Greetings Mortals and welcome to the Eternal War.
I am a solo board game creator/designer and for the past two years I've worked on this project. I appreciate your support and hope that my imagination, along with the game's themes, visuals and game mechanics can provide enjoyment and bring people to play together.

Features & Game Components
The Game
There are three methods to achieve victory:
- Have any units within your faction reach the opposite end of the board. (Breakthrough)
- Control the majority of the board. (Domination)
- Eliminate all enemy Captains. (Last Immortal Standing)

Miniatures
Designer Notes:
It was important to indicate visually that the Demons are in fact fallen angels, and not monsters or another kind of creature. To achieve this, I specifically had both factions use the same poses, the only aesthetic differences are color and armor appearance.
Captains
Each player will select one or multiple captains (depending on the number of players) to control during the game. Captains assume control of friendly pieces they occupy the same position with. Where your Captain goes, their Legion will follow. Players will have to decide to commit reinforcements to themselves, to critical positions to be held against the enemy or to reinforce other players on their team in need.
Losing a Captain or all Captains a player controls will not result in defeat for that player. Defeated Captains can roll to 'respawn' during the next round. If the entire team loses all of their Captains at once however, and none are able to respawn in time, then the entire team is defeated.

Gameplay
The significance of cards and tactical play
Boardgames can be overwhelming for inexperienced players. In order to streamline the experience and attempt to 'guide' players towards actions they should take, the game utilizes a card-based order system to facilitate in the movement of troops, launching attacks etc. Experienced players will enjoy mixing and matching cards at the right opportunities to overcome obstacles or outwit their opponents.
(Above) A player controlling Paimon on the Demonic team uses both the Celerity card (allowing horizontal and vertical movement) and the Assault Card (used to attack enemies) to launch a sudden attack on their opponent controlling the Angel Michael.
(Above) A player controlling Belphegor attempts to attack their opponent controlling Raphael. The assault fails, with one Demonic legion retreating, and Belphegor knocked out of the battle. The Angelic Player deploys a reinforcement card as Raphael stands his ground and the position remains 'contested'.
(Above) Using both the maneuver and celerity cards grant the special ability to perform a 'fly-over' across an enemy occupied position, effectively bypassing it to reach the other side. If an assault card is added, a player can also assault an enemy occupied position with this method. There will be multiple different abilities by using card combinations in the full game release.
The Battlefield
The Crucible Realm
Left in an incomplete state by 'The Creator'. The Crucible realm rests between the Angelic and Demonic controlled territories.
Its harsh climate make navigation difficult to near impossible. And it is here the forces of Good and Evil will clash in a battle that could decide the outcome of the war.

Updates and Launch Timeline
The narrow path to release.
Once funded, my task will be to work on additional rules balancing and source the right manufacture for the job. All backers will be able to witness this process as I will provide weekly updates. I will also share additional lore on the world of Eternal Combat, it's development and answer backer questions as we work through inevitable delays and any problems to be overcome during this period towards shipment.
Thank you so much for taking the time to explore Eternal Combat, all of your support is appreciated, and I hope you will enjoy the game with friends and family for years to come.
