As the days grow shorter and the nights stretch ever longer, old warnings begin to sound less like superstition.

Lanterns are left burning beside windows. Doors are locked before sunset. Children are told not to wander beyond the village paths, and even the bravest travelers think twice before crossing a graveyard beneath a moonless sky.

For this is the season when forgotten things stir.

Restless spirits return to familiar places, strange figures appear between the trees, ancient curses awaken, and creatures once dismissed as fireside stories begin to leave very real footprints in the mud. Haunted houses, abandoned chapels, cursed harvests, wandering dead, and nameless horrors all belong to the same whispered tradition: tales meant to frighten children... until one of them comes knocking at the door.

On nights like these, darkness does not simply hide what is waiting outside.

Sometimes, it invites it in.

Halloween Compendium Vol. 1 opens the door to a darker side of fantasy, bringing the folklore, monsters, superstitions, and eerie atmosphere of Halloween directly to your D&D 5e or 5.5e campaign.

Created for both players and Dungeon Masters, this volume introduces new character options and terrifying threats inspired by haunted nights, restless spirits, ancient curses, sinister traditions, and the creatures that emerge when the boundary between the living and the dead grows thin.

Sorcerer Subclass — Haunted Bloodline

Some bloodlines carry more than ancestry.

Sorcerers of the Haunted Bloodline are bound to a supernatural legacy marked by restless spirits, ancestral curses, or places where something terrible once happened. Ghostly presences follow in their wake, manifesting through their magic as whispers, apparitions, and powers drawn from the other side.

Cleric Subclass — Dominion of Greed

Clerics of the Dominion of Greed draw divine power from desire, possession, and the endless hunger for more. Gold, relics, secrets, and even souls can become objects of obsession, and these clerics know how to turn temptation itself into a weapon.

Whether they serve a god of avarice or embody the darker impulses hidden within mortal ambition, their faith transforms greed into both power and punishment.

Boss — The Pumpkin King

When the harvest ends and the fields are left empty beneath the autumn moon, something ancient awakens among the vines.

The Pumpkin King is a sinister lord of cursed harvests, burning lanterns, twisted roots, and creatures born from abandoned fields. Surrounded by unnatural fire and servants shaped from straw and vine, he turns the symbols of autumn into instruments of terror.

Defeating him means surviving a night when the harvest itself comes alive.

New Feats & Spells

The Compendium also includes 10 brand-new spells and 3 thematic feats, drawing inspiration from curses, spirits, haunted places, graveyards, sinister rituals, autumn folklore, and the many supernatural traditions associated with Halloween.

Whether you want to frighten your enemies, manipulate the forces of the night, protect yourself from unseen horrors, or embrace powers better left undisturbed, these new options are designed to give the entire Compendium a strong and recognizable Halloween identity while remaining fully compatible with D&D 5e & 5.5e.

Every milestone unlocked during the campaign expands the Compendium with brand-new content at no additional cost. As funding grows, the book becomes larger, richer, and filled with even more options for both players and Dungeon Masters. All unlocked Stretch Goals are included free for every backer.

Every volume in the Compendium series is designed with modularity in mind. Interior pages will not feature page numbers, allowing different thematic Compendiums to be printed and combined freely.

By simply leaving out the opening and closing pages dedicated to the cover, credits, and copyright information, you can print the gameplay content from each volume and gradually assemble all your Compendiums into one large, ever-growing collection.

Each new theme becomes another chapter in your personal Compendium.

For those who wish to go further, optional add-ons will be available to expand your experience beyond the core class.

These complementary materials include:

  • Additional classes from previous projects
  • One-shot adventures
  • A compendium of new races and sublcasses
  • The Poisoner’s Handbook

Each add-on is fully playable on its own, but together they form a broader archive of fantasy content, perfect for groups that want to explore the world of the best roleplay game.
