About Dustiny Games - Team
We are three friends brought together by a shared obsession with fantasy worlds, strategy games, and tabletop experiences.
Like many players, we grew up with Magic: The Gathering, Dungeons & Dragons, dungeon crawlers, dark fantasy stories, and long nights spent around a table discussing mechanics, lore, and impossible strategies.
A few years ago, after playing Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon together, we started asking ourselves a simple question:
“Is it possible that there isn’t a game capable of combining atmosphere, strategy, tension, and replayability… without becoming exhausting to set up and manage?”
At first, it was just a joke between friends.
Then came prototypes.
Playtests.
Arguments over mechanics.
Cards redesigned dozens of times.
Late-night discussions about worldbuilding, balance, bluffing systems, and how to make every decision matter.
Eventually, that joke became Fall Dawn.
This is our first project, and because of that, we approached every decision with extreme care.
We are not a large studio with unlimited resources, so some of our choices may seem unconventional, but every one of them was made consciously, prioritizing what we believed truly mattered for the final experience: gameplay, atmosphere, component quality, and long-term reliability.
To ensure the project would meet the standards we envisioned, we entrusted production and logistics to some of the most respected companies in the industry:
LongPack Games — internationally recognized for premium manufacturing quality and known for producing acclaimed titles such as Anachrony.
GamesQuest — one of the most trusted fulfillment and logistics partners in tabletop crowdfunding.
The Team
Matteo Ratti
Professional musician, singer, writer, and vocal coach.
Much of the core worldbuilding, lore, and many of the game’s mechanics originated from the creative collaboration between Matteo and Fabio.
Matteo also composed, performed, and sang the official soundtrack of Fall Dawn, The Ballad for Those Who Remain, and wrote the novel set in the world of Narwar.
You can find him online through VEM Coaching.
Fabio Bertolla
Fabio works in the metalworking industry and manages much of the project's internal organization and operational logistics.
Together with Matteo, he played a central role in shaping the mechanics, balance, lore, and worldbuilding of Fall Dawn.
Among us, he is probably the one with the deepest obsession for board games, fantasy literature, and long-form strategic systems.
Daniele Luciani
Graphic designer, illustrator, comic artist, web designer, and digital strategist.
Daniele handled the visual architecture of Fall Dawn: card layouts, graphic design, branding, website, and the overall visual cohesion of the project. Some may also know him through his illustration and comic work under the name “Dan Lucifer,” including Rascals.
At the end of the day, Fall Dawn exists because three friends spent years building the kind of game they genuinely wanted to play themselves.
Artwork & A.I. Transparency
Our illustrations use AI as a base, then are manually refined, edited, and curated to fit a cohesive artistic vision. Graphic design, layout, and final assets are fully human-directed. Transparency matters to us.
Why AI?
We are a passionate indie team of 3. AI allowed us to create over 200 illustrations, making concrete a project that, due to costs and time, would have been otherwise impossible.
The Process
AI generates the illustrations. Daniele (Lead Graphic Designer) manually works on each image with overpainting and retouching to ensure stylistic consistency.
All graphic architecture (UI, frames, layouts, card backs) is hand-drawn from scratch.
Note:
Game mechanics, lore, novel, and soundtrack (Warner Music Italy) are 100% human-created works.
