EVOLVE — OR BE EVOLVED?
A light-strategy hidden-role party game for 4–11 players — easy to learn, highly social, and full of bluffing, laughter, and chaotic table moments.
4–9 Players · About 40 Minutes · Ages 14+
Light Strategy · Social Icebreaker · Casual Party Game · Hidden Roles · Bluffing

WHAT IS EVOLUTACT?
EVOLUTACT is a fast-paced hidden-role card game where every player has a secret identity, a unique ability, and a different reason to survive the experiment.
Humans are trying to complete their research.
Animals are fighting to evolve and escape.
And somewhere at the table, an Assassin is quietly pursuing a target of their own.
To win, you'll need to collect the right potions, read the people around you, bluff your rivals, and decide whether the card being passed to you is a gift...
or a trap.
Collect. Bluff. Betray. Evolve.
WELCOME TO THE LAB
THE YEAR IS 2050. SOMETHING HAS GONE VERY WRONG.
Genetic research has entered a dangerous new era.
Inside a secluded laboratory, experimental animals have developed intelligence—and they are no longer willing to remain test subjects.
The Humans race to protect their research.
The Animals organize their escape and evolution.
And hidden among them is an Assassin with an entirely different objective.
Every potion passed across the table could be a gift, a warning, a bluff, or the final ingredient in somebody else's victory.
In this laboratory, trust is just another experiment.
HOW TO PLAY
DRAW. PLAY. DELIVER.
Every player begins with a secret identity.
Your identity determines your faction, special ability, and victory condition.
Each turn is built around three quick steps.
1. DRAW
Draw two cards from the deck.
Choose one to keep.
The other returns to the game.
Simple choices at the beginning of a turn can become very important later.
2. PLAY
Play a function card, activate an identity ability, interfere with another player, or prepare your next move.
Cards can protect you, reveal information, steal resources, redirect danger, or completely change what is happening around the table.
3. DELIVER
Choose a potion card and pass it face-down to another player.
Now the real game begins.
Do they trust you?
Do they resist it?
Can they redirect it?
Will somebody else interfere?
Or did you just give them exactly what they needed to win?
BUILD YOUR POTION STASH
Players secretly collect potions in three different colors.
Your potion stash remains hidden from the rest of the table.
Collect the correct combination and you may complete your faction's objective.
But be careful.
The wrong combination can be just as dangerous as the right one is valuable.
Because nobody can see exactly what you have collected, remembering previous deliveries, watching other players' reactions, and understanding their intentions becomes just as important as the cards in your hand.
CHOOSE YOUR SIDE
THREE FACTIONS. THREE WAYS TO WIN.
HUMANS
COMPLETE THE RESEARCH.
The Human faction is racing to finish its work before the laboratory falls into chaos.
Collect the potion combination required by your faction and complete the experiment before the Animals achieve their goal.
But even another Human may not always act exactly as you expect.
ANIMALS
COMPLETE YOUR EVOLUTION.
The experimental animals have become intelligent.
Now they want more.
Gather the potions required for evolution and escape the fate of remaining laboratory subjects forever.
Work with the other Animals when you can—but survival has a way of making alliances complicated.
THE ASSASSIN
FIND YOUR TARGET.
You don't care whether the Humans finish their research.
You don't care whether the Animals evolve.
You have one target.
Eliminate them before either major faction completes its objective.
TRUST NO ONE.
A useful ally this turn may become your biggest problem on the next.
EVOLUTACT is built around constant interaction.
STEAL · BLOCK · REDIRECT · REVEAL · SWAP · BETRAY
Function cards and identity abilities allow players to disrupt plans and manipulate the table at critical moments.
A potion may change hands several times before it finally reaches somebody's stash.
A hidden identity may suddenly be exposed.
A perfectly safe plan may collapse because of one card.
And the player smiling across the table may have been waiting three turns for exactly this moment.
EVERY TABLE TELLS A DIFFERENT STORY
EVOLUTACT is designed around the players—not just the cards.
One game may become a tense battle of deduction.
Another may turn into complete chaos.
Players accuse each other.
Temporary alliances form.
Promises are made.
Promises are immediately broken.
Somebody inevitably says:
“Trust me.”
And somehow, that is usually when everyone becomes even more suspicious.
WHAT'S IN THE BOX?
Everything needed to turn your table into a very questionable genetic laboratory.
The EVOLUTACT core game contains:
136 Cards
Including identities, identity skills, potions, traps, function cards, and additional unlocked content.
9 Card Stands
1 Rule Sheet
For 4–9 Players
WANT MORE CHAOS?
EVOLUTACT EXPANSION
For groups that want even more unpredictability, the optional expansion introduces new identities, new effects, and entirely new ways to interfere with other players.
The expansion includes:
+28 Expansion Cards
+6 Gray Cards
Gray cards occupy valuable space in your potion stash, creating new pressure and forcing players to rethink how they manage their collections.
New identities include:
Grumpy Hoof
Lucky Goose
Potion Master
New effects such as Soul Swap, King's Naming, Mimic, and other disruptive cards can exchange roles, expose information, interfere with attacks, and completely rewrite the table at the worst possible moment.
Or the best possible moment.
Depending on who you are.
FROM DIGITAL GAMES TO THE TABLE
EVOLUTACT began as something completely new for us.
Our game development journey grew from studying interactive entertainment and game design at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, where I am currently studying for a Master's degree in Innovative Multimedia Entertainment.
Before EVOLUTACT, I had already worked on and developed a number of VR and PC game projects, exploring different forms of interaction, player experience, and digital game design.
But EVOLUTACT was the first tabletop game my classmates and I designed together.
We wanted to see what would happen if we took what we had learned from digital games—player psychology, pacing, systems, uncertainty, interaction, and emergent experiences—and removed the screen entirely.
Instead of a controller, you have cards.
Instead of an AI opponent, you have the person sitting across from you.
And instead of scripted dialogue, you have bluffing, negotiation, suspicion, laughter, and betrayal.
That experiment became EVOLUTACT.
THEN PLAYERS ASKED FOR ONE MORE GAME.
When we first brought EVOLUTACT to players in mainland China, we didn't know exactly how people would react.
Then we started watching groups stay around the table for hours.
They laughed.
They argued.
They accused each other.
They formed alliances.
They betrayed those alliances.
And when the game ended, many of them wanted to play again.
Players told us that EVOLUTACT felt addictive, chaotic, social, and surprisingly difficult to stop playing once the table became invested in the experiment.
For us, seeing people genuinely enjoy something we had designed was incredibly meaningful.
It was the moment when EVOLUTACT stopped feeling like just another project.
It became something we wanted to take much further.
And confidence that the game could work beyond our own playtesting groups.
Feedback from those players helped us refine card interactions, physical components, presentation, pacing, and the overall experience around the table.
Born from game design. Proven around real tables. Now ready for players around the world.
READY FOR THE NEXT STAGE
EVOLUTACT is not starting from a rough idea.
The core gameplay has already gone through extensive design, physical prototyping, and playtesting.
We have tested the hidden-role system, potion mechanics, player interactions, identities, card effects, and overall game flow with real groups—and continued refining the experience based on what we observed around the table.

DEVELOPING FOR KICKSTARTER
→ International English Edition
→ English Rulebook Refinement
→ Final Card & Component Polish
→ Additional Playtesting
→ New Mini Expansion Content
→ Final Manufacturing Files
The heart of EVOLUTACT is already here.
Kickstarter is where we take it from a tested tabletop experience to a polished international edition.
WHY KICKSTARTER?
EVOLUTACT has already found its first community in China.
Now we want to take the next step.
Kickstarter gives us the opportunity to create a polished international edition, improve production quality, introduce additional content, and bring EVOLUTACT to players far beyond our original market.
Campaign funding will primarily support:
MANUFACTURING
Production of the cards, box, card stands, rulebook, and physical components.
INTERNATIONAL EDITION
English-language refinement, proofreading, localization preparation, and international production files.
PRODUCTION IMPROVEMENTS
Final material testing, printing adjustments, packaging improvements, and quality control.
NEW CONTENT
Development and playtesting of several small optional expansion modules during the Kickstarter campaign.
INTERNATIONAL FULFILLMENT
Preparing rewards for delivery from China to players around the world.
For us, this Kickstarter is not simply about printing another batch of cards.
It is our next step toward turning the games we love creating into something we can continue building as an independent team.
FROM OUR LAB TO YOUR TABLE
The biggest uncertainty in many crowdfunding projects is whether the product can actually be made.
Fortunately, EVOLUTACT has already gone through physical prototyping.
After the Kickstarter campaign, we will finalize the international production files and move into manufacturing.
Our current estimated mass-production period is approximately 1–2 months after final files and production samples are approved.
The process will follow these major steps:

EVOLUTACT reaches your table
International delivery times will vary depending on destination, customs, and shipping method.
SHIPPING
FROM CHINA TO THE WORLD
EVOLUTACT will be manufactured and fulfilled from China.
Shipping will be collected after the campaign through Kickstarter's Pledge Manager, based on the backer's destination and reward selection.
Applicable taxes may also be collected through the Pledge Manager depending on the backer's location.
Because international shipping costs can change between crowdfunding and fulfillment, collecting shipping post-campaign allows us to use more accurate rates instead of building uncertain shipping costs into the reward price.
Detailed supported destinations and shipping estimates will be provided as fulfillment approaches.

WHY THIS GAME MATTERS TO US
We have spent years learning how games create experiences.
But EVOLUTACT taught us something different.
Sometimes the most memorable part of a game isn't a complicated system or impressive technology.
Sometimes it is simply the moment when one player passes a face-down card to another...
and suddenly everyone at the table starts shouting.
Seeing players in China laugh, argue, bluff, and continue playing for hours made us incredibly happy.
Those moments gave us the confidence to take our first real step into game entrepreneurship.
Now we want to see EVOLUTACT reach new tables, new groups of friends, and new communities around the world.
If this campaign succeeds, you won't simply be helping us manufacture a card game.
You'll be helping a small independent team take its first international step.
Thank you for entering the lab with us.
