I’ve been thinking about launching a Patronite page for a few years, but unfortunately, my health prevents me from working on my projects consistently. Sometimes I have a few days to myself, and sometimes I don’t. That was the issue with my previous campaigns, too—delays and the inability to juggle hospital visits, paid work, and sculpting my own miniatures. That’s why I’ve decided to run a series of smaller fundraisers instead, tailoring everything to what I can realistically manage.
I will focus on the initial period of World War II—specifically, the years 1939–1941. And although the title points to the German army, I also intend to focus on other armies, such as the Polish and Soviet ones.
What size campaigns do I envision? They range from a few to a couple of dozen miniatures. Ultimately, I want future armies to consist of 32–48 figures, plus some equipment, vehicles, and the like. So, I assume this can be achieved by creating 3–4 smaller campaigns instead of one large, time-consuming one.
But let’s get down to business—what are we starting with? First up are the officers and forward observers, as well as "Kradschützen"—the latter in a dismounted version. There is also the option to purchase a few motorcyclists, initially issued in 2024, at a reduced price.
They look like this:
Command Team. 8 miniatures, including several officers, a forward observer with a radio, 2 officers in combat poses and an officer on horseback—yes, indeed, early in the war, company commanders rode horses. The set will also include an officer in a motorcycle sidecar—for those who dig that vibe (just like me!).
Kradschützen in all their glory! A set of 8 miniatures of dismounted motorcyclists.
And their motorized version, available as an add-on.
Regarding model quality
I prepare them for resin printing. Personally, I use an older Anycubic 4K model, which is probably the lowest-end hardware I’d recommend for this. The print you see here—thanks to Jacob for the help—was produced on a 12K printer using the appropriate resin. It makes a huge difference!
Painted example!
Files
I tried to make the files as user friendly as possible - all the models have both supported and unsupported versions.
Last important thing is scale - I usually make my minis slighty bigger than usual (1:50) - so some people prefer printing them at 95% to fit other miniatures from well known producers. I compared my models with Victrix models—and for those, I suggest printing at 90% scale.
Please note: This project is for digital STL files for home 3D printing- not physical miniatures.
How the files will be distributed?
All backers will be given a link to my google drive folder.
Finally I would like to thank Julien Morand for bikes he did. I also have to mention Jacob Richards who made high quality testprint and photos. Id like to mention awesome Chris Hindmarsh who painted test figurine.
Editing during the campaign
The campaign has exceeded my expectations; therefore, once it reached 12,000 PLN, I decided to add a section for the machine gun crew—covering their movement and the process of selecting a firing position.
As the progress continues, I am announcing that upon reaching 24,000 PLN, the lads will find a solid position, set up their tripod, and lie in wait for the enemy /The set will be available to those who supported the project at the "complete set" level.
