For players seeking a deeper challenge, Champions Mode introduces a progressive movement system. The first move allows a player to move one triangle, the next two triangles, and so on up to seven triangles before repeating the sequence again.
This structure creates a constantly evolving strategic puzzle where players must think several turns ahead and predict their opponents’ plans.
Innovative “Printed Light” Technology
HETMAN is also a technological innovation. Developed in collaboration with a startup specializing in printed OLED lighting, the board can include a thin luminescent layer applied directly to gameboard. The OLED layer is produced using a printing process rather than traditional semiconductor manufacturing. A thin-film battery hidden inside the board powers the glowing surface, creating a striking visual experience.
Basic Game Information:
The Game Board
The board is divided into four territories, each with its own capital.
Each capital contains:
- 3 power triangles
- 6 neutral triangles
- In the center of the board there is a Teleportal
In Luminous Edition power triangles can be highlighted by pressing a button (or place a token in the Regular Edition).
Goal of the Game
The goal of the game is to defeat your opponents by annexing their capital.
A capital is annexed when a player occupies three power triangles .
When a player enters a power triangle, they highlight the annexed triangle by pressing the button (or place a token in the Regular Edition).
Team
Each player commands a team of 9 pieces:
- 1 Hetman
- 1 King
- 7 Knights
All pieces can move in any direction:
- diagonally
- horizontally
- vertically
Piece Abilities
Each type of piece has different powers:
Hetman - Eliminates enemy pieces anywhere on the entire board.
King - Eliminates enemy pieces only within his own territory.
Knight - Can eliminate only other Knights.
The Hetman and the King also can liberate captured power triangles.
This is done by turning off the highlighted triangle by pressing the button or taking back a token in the Regular Edition.
Teleportal
In the center of the board there is a special Teleportal
When a piece enters a colored triangle in the Teleportal, it is teleported to the capital.
After teleporting, the piece can:
- annex a power triangle
- liberate power triangle
- eliminate enemy pieces.
HETMAN Champions Mode
For experienced players, HETMAN Champions Mode offers a more demanding strategic challenge.
In this no dice version:
- the first move allows a player to move one triangle
- the next move two triangles
- then three, four, up to seven triangles
After reaching seven, the sequence starts again from one to seven.
This mechanic forces players to plan several moves ahead,
making the game more intellectually challenging and rewarding for strategic thinkers.
Who will take up the challenge and see if they're the better strategist and can beat the reigning champion in a one-to-seven match?
The next Hetman Championship will take place in April 2027.
