Story & World

The kingdom of the Isle of Legends rises from towering white sea cliffs. Its grand harbour is packed with tall ships bound toward uncharted waters. Old royal sailors spoke of the Shattered Archipelago — a chain of magical islands scattered across the endless azure ocean, sealed centuries ago by an ancient curse.

The curse is waking. Glowing tides rise at midnight, long-buried ruins shimmer with faint light, and storm spirits gather along abandoned sea lanes.

You are the Royal Expedition crew:

• The Royal Knight, sworn to defend the realm
• The Coastal Ranger, tracker of shorelines and hidden coves
• The Wandering Mage, keeper of forgotten sea magic
• The Lantern Witch, guide for lost travellers

Gameplay Overview

Isle of Legends: Winds of the Royal Expedition is a fully cooperative narrative adventure board game for 1–4 players. Every voyage creates a unique story shaped entirely by your choices.

Core Game Loop

1. Voyage Phase Navigate the Windsinger across a modular ocean map. Face calm waters, fog banks, whirlpools, magical storms, and roaming sea monsters.
2. Island Landing Phase Pick your anchorage. Explore ruins, fishing villages, volcanic caves, lighthouses, hidden coves, and sunken temples.
3. Hero Turn Phase Each hero holds a unique role: the Knight shields allies, the Ranger scouts ahead, the Mage summons ocean magic, the Lantern Witch reveals hidden paths, and the Fox Companion discovers clues.
4. Camp & Progression Phase Rest, upgrade gear, unlock talents, log your journey in the campaign journal, and carry your successes and wounds into future chapters.

Adventure Map: Shattered Archipelago

The Shattered Archipelago is your open-world voyage map. A scattered chain of cursed islands, sunken ruins, hidden coves and storm-shrouded reefs across the Azure Sea. Your ship, Windsinger, sails tile by tile across modular hex sea spaces. Every island you visit unlocks story branches, new quests, allies and dangerous encounters.

• Whitecliff Royal Harbour (Starting Port, Isle of Legends mainland)
• Mistveil Cove — home of the Sirens
• Volcanic Spire Island — ancient fire ruins
• The Sunken Temple Reef — flooded old kingdom ruins

Players choose their sailing route freely. The path you pick shapes which stories, enemies and rewards you discover. No two campaigns follow the same map journey.
