—description fournie par l’éditeur

Présentation de la campagne

WHAT IS FARK?

FARK™ is a folkloric hidden-role card game where silver and fire can solve most of your problems, and trusting your friends usually gets you killed. Discover your role, arm yourself with weapons and relics, and survive the hunt... if the village doesn't decide you're the monster first.

Watch Tantrum House Play FARK!

Tantrum House played a full game of FARK, and now you can see it in action! Watch as hidden roles, accusations, weapons, executions, and terrible decisions all come together at the table.

If you've been curious about how FARK actually plays, check out their full 5-player playthrough below!

Every player is dealt a secret role card, whether it is a Villager, a Werewolf, a Vampire, a Doctor, a Burgomaster, or an Extirpator, where Villagers make up most of the players with several Werewolves hidden among them. Each role has its own abilities, blood count, and path to secure victory.

Each turn, a player will draw cards and can decide to play their weapons and items or take actions to attack, defend, investigate, bluff, accuse, or ally with other players. If a player's blood count is depleted, that player will be eliminated from the game and must reveal their role card. During the game, several cards may require an execution vote to occur, forcing the group to decide which player is eliminated that round. A wrong choice can be just as deadly as the monsters themselves.

The game concludes when a faction has achieved its win condition. The Villagers, Burgomaster, Doctor, and Extirpator achieve their survival by defeating every Werewolf and the Vampire. The Werewolves win once every non-monster player has been eliminated. The Vampire wins only if no one else survives.

OPTIONAL RULE: SCENARIOS

A scenario can add flavor and focus, drawing players deeper into fear and suspicion. Make up names, give the village a little history, or make it weird. Scenarios can be played seriously, for laughs, or however your group wants to run with it. The Extirpator or the group may set the scenario, or simply let the game unfold on its own.

SAMPLE SCENARIO IDEA

In the eastern marshes of Haragrad, in the late 800s, the simple folk have started disappearing on nights of the full moon. Some blame wild beasts. Others swear they've seen something walking on two legs. An Extirpator has been summoned, but finding the beast may prove easier than determining whom to trust. Accusations will decide who lives, who dies, and who feeds.

The village could always use a few more bodies. Play FARK online with your friends for free through Tabletopia, or back the campaign and share it with someone you'd happily accuse of being a Werewolf. What happens to them after that is between you and the village.

SURVIVE THE NIGHT

When the moon rises, beasts wear familiar faces. Voices fall to whispers and accusations. Claws and fangs search for a feast. Unmask the hidden CURSED, or see the village damned. Plan carefully. Accuse boldly. Silence is certain death.

Bluff when you can. Betray when you must. But always survive. Remember, in these cursed nights, trust dies first.

ABOUT HARAGAMES

Hello, Haratics!

Haragames grew out of a love for board games, card games, and all things sick and twisted. FARK started during an annual Halloween game night, when a familiar question came up: What if there was more to do than figure out who the monsters are?

What if players could arm themselves, fight back, protect each other, cut deals, and generally make terrible decisions at one another's expense? Wanting the hidden roles and suspicion of a social deduction game mixed with the cards, weapons, and constant interaction of a take-that card game. Something that could tell a story around the table while giving you considerably more ways to stab your friends in the back.

You know. The little things in life.

FARK is the first independent release from Haragames, but hopefully not the last. There are plenty more ideas floating around in our collective deranged mind. For now, we're just excited to open the village gates and see where this first hunt takes us.

THE SURVIVORS (THANKS)

FARK wouldn't be what it is without people willing to sit around a table, lie to their friends, throw around accusations, break the game, and still agree to play again.

So, a huge thank you to everyone who playtested, gave feedback, helped out along the way, or just put up with rants about werewolves and blood. The game is better for it.

Couldn't have done this without you.

Still don't trust any of you, though.
