Familiars & Companions for D&D 5e - Monstrosities

Familiars & Companions for D&D 5e - Monstrosities is a collection of monstrosity familiars designed to expand your game with strange allies, dangerous creatures, and unexpected bonds. Some dwell in remote forests, mountain caves, or the depths beneath the earth. Others lurk in forgotten ruins or bear the marks of ancient magic and reckless experimentation. Whether a companion’s trust is earned through patience, a shared danger, or a well-chosen offering, each creature brings abilities that can shape both survival and storytelling at your table. Every creature is presented in a format reminiscent of a classic monster manual, featuring rich lore, digital illustrations, and detailed stat blocks.

You’ll also find guidance on how each companion might be created, found or summoned, presented in ways that feel especially thematic for these kinds of creatures, offering immersive ways to introduce them into your campaign. Optional rules and tweaks for the Find Familiar spell are also included, making it simple to bring them into even the most traditional settings.

What You Get

The book begins with 40 familiars & companions, each presented on a one-page spread. And this is just the beginning—additional creatures will be added as stretch goals, expanding the compendium even further.

All creatures range from CR 1/4 to CR 4 (with guidance on how to slightly adjust their strength, if desired, provided in the GM Notes). Each creature is designed to be diverse and unique, ensuring the book remains both engaging and useful. Every entry includes:

• Origins & Lore: A rich backstory to inspire your roleplaying and immerse your players in the creature's history.
• Summoning & Bonding: A guide to how the familiar can be created, summoned or found, and how it forms its bond with the player.
• Personality & Behavior: Insight into the familiar's personality and habits.
• Digital Illustration: Each familiar includes a full-color digital image to help bring it to life at your table. A folder containing all the artwork from the book is also included for easy access, whether you want to share the images with players or import them into your favorite VTT platform.
• Detailed Stat Block: Clear stats and abilities designed to easily integrate the familiar into your game, making them ready for action at a moment's notice.

Whether you seek creatures shaped by ancient magic, unusual beasts that haunt forgotten places, or small monsters that can be surprisingly adorable one moment and a menace the next, this compendium brings them to your table!

About Us

Behind Adventurica are two passionate brothers—Nick and John—united by a deep love for tabletop RPGs and a shared commitment to crafting exceptional content for the community.

Our creative journey began with a simple realization: high-quality, affordable maps were surprisingly hard to come by. As lifelong players and Game Masters, we understood firsthand how immersive visuals can transform a good session into a great one. That’s what inspired us to start designing our own.

John, the younger of the two, brings a natural talent and creative flair for battlemaps. His designs are often the heart of our projects, vibrant, functional, and imaginative. Though he’s still a bit of a newcomer as a Game Master, he brings a fresh perspective and a constant stream of bold ideas.

Nick, the older brother, may not be quite as gifted with the drawing tools, but he has a sharp eye for quality, layout, and game flow. With years of GM experience under his belt, he ensures that every map, item, and supplement we create is practical, balanced, and fun to use at the table.

What began with just maps has since grown into a broader collection of adventures, supplements, and game tools. And we’re just getting started. Our mission is to keep growing, learning, and delivering the best possible experience to every fellow adventurer who chooses to join us on this journey.
