What Is FORGOTTEN ODYSSEYS?

FORGOTTEN ODYSSEYS is a complete, standalone tabletop roleplaying game under the Mörk Borg third party license. It’s packed with lore and narrative hooks you can use to give any game a touch of inspiration from Greek myth.

As with Mörk Borg, the game primarily uses a d20. Players roll 3d6 for each ability to get a modifier. You roll the d20 and add your ability modifier to try to beat a Difficulty Rating (DR). For the most part, rolls are done in the open, with players rolling to both attack and defend against enemies - while the GM gets to focus on creating new ways to challenge the players and keep their Seekers from getting home.

The Trojan War lasted a grueling decade. After all the struggles and bloodshed, thousands of Greek soldiers set out to return to their homes - many a mere shell of what they once were. While the journey undertaken by Odysseus and his crew is widely known, there were many other harrowing journeys no less arduous - and occasionally triumphant - that were lost to the mutterings of the oral history. The game puts players into the sandals of these Seekers as they sail homeward to forge their fate...but Eris, the goddess of strife and chaos, will stop at nothing to stop them.

The FORGOTTEN ODYSSYES book is endowed by the gods with a mythic trove of content to support the ill-fated journey home, including 6 Seeker classes, Bronze Age weapons and armor, an introductory adventure for the Seekers' final acts in the Trojan War, powerful boons and curses, 20 legendary items from Aegis to the Winged Sandals of Hermes, seafaring rules with a method of tracking the journey home to capture the spiral into desperation, ancient Greek ships, numerous tables to randomize mishaps, events, encounters, and islands, and guidance for how to set the stage for the Seekers' arrival if they actually make it home.

We have partnered with Hod Publishing and Hedron to develop the VTT Modules available in this campaign.

Hod Publishing will develop the module for Foundry. Hedron will provide first-party support for us.

Timeline & Shipping

The book is 90% complete, and a beta PDF will be distributed to backers soon after the campaign ends. This will mark the start of several months of an “open beta” playtest, allowing backers to play the game and submit feedback before the book goes to print. Here’s a rough estimate of the fulfillment timeline:

• August 2026 - Beta PDF Sent; Playtesting Begins
• December 2026 - Playtesting Ends
• January 2027 - Final Revisions; Final PDF Sent
• February 2027 - Printing Begins; Pledge Manager Opens
• May 2027 - All Rewards Arrived in USA; Pledge Manager Closes
• June 2027 - Fulfillment Begins

I have partnered with Broken Door Entertainment, who will act as the publisher for FORGOTTEN ODYSSEYS. They have experience managing and fulfilling crowdfunding campaigns like this, and I worked closely with the owner, Josh, in a past life. They will navigate the printing and shipping process, to ensure we stay on schedule.

Shipping will not be collected as part of this Kickstarter. You will be able to purchase additional add-ons and we will charge for shipping in the pledge manager. These shipping estimates are based on today’s rates. Shipping prices are subject to change.

• Canada & Mexico: $15-30, depending on tier
• Europe & UK: $20-45, depending on tier and country
• Rest of World: $30+

We will primarily be fulfilling out of the Broken Door facilities in Chicago, IL, but if there are enough orders from other parts of the world, we may be able to work with a regional fulfillment center to reduce the cost of shipping for backers in that region.

Backers will be responsible for handling any local import taxes, customs, VAT, etc.

Is MÖRK BORG Required to Play?

FORGOTTEN ODYSSEYS is a full, standalone game that has everything you need to play. But if you haven't played MÖRK BORG, you absolutely should the very first chance you get. Its groundbreaking arrival created an inflection point in the history of tabletop roleplaying games that must be experienced. So many of my fondest gaming memories in the last several years I owe to the doom metal album of a game from Pelle Nilsson and Johan Nohr.
