Fourfold Legacy: A Tarot of Chaos & Broken Order

🔮 Why This Tarot Exists
Before elements, before gods, before time had rules,
the world was shaped by four primal instincts:
Light. Growth. Darkness. End.
They were never meant to coexist—yet they did.
And when all instincts acted at once, reality collapsed.
This tarot deck is not a tool of prophecy.
It is a record of collapse, a warning, and a calibration device left behind by a broken world.
🌍 The World of Fourfold Legacy
At the dawn of existence, four races emerged—not as rulers, but as survivors of chaos:
The Lucid (Light) — builders of order and civilization
The Verdant (Growth) — nurturers of life and abundance
The Nightkept (Darkness) — absorbers of excess and decay
The Fangwild (End) — devourers who complete the cycle
Unchecked, their instincts triggered a phenomenon later called “Stack Overflow”—
where birth and death, light and void, growth and ruin happened simultaneously.
Cities fell into darkness at noon.
Forests devoured themselves overnight.
End arrived before beginnings were complete.
📜 The Mad King’s Codex — Birth of the Tarot
To document this impossible age, shamans of the four races engraved
78 fragments of fractured history into cards.
Minor Arcana (A–10)
Each suit records a complete cycle—from awakening to self-destruction.
Court Cards
Pages, Knights, Queens, and Kings are key figures whose choices accelerated collapse.
Major Arcana (22 cards)
“Impossible moments” when all four instincts briefly coexisted in fragile balance—
miracles mistaken for destiny.
The record was named The Mad King’s Codex.
Every scribe who completed it lost their sanity.
⚖️ The Protocol — Order Discovered, Not Created
When leaders studied the cards, they discovered a pattern:
Light gives rise to Growth → Growth invites Darkness → Darkness summons End → End returns to Light
Order was not invented.
It was decoded.
Thus, the Fourfold Protocol was signed:
Each race must yield dominance in turn.
Any violation would be punished by the other three.
The tarot itself became the physical embodiment of this law—
every card a warning:
If you refuse to yield, the next card is your extinction.
🃏 The Suits & Their Instincts
Pentacles — The Lucid (Light)
Civilization, naming, construction, enforced meaning.
Cups — The Verdant (Growth)
Life, fertility, abundance, and consumption.
Swords — The Nightkept (Darkness)
Severance, silence, erasure, negative space.
Wands — The Fangwild (End)
Fire, hunger, collapse, and renewal through destruction.
Each suit is not moral.
Each is necessary—and dangerous.
⚠️ Protocol Overload: The Current Age
After centuries of perfect compliance, the Protocol failed again.
Light yielded too precisely, creating power vacuums
Growth accelerated unnaturally, birthing twisted life
Darkness arrived on schedule—and became solid night
End devoured even the concept of endings
The protocol itself became the new chaos.
Prophets now believe a 79th possibility exists—
one never recorded in the Codex.
This deck invites you to search for it.
