Handcrafted Cloud Glass Gemstone Dice

Hello everyone! In this Kickstarter campaign we'd like to present our Handcrafted Cloud Glass Gemstone Dice. With the funds raised in this campaign our goal is to create sets of dice with various colors and semi-transparent hues that resemble moon and sunbeams shining through the clouds and sky to give off a beautiful appearance. We want every dice to feel as though you are gazing into a miniature world’s expanse of sky where you can view the marvelous colors and cloud layers floating along through the different cycles and seasons of a year. The dice will be offered in a choice of engravings in silver or raised engravings to honor and appreciate the various, beautiful colors that fill up the sky! 

Our plan is to create 8 different sets of beautifully colored Cloud Glass gemstone dice that will leave a cloudy and dreamy, shining look with every turn. For this Kickstarter the goal is to represent the different beautiful colors of the sky and the two largest objects that hang with all of those colors, the sun and the moon. The dice will have a level of transparency within them to better reflect light, creating a variety of different experiences as if viewing the myriad type of scenes that you would find in all the seasons, times of day and weather. 

In this campaign we have decided to use two fonts, one to represent clouds during the day and the other during the night. Each dice will be carved with your choice of either a silver engraved font decorated with our custom sun-moon logo on the d20 or have a raised engraving font with the number 20 on the d20. First, we are using an elegant, sunny font for our silver engraved dice. This will allow the dice to maximize their cloudy effect while presenting a level of light reflection, as if the sun is shining through the glass.

Meanwhile, for our colorless raised engraving font option we are providing a more mysterious font for a hazy, stormy night look. Without any color in the raised engravings the beauty of the night sky will be allowed to shine through the engravings themselves.

If you choose the silver engraving you will receive dice with the elegant, sunny font and d20 will have the sun-moon logo. If you choose the raised engraving you will receive dice with the mysterious, hazy font and d20 will have the number 20. The silver engraving with the thinner font allows for ease of reading and will not cloud out the beauty of the dice, just like a bright sky where you can see the sun and moon clearly. The raised engraving with its thicker font will make the dice easier to read for the dimmed down, cloudy appearance, as if the sun and the moon are hidden behind the clouds yet are still shining through. In our creative process of making these dice, we found that these two combinations show the beauty of the gemstones and produce the most convenient and easily read version of the dice.
 

These dice will be hand carved and handmade so you may find slight variances on each side and at every angle. Unlike machine made dice the sides on our dice will not be set at precise angles nor will the colors, patterns, and shine be the same on any side. The Cloud Glass with mixed colors, hues and appearance will be unique because no mixed raw material color is exactly the same. This makes each die extremely special because no dice look alike! Each side will be smoothed, engraved, and then polished. We will be using laser engraving on each stone to etch in the numbers and symbols.

These dice have a stone like weight and density to them so we strongly suggest that one does not roll them on hard surfaces or throw them against game pieces and miniatures, as they may cause damage to other objects or to the dice themselves. Please use them on soft surfaces and roll them gently.

Pledge Rewards

Every set comes with two choices as represented in the photos below. Backers can choose between pledging for single d20s or full polyhedral sets. Dice sets are all one type of Cloud Glass and we will not be accepting custom engravings nor switching what we have decided to engrave on any set that we present here.

Aether Mist

Pale blue clouds shimmer with an ethereal green glow, like frost spreading across a window beneath an unfamiliar sky. Aether Mist evokes a cold, magical atmosphere where frozen clouds drift endlessly through the heavens, their icy colors preserved forever within glass.

Night Veil

Soft lavender clouds gather beneath layers of deep purple darkness, slowly swallowing the last traces of twilight. The shifting colors give Night Veil the feeling of peering through enchanted glass into a hidden midnight sky, where the clouds conceal things better left unseen.

Mystic Aurora

Emerald-green clouds drift beneath brilliant crimson streaks, creating the impression of an aurora suspended high above the world. Within the glass, the colors seem to glow from somewhere deep inside the clouds, as though a Mystic Aurora has captured a fleeting moment of enchanted northern skies.

Dream Shroud

A vast sapphire-blue sky stretches endlessly through layers of soft, dreamlike clouds. The rich blue tones give Dream Shroud an almost tranquil quality, like gazing through crystal at a distant heaven just before waking from a beautiful dream. It is calm, mysterious, and impossibly deep.

Void Whisper

Dark purple clouds gather around veins of deep crimson, forming a sky that seems to absorb rather than reflect the light around it. Void Whisper carries the unsettling beauty of an empty night sky, where the clouds drift silently across an endless darkness and the glass seems to hold a fragment of something far beyond the stars.

Wyrm Cloud

Emerald and sapphire clouds roll across the sky beneath flashes of warm golden-yellow light. Deep within the shifting clouds, there is almost the suggestion of something enormous moving through the heavens. Wyrm Cloud feels like the sky itself has become the lair of an ancient dragon, its colors glowing through enchanted glass.

Mana Haze

Warm golden-yellow, and soft pink clouds blend together beneath the glow of an enchanted sunrise. The colors seem almost liquid within the glass, creating the impression of magical energy diffusing through a morning sky. Mana Haze feels warm, mysterious, and faintly otherworldly, as though raw mana itself has become a colorful mist drifting across the heavens.

Spell Storm

Brilliant blue, violet, crimson, and golden-yellow clouds twist together in a chaotic celestial tempest. Each color seems to bleed into the next like magical energy exploding across the heavens, giving Spell Storm the appearance of a storm conjured by some immensely powerful spellcaster and trapped inside glass.

Shipping

The following chart contains all the shipping costs associated with this campaign. All of the shipping costs are automatically added to your pledge choice via Kickstarter's pledge calculator and will set the costs based on your location for you. The values below include the dice as well as package material total weight.

We ship via International Small Packet Air Mail services through Canada Post to deliver everyone's rewards as quickly, safely and as economically as possible. Canadians will receive regular or expedited parcels. If you live outside Canada and are concerned about tracking or the safety of your items arriving via post, please contact us through private messaging and we will arrange an alternative shipping plan for you with tracking. There will be additional charges for other options.
