This is the first entry in Forgotten Lore: Fragments, a new series of smaller, cheaper Celtic D&D PDFs, each built around a single subject and made for immediate use at the table.
Forget about the bloated sourcebooks and the stripped down samples. This is something narrower, cleaner, and more deliberate: a compact PDF with a single purpose, written to give you material you can pick up and use straight away.
If you're a fan of our previous projects, like The Celtic Grimoire, then you're in the right place.
RITUALS opens the series with twenty dark Celtic rites for D&D 5e, presented in a format that is simple to read, easy to lift from, and strong in tone. It is a smaller release by design, but it is still built with the same care, atmosphere, and usability as our larger popular books.
If you want Celtic material that feels older, stranger, and more grounded in act and belief than in spectacle, look no further.
This is where the Fragment line begins.
Within these pages are 20 dark Celtic rituals for D&D 5e: rites tied to oath-making, burial, war, sacrifice, protection, divination, weather, and the ancient bond between people and land.
Each ritual gives you something tangible: an act to perform, a purpose behind it, and an outcome that matters in play. Some may guard a home. Some may steady warriors before bloodshed. Some may seek signs from the land. Some may ward the dead, call rain, bind a promise, or place a mark on those who take part. In each case, the ritual is meant to feel usable rather than ornamental.
The tone throughout is dark, mythic, and practical.
Each ritual is built to feel rooted in an older Celtic world of standing stones, graves, boundaries, offerings, storms, and spoken promises.
The aim was not simply to make “magic” with Celtic flavour, but to create rites that feel like acts people might have once feared, trusted, or passed down in whispers.
This is a book of gestures, signs, bindings, offerings, and consequences.
A book of old acts with weight behind them.
RITUALS is the opening release in Forgotten Lore: Fragments, a new line of compact Celtic PDFs designed to be smaller in scale, lower in price, and easier to collect, while still offering material with real substance.
Each Fragment will focus on one theme only. No filler. No broad, scattered coverage. Just one sharply defined subject, explored in a way that gives GMs and players something immediate and usable. One book may turn toward rituals. Another toward weapons. Another toward curses, relics, omens, or stranger corners still.
That is the idea behind the line: short books with a strong identity. Quick to read. Easy to bring to the table. Built to stand alone, but stronger together as the series grows.
So if you want to start at the beginning, this is the place to do it. RITUALS is Fragment One. The first of a wider body of dark Celtic material still to come.
If RITUALS draws you in and you want something larger, The Celtic Grimoire is the next step.
Where this Fragment is narrow and focused, The Celtic Grimoire is a much broader work, a larger collection of dark Celtic magic for D&D 5e, built for those who want to go deeper into the atmosphere, language, and imaginative space behind this kind of material.
The two books do different things. RITUALS gives you a tight set of old acts: rites of oath, warning, burial, protection, sacrifice, and sign. The Celtic Grimoire opens that world out into a fuller body of magic, giving you a wider range of material to shape entire characters, campaigns, and settings around.
So this can be your beginning, but it does not have to be your end. Start with the first Fragment, then step further into the darker and wider world of The Celtic Grimoire.
