Ephemeral Beauty Tarot
A tarot deck born from silence, uncertainty, and the beauty of what doesn’t last
For the past two years, I have been living in a state of uncertainty—where nothing felt stable, and everything seemed to exist in a quiet state of change. That experience didn’t just remain in the present; it resurfaced something much older.
Ephemeral Beauty Tarot began as a way to express emotions I have never been able to fully put into words.
Growing up, I often struggled to express how I felt. Emotions stayed internal, unspoken. In that silence, I found comfort in images—especially those in encyclopedia books. Pictures became a kind of language when words were not available to me. Over time, I began collecting and curating images from magazines, instinctively assembling fragments to process difficult emotions and sadness.
In the past two years, living with prolonged uncertainty brought those feelings back to the surface. During moments of anxiety and emotional overwhelm, I returned to what had once helped me: working with images, arranging them, and creating something from fragments. Pressing flowers, painting, and composing became a way to ground myself—a quiet method to soothe what felt uncontainable.
This deck is the continuation of that process—an attempt to give form to something intangible.
It is my endeavour to create a tarot deck composed of collages made from my watercolor illustrations, curated imagery, and fresh flowers gathered from East Sussex and various places in London.
The project came to fruition during a period of deep isolation, where I faced ongoing panic and emotional difficulty that left me feeling disconnected from myself. Through returning to creative practice—and through support found in movement, nature, guidance, and meaningful connections—I slowly began to rebuild a sense of stability.
Through this process, I came to understand that healing is rarely something we do alone. When emotional needs are not met early in life, we often have to learn, later on, how to care for those parts of ourselves—through community, through chosen relationships, and through the ways we learn to support ourselves.
Ephemeral Beauty Tarot is part of that process for me.
It is both deeply personal and openly shared—an offering that holds space for reflection, for conversation, and for those who may find something of themselves within it.
Ephemeral Beauty Tarot is a 78-card tarot deck created through a tactile and intentional process.
Each card incorporates real flowers sourced in the UK, which are carefully pressed and preserved. These elements hold a fleeting moment—something once alive, now transformed.
Alongside this, I use my own character paintings created with watercolor, allowing figures to emerge softly and ambiguously. These are not fixed identities, but emotional presences—reflections of states of being.
The compositions are completed through careful arrangement and subtle graphic design, bringing structure without losing the organic nature of the work.
No part of this deck uses AI.
Every card is made through physical process, time, and attention.
Current Progress
This project is already well underway.
The entire Major Arcana has been completed, along with a selection of cards from the Sword suit. The remaining Minor Arcana cards are currently in progress and will be completed as part of this campaign.
Here are the preview of the Major arcana:
The ongoing creation process will be shared openly, allowing backers to follow how each card evolves from raw material into its final form. To view how the creative process is unfolding, you can click here.
Production Plan and Timeline
Once the campaign is funded, the project will move forward through a structured and realistic process. As this is my first kickstarter project, I am running a limited 50 deck runs to ensure the quality of the deck reflected on the budget that I am raising. I will personally handle the fulfilment of the deck from the start of the production to shipment. The decks will be printed locally in the UK, I will check the quality of the product prior shipment.
The first stage will be the completion of the remaining Minor Arcana, which is expected to take approximately one to two months. This will be followed by preparing all artwork for print, including high-resolution scanning, color correction, and final layout design for both the cards and the custom box.
Printing will then take place over the following one to two months, working with a professional printer based on quotes for a 78-card deck printed on 350 gsm cardstock with a tuck box. Proofs will be reviewed before full production begins to ensure the quality accurately reflects the original artwork.
Once printed decks are delivered to me, I will carry out a full quality check, ensuring consistency and finish. Each deck will then be carefully packaged by hand.
Shipping will follow immediately after, using Royal Mail within the UK and tracked courier services for international orders.
Backers can expect delivery approximately 6 to 7 months after the campaign ends.
Rewards
This campaign offers a range of rewards designed to be both accessible and manageable to fulfill.
Backers will be able to receive the tarot deck itself in standard and signed editions, with limited options that include additional items such as art prints derived from the deck. Lower-cost digital rewards will also be available for those who simply wish to support the project.
A small number of more personal rewards, such as tarot readings and workshops, will be offered in strictly limited quantities to ensure they can be delivered without impacting the production timeline.
Each reward tier has been designed with careful consideration to ensure it can be fulfilled reliably.
Budget and Funding Goal
The funding goal for this project has been calculated based on real production quotes and practical costs.
This includes:
- Printing a full 78-card tarot deck on 350 gsm cardstock
- Producing a tuck box for the cards' packaging
- Packaging materials and shipping supplies
- Kickstarter platform fees and UK VAT
- A small contingency buffer for unexpected costs
The majority of funding is dedicated directly to creating the deck itself, with the remaining portion covering necessary structural and delivery costs.
This ensures that the project is financially realistic and achievable while maintaining the quality of the final product.
Fulfillment
All decks will be shipped directly to me from the printer and stored safely in my studio. From there, each order will be packaged carefully using protective materials to ensure it arrives in good condition.
Shipping will be handled using Royal Mail for UK orders and tracked courier services for international deliveries. Wherever possible, tracking information will be provided.
Where Your Support Goes
Bringing Ephemeral Beauty Tarot into the physical world is a careful balance between artistry and production.
Every contribution directly supports the transformation of this deeply personal project into a tangible object you can hold, use, and connect with.
The majority of the funding goes toward production—ensuring that each card faithfully captures the delicate textures of pressed flowers, the softness of watercolor, and the fine details of the composition. This includes high-quality printing, premium cardstock, and custom packaging designed to protect and honor the work.
A portion of the total also goes toward essential structural costs—including platform fees and UK VAT. These are necessary parts of running a Kickstarter campaign and producing work at a professional standard.
A Transparent Breakdown
- Creation (60%) → Deck production & printing
- Delivery (16%) → Packaging & shipping materials
- Structure (19%) → VAT
- Platform (5%) → Kickstarter fees
Why This Matters
This campaign is intentionally modest in scale. The goal is not mass production, but thoughtful creation—ensuring that every deck is made with care and integrity.
Your support isn’t being diluted across unnecessary costs. It is focused, directly, on making this deck real.
Be Part of Something Ephemeral
This deck is my way of holding onto something that cannot be fully explained—
a feeling, a memory, a moment of stillness in the middle of uncertainty.
If it resonates with you, then perhaps you already understand it.
