—description du concepteur

Présentation de la campagne

The race is over. Now the FIXRs move in.

The track is wrecked, parts are everywhere, and everybody wants the same thing. That's when the FIXR bots shine.

Play it safe. Push your luck. Steal from your friends.

On your turn, choose one:

SALVAGE — take a visible Part before somebody else does.
DIG — draw blind and hope you find something better.
BUILD — turn the Parts in your hand into points.

And when the opportunity presents itself? Sabotage rival crews, swipe what you need, and make sure your best-laid plan becomes someone else’s problem.

FIXR is a fast, competitive card game built around simple choices with real consequences. Every turn asks whether you should take the sure thing, gamble for something better, or make life difficult for another player.

You lead a crew of diminutive FIXR bots, scavenging wrecked race machines and turning whatever you can find into valuable Builds before someone else beats you to it.

1–5 players • 10–15 minutes • Ages 10+

Easy to learn. Fast to play. Built for rematches, and grudge matches.

Physical prototypes are in hand, review copies are going out now, and FIXR launches on Kickstarter October 6.

Scavenge. Outsmart. Outscore.

Why I Made FIXR

FIXR began inside a much larger world I’ve been building called Sand Slicers, a tabletop racing game planned for Kickstarter in 2027.

Sand Slicers is about high-speed racing across the Scorchbelt of K’ta’jah. The world is populated by battered race machines, desperate crews, questionable repairs, and tiny FIXR bots whose job is keeping their crew’s racer alive.

While developing that game, I kept coming back to the FIXRs.

I loved the win-at-all-costs attitude they developed in the larger game. Their only concern is giving their crew an advantage ... even if that means bending the rules a little.

Then the idea for FIXR clicked:

What do these little repair bots do when the crowds are gone and the track is covered in wreckage?

That question became its own game.

FIXR is deliberately very different from Sand Slicers. It’s smaller, faster, easier to teach, and built to hit the table again and again.

It also became the first chance to invite players into the Scorchbelt.

The Art of FIXR

The artwork for FIXR was created by me.

The vehicle Parts and machinery began with CAD designs developed for the larger Sand Slicers world, then were reworked into the distressed, comic-book-inspired visual style used throughout FIXR.

The cards, box, icons, FIXR bots, and overall look of the game all come from the same visual language as the larger Scorchbelt universe.

I wanted FIXR to feel worn, mechanical, colorful, and a little unruly. I wanted it to feel like everything in the game had been dragged out of a wrecked racer and put back to work.

Built to Be Played

I also wanted FIXR to be the kind of game you can teach quickly, finish in 10–15 minutes, and immediately hear: “Rematch.”

The rules are simple. The decisions aren’t.

Do you take the Part you can see? Risk the Dig Pile for something better? Hold out because a stronger Build might be possible? Or cash in now before somebody ruins your plan?

And somebody probably will.

You’ll constantly be weighing what’s available against what might be waiting in the deck while watching what everyone else is collecting and wondering whether they’re about to take exactly what you need.

That’s the experience I wanted FIXR to deliver:

Play it safe. Push your luck. Steal from your friends.

What’s Already Done?

This isn’t a campaign to figure out whether FIXR works.

The game is finished.

The deck is complete. The rules are complete. The artwork, box, Player Guides, Tip Sheet, and 16-page rulebook are complete.

Physical prototypes are now in hand, and review copies are being sent to content creators and tabletop media ahead of launch.

The Kickstarter exists for one reason: to fund the first production run.

What Your Pledge Funds

FIXR has a deliberately modest funding goal.

Your pledge primarily helps cover:

  • Manufacturing
  • Freight to the United States
  • Fulfillment materials
  • Kickstarter and payment-processing fees
  • Production of pledged playmats

Shipping to individual backers will be collected separately after the campaign through Kickstarter’s Pledge Manager.

The goal is simple: Make FIXR exactly as designed and get it onto your table.

What’s in the Box?

Each copy of FIXR includes:

  • 51 Part cards
  • 12 Event cards
  • 6 Tactic cards
  • 2 double-sided Player Guide cards
  • 1 double-sided Tip Sheet
  • 16-page rulebook

That’s 72 cards plus the rulebook, packed into a compact poker-card-sized tuck box.

1–5 players • 10–15 minutes • Ages 10+

A dedicated Solo Mode is included.

The FIXR Playmat

FIXR doesn’t need a playmat.

But it looks pretty damn good on one.

The optional custom playmat gives the Salvage Field, Dig Pile, and Scrap Pile dedicated spaces while bringing more of the Scorchbelt to the table.

It’s available with the FIXR + Playmat reward.

Who Am I?

I’m Pete Dannenfelser, also known as Pete Fletzer, designer of FIXR and creator of the Sand Slicers universe.

I’m also the author of Who Owns the Myth?, published in 2025, and I’ve spent a lot of years making things — through writing, podcasting, digital and creative work, design, 3D printing, and now tabletop games.

FIXR is the first game I’m bringing to Kickstarter.

Welcome to the Scorchbelt
