tokens, and starts with 1 Gelt. The remaining Gelt forms a shared supply.
Show the board in the center with player Flame Tokens and Gelt visible.
2. Spin the Dreidel
Players take turns spinning the dreidel and resolving the result.
3. Buy a Candle
After spinning, you may also spend 3 Gelt to light 1 candle with one of your Flame Tokens.
This gives players another way to race ahead, even when the dreidel does not land in their favor.
4. Light the Menorah
When a candle is lit, place a Flame Token on the Menorah. Candles are placed from right to left, just like in Eight Nights.
Ner-Bot can also light candles, adding pressure as the Menorah fills.
5. Win the Game
The game ends when the Menorah is completely filled.
The player with the most lit candles wins. If there is a tie, the tied player with the most Gelt wins. If there is still a tie, the players share the victory.
Why It Works
Spin & Light keeps the fun of dreidel night at the center of the game, but adds a clear race, a shared board, and a reason to keep spinning.
It is quick, easy to teach, and great for families, kids, holiday gatherings, and anyone who wants a simple Hanukkah game with upgraded components and a little extra excitement.
This is the kind of game you can teach quickly, play between dinner and dessert, bring to a family gathering, or gift to someone who loves Hanukkah traditions.

The Story Behind the Traditions
Hanukkah celebrates a small miracle with a big impact. When the Maccabees reclaimed the Temple, they found only enough oil to light the Menorah for one night, yet it lasted for eight.
Over time, Hanukkah traditions grew into the joyful celebration many families know today. Dreidel games, Gelt, candles, fried foods, family gatherings, and the glow of the Menorah all became part of the season’s rhythm.
Spin & Light is inspired by that playful side of Hanukkah: the joy of spinning the dreidel, collecting Gelt, lighting candles, and gathering around the table.
This game is not designed to teach history. It is designed to celebrate the traditions, laughter, and light that make Hanukkah gatherings memorable.
