Hex Effect: The Shape-Building Treasure Game

What I've Created for You
Hex Effect is a shape-building treasure game where you and your opponent seek to outsmart each other though clever moves and strategic blocks. On each turn, you place one of your 48 trimonds (triangular tiles) in an effort to create triangles, diamonds, and Hex Effects (hexagons) and stop your opponent from doing the same. Clever players can score 8, 9, or 12 points in a single turn. And don't worry if you're behind. You can use Gem Swap to set up a big play and catch up! If you accumulate 90 points before your opponent, you win!

Where did this project come from?
As a creative, I've learned that some ideas emerge after hours of work while others materialize in seconds. On June 11, 2026, I was riding home from a doctor appointment and the idea for Hex Effect came into my mind with great clarity. When I got home, I went to work creating the prototype and we were play testing the game the next day. Over the past several months, I've made enhancements to incorporate play tester feedback and increase the accessibility of the game.
What’s my plan, and what’s my schedule?
Multiple game manufacturer's bid on this project and I have selected a preferred manufacturing partner. They have been provided the digital design files and are ready to move forward once the Kickstarter funds. Production is planned to take about six months with shipping taking up to two additional months. Here is the tentative timeline.
November 2026: Kickstarter funds
December 2026 - May 2027: Hex Effect in Production
June - July 2027: Shipping
August - October 2027: Games sent to backers
What’s my budget?
The Kickstarter funding minimum for the project is $10,000. The initial order size will range from 1000 units to 10,000 units depending upon the number of backers. The unit cost decreases as order size increases. The minimum production cost is forecasted to be about $17,000.
I've budgeted $30,000 for production, shipping, and delivery of 3000 games. Kickstarter funding will make up at least $10,000 of this total with the balance being covered by personal funds set aside to support this project.
Why do I care?
In a digital world, many of us feel disconnected. Fun and engaging games like Hex Effect help us reconnect with each other. And that is beautiful.
