Hunting Season: Three Monster Hunt 5e One-Shots

Welcome to our Kickstarter campaign! We're excited to bring you three thrilling D&D 5e one-shot adventures designed for both new and seasoned Dungeon Masters. Each adventure offers a unique experience, full of memorable encounters, immersive storytelling, and dynamic challenges that will keep your players on the edge of their seats. 

Descend into an ankheg’s burrow to find missing farmers. Scale Harrow Crag to hunt the wyvern attacking caravans and cattle. In Briarfen, follow a trail of shattered boats to a shambling mound’s drowned grove.

Each adventure fits a single session and includes lair battlemaps, creature stat blocks, and magic items your party can put to use during the hunt.

Here's a glimpse at the adventures you'll embark on:

Levels 2–4 | 3 hours
Four farmhands have vanished from Velkrith’s barley fields, leaving their tools beside fresh sinkholes. The party descends into the burrows of an ankheg that hunts by sensing footsteps. Drawing it toward a false trail could give the adventurers time to reach the survivors and bring them home.

Sky Stalker

Levels 5–7 | 4 hours
A wyvern has been attacking caravans and carrying off cattle along Caerford’s only mountain pass. With three days of grain left, the village hires the party to hunt it down. The trail leads from the wrecked wagons to Harrow Crag, where the hunters must face the wyvern on the narrow ledges of its roost.

Hunger of Briarfen

Levels 3–5 | 4 hours
At Dunlow’s ruined ferry, a livestock bell rings from a mass of reeds moving against the current. A shambling mound has learned to hunt these waters. The party can ambush it at the crossing, track it to a drowned grove, or reopen an old waterway to lure it away from the village.

Distribution

We partner with DriveThruRPG to deliver the digital and softcover editions of Hunting Season. We expect to send digital rewards in January 2027, with softcover ordering links to follow soon after.

With Hunting Season, we’ve built three standalone adventures around what makes each monster dangerous on its own ground. An ankheg can feel your footsteps through the soil.
