Frog Buffet

In 'Frog Buffet', you - the players - are hungry frogs who haven't seen any bugs around for a while. It's almost like they have gone away on vacation... And those suspicions turn out to be true when you stumble upon an insect-hotel. It's crawling with bugs, but because they're on holiday, they have brought a lot of luggage with them as well. Whilst bugs are a delicious treat to a frog, bags and suitcases are not. Eat too many of those and you might just explode!

How do I play?

You can play Frog Buffet with up to 8 friends, but playing with more isn't illegal either. All you need is a surface on which you can place the playing tiles, and you're ready to go.

Frog Buffet can be a very quick game, which encourages you to play another round. And another round... Play it tactically, try to get lucky, or even put on your best poker face to make sure your frog appetite gets satiated before that of your opponents.

You and your opponents will take consecutive turns, either blindly trying to catch bugs or scouting ahead to be at an advantage your next turn.

You’ll be able to catch big juicy bugs that satiate your hunger, but they might also carry luggage with them. The goal of the game will be trying to get an as high as possible ‘bug score’ and keep the ‘luggage score’ as low as possible.

You’ll also encounter special tiles that let you switch up the flow of the game. For example, by stealing bugs from your opponents or sending additional luggage their way. This way, every time you play the game, things will play out differently.

Hi there, my name is Reinder and I am the creator of 'Frog Buffet'. This will be the first game that I put out into the world with my company: Castlecrab Studio. With this indie boardgame studio I wish to contribute to the boardgame community, by making many more fun and exciting games a reality. Together we'll make sure that gamenights keep getting more and more fun.
