🎨 A painted world

Long ago, Inkiostria was a lifeless nightmare known as Dead Paper: a chaotic web of broken lines and hollow shapes, ravaged by monstrous beasts in a relentless fight for survival. Dominating its core stood the Heart of Ink—a towering, silent, and threatening mountain of coiled paper.

Until the impossible occurred. The Heart erupted in a burst of color and matter, forever reshaping Dead Paper. Arising from the eruption were the Six Great Painters, legendary beings who bound that primordial chaos to paint, mold, and bring to life the wondrous world of Inkiostria.

The successors of the Great Painters, created by Lian—who above all else wished to see life grow freely across Inkiostria—are called the Grafids. They were generated from the original pigment of the Great Painters; because of this, six distinct lineages exist, each boasting peculiar traits and unique abilities.

🎲 How to play

🖌️ You are a Painter

The inhabitants of Inkiostria are the Grafids: living illustrations gifted with free will. But you are no ordinary Grafid.

Within you flows the gift of painting, a direct legacy of the Six Great Painters. Armed with brush and palette, you can manipulate Magic Ink and bring whatever you can imagine to life. The world is your canvas: it's up to you to decide what to paint.

🐾 Loyal companions

«When Lian smiled for the final time upon his Sylvani children, his essence dissolved into pure light. In his place, only a floating spirit remained: the first Spruffle.»

Whether myth or true history, Spruffles stand as the living testament to Lian's goodness. Incorporeal and magical, these spirits forge a deep bond with the Grafids who master the art of painting, becoming irreplaceable allies throughout their lives.

💀 The black tide

...And then, the ink turned black.

Centuries after the disappearance of the Six Great Painters, the land was shaken by devastating tremors. Voltan scientists and Bastionary scholars sought answers deep within the bowels of Inkiostria, but time itself stood still when the Heart of Ink erupted a second time.

What poured forth was neither light nor hope, but a plague never seen before: ink as black as pitch, giving rise to color-devouring creatures... the Neromorphs.
