Jasp's Guide to Jewelcrafting is a complete 5E 2024 sourcebook that turns every gem your party finds into an upgrade.

Mine them. Cut them. Socket them into your weapons, armor, shields and rings, and watch ordinary gear turn magical.

Your guide is Jasp, an axolotian gemcutter from Xochicoatl who has spent her whole life at the bench. Her notes fill the margins of every chapter, and her Field Journal comes with the book.

And for the table: the Gem Monsters box, with three ready-to-run adventures, 12 high-detail resin miniatures, 3 double-sided battle maps and a crystal dice set.

Early Physical Backer Bonus (48H!)

Back any physical tier in the first 48 hours and we add two extras to your pledge, free:

⚈ Limited Crystal Dice Set

??????To the 900+of you who followed us before launch: this one is for you. Your bonus is waiting.

Stop Selling Your Gems

Every table knows the moment. The party cracks a chest, finds three amethysts and a topaz, and someone scribbles "gems: 950 gp" on the back of a character sheet. Next town, they get sold. Nobody remembers them again.

Jasp’s Guide keeps every gem in play, and every gem does something different in every socket.

⚈ A 10 gp obsidian in your armor: darkvision out to 60 feet.
⚈ A garnet in your longsword: an extra 1d6 fire damage, and crits on a 19 or 20.
⚈ A hematite in a hand mirror: once per long rest, throw a 1st-level spell straight back at its caster.
⚈ A jade in your heavy armor: your hit point maximum goes up by 10.
⚈ So many more different buffs and bonuses, all coming from the gems you were going to sell.

The sword your fighter picked up at level 1 can be the sword they swing at level 20.

For players: loot you keep, builds you plan around, gear with a story in every socket.
For GMs: a reward system that runs on the treasure you already hand out, with 28 gems ready to drop into any hoard.

How Socketing Works

Found something better? Unsocket the stone and move it to your new gear. Nothing goes to waste.

The Books

Two books. One craft. The Guide gives you the rules. The Field Journal gives you the world, the trade and three adventures to play it in.

Four Subclasses

The Jewelcrafter (Artificer). The master of the bench. Their Living Setting carries ten gems where everyone else stops at eight.

School of the Gembinder (Wizard). Spellwork set in stone.

The Appraiser (Rogue). One look tells them what a thing is worth, and what it is hiding.

The Facetblade (Fighter). Socketed steel, swung hard.

Feats and Spells

30+ feats for every kind of gem user, from Socket Adept (a ninth socket) to the epic Boon of the Living Lattice (twelve sockets on one character).

New spells built around stones, like Ask the Stone: hold a gem, ask it one question, and hear what it saw.

Magic Items and Legendary Gems

Every item comes with a crafting recipe, and most of the materials come from the monsters in the Field Journal adventures.

Then come the stones with names. The Last Blue, Motherstone, The Threecut and The Kept Promise are legendary gems with stories older than the kingdoms that fought over them. A named gem attunes through the item it sits in, and it never uses up one of your three attunement slots.

Your table will fight to keep some of them, and fight to get rid of others.

Compatible with Heliana's Guide to Monster Hunting

BANNER (new): Heliana's compatibility badge with mojibake logo

Every magic item in the Guide comes with a recipe built for Loot Tavern's Heliana's Guide to Monster Hunting. Already running Heliana's? Your harvesting table now feeds your gem sockets.

Jasp's Field Journal

BANNER (new): Field Journal spread (I dont think is needed)

The Guide gives you the rules. The Field Journal gives you the trade. Forty pages of Jasp's own notes, tools for the GM and a whole mining region to play in.

Part One: Jasp's Own Hand. Stones and their tempers, how to read a stone, gem forgery and fakes, superstitions and folklore.

Part Two: The GM's Workbench. Heists and hunts, gem hoards, people of the trade, and the stones that went missing and who wants them back.

Part Three: The Harrowlands. A gazetteer of five mining towns, Ost Harrow, Tarrowmere, Fell Barrow, Ashen Mara and Vael Khorath, and three full adventures.

 Gem Monsters Box

Thought gems only grow in veins? Think again. The Gem Monsters box puts the Harrowlands on your table, ready for game night.

⚈ 3 ready-to-run adventures, with Foundry VTT modules included
⚈ 12 high-detail resin miniatures of the gem monsters you hunt
⚈ 3 double-sided erasable battle maps, one for each adventure
⚈ 1 crystal dice set

Spiders with garnet backs. A basilisk that turns you to gem stone. Golems cut from obsidian and diamond. Paint them, fight them, then socket what they drop.

Pledge Levels

BANNER (new): Tier comparison chart (tiers across the top, items down the side, ticks in the grid)

Six gems. Six ways to back. Every tier climbs the same ladder Jasp uses at her bench.

BANNER (new): Lords of the Jungle box (box render with the Diamond tier gem)

Visit the jungle where Jasp learned her craft.

Before she ever cut a stone in the Harrowlands, Jasp grew up in Xochicoatl, the jungle home of the axolotians. Lords of the Jungle is our Aztec-inspired 5E world of jungle gods, ancient empires, dinosaurs and serpent cults, and it ships in the Diamond tier as a Game-Ready Box.

Backed by 600+ backers the first time round, now back for Jasp's campaign.

Stretch Goals

BANNER (new): Stretch goal track (one gem per goal, filling in as we unlock them)

Every goal we unlock goes into every pledge at that level, free.

1 STRETCH GOAL = 8 EXTRA GEMS

2 STRETCH GOAL = NEW SUBCLASS

3 STRETCH GOAL = VTT

4 STRERCH GOAL = STL CASE

Free Playtest PDF

Try the system before you pledge. Download the free playtest, socket a gem at your next session and see what your table does with it.

 Pledge Over Time

Want a bigger tier without paying it all at once? Kickstarter's Pledge Over Time splits your pledge into three equal, interest-free monthly payments. The first payment comes out only when the campaign ends successfully. It is available on pledges of € 120 or more: pick it at checkout.

ADDONS

Visit the jungle where Jasp grew up. Add the books, minis or the full Game-Ready Box from Lords of the Jungle, our Aztec-inspired 5E world of jungle gods, dinosaurs and axolotians. Every add-on fits any pledge.

CHANGE BANNERS TO CARDS AS COMBO / BOOKS AS COMBO . WE NEED A GAME READY BOX BANNER

WATCH IT IN PLAY

See the gem system live at the table with our good friends Roll For Dragons. Watch them mine, cut and socket their way through a real session, and see what happens when the dice decide a gem’s fate. Hit play and see your next upgrade.

Campaign Timeline

The Guide's six parts are drafted and all three Field Journal adventures are written. The books are well past the idea stage.

Shipping

Shipping is charged after the campaign, in the pledge manage. The table shows our current estimates by region.

Friendly shipping to the US, Canada, UK, EU, Australia and China.

VAT

To comply with EU and UK tax regulations, VAT will be charged after the campaign through the Pledge Manager.
The amount will be calculated based on your total pledge value plus shipping costs, according to the VAT rate applicable in your country (17%-25%).

US Tariffs

Currently, import tariffs on goods shipped from China to the United States are set at 30%, though these rates may change before physical fulfillment in 2026.
While we are actively working to minimize the impact of these tariffs and aim to absorb the additional costs whenever possible, Mojibake reserves the right to apply these charges to US backers in the Pledge Manager if necessary.

Digital fullfillment

Files will be delivered via the MyMiniFactory Pledge manager system:

MADE BY HUMAN HANDS

Every piece of art in Jasp’s Guide was made by a human artist.

Every one of them was sketched, inked and painted by hand. That covers the cover, Jasp herself, the subclass characters and every gem and magic item. It also covers the frames around the cards and the GM screen, and the battle maps for all three adventures. The images above show the work in progress: pencil first, then paint.

The miniatures in the Gem Monsters box were sculpted by Alessandro Di Cesare, founder of Mojibake Collectibles.

Art by: Andrea Butera, Benedetta Abbate, Gabriel Schmidt, Lorenzo Tamberi, Zaenyx Illustrator.

Terms and Conditions of Use

Please read carefully before joining the campaign!

Challenges

While we make every effort to ensure a high-quality product and stay on schedule, there is always a possibility of delays. Our team has extensive experience with crowdfunding and Kickstarter campaigns, and we’ve carefully planned out every stage of the production process. We’ve considered our capabilities, potential limitations, and all other relevant factors to deliver your pledges within the estimated timeframe. That said, given the complexity of this campaign and the wide variety products involved, unexpected delays may still occur. Should that happen, we will do everything we can to minimize the impact, find effective solutions, and keep you fully informed with honest and transparent updates.

BOOKS

The final book products may have minor differences compared to what is shown in the campaign, such as variations in page count, certain gaming features, colors, or graphic design elements. Any such adjustments will always be communicated transparently and will only be made if they improve the books, enhance the overall gaming experience, or meaningfully impact production and delivery timelines. Our top priority is to provide you with the highest quality books, both in terms of production and content.

MINIATURES

All miniatures will be delivered unpainted. This campaign includes two categories of miniature products:

-Physical Miniatures

-Digital STL Files: for backers who wish to 3D print their own miniatures at home or through a local 3D printing service.

It is the backers’ responsibility to carefully distinguish between these two categories in the pledge levels and select the option that best suits their needs.

Please note that the final miniatures may differ slightly from the rendered images shown in the campaign. We will do our best to keep these differences minimal, and in cases where adjustments are necessary, we will communicate them transparently, always prioritizing product quality and the overall success of the project.

All pre-production work, including support and optimization for the miniatures, has already been completed. We are now moving into mold creation, bringing us one step closer to delivering the best possible miniatures to you both in their physical form and as digital STL files.

DICE

All dice sets offered in this campaign are standard 7-piece sets, each containing a D4, D6, D8, D10, D10% (percentile), D12, and D20. We will not be offering individual dice outside of sets.

The dice images shown in the campaign are renders (photorealistic previews). While we will make every effort to match these as closely as possible, some variations in the final production dice may occur. We will keep you updated and share photos of physical samples as soon as they are available.

ADDITIONAL PRODUCT

All additional products featured in this campaign (such as handouts, card decks, and GM screens) may have slight differences compared to the visuals shown. We will do our best to keep these deviations minimal and only make adjustments when it is beneficial, whether to improve the product itself or to streamline production. Any such decisions will always be made with one goal in mind: ensuring the highest possible quality in both content and production value.

DELIVERY DATE

We share your desire to receive your pledge on time, and we have taken great care in planning to make that possible. However, as with any project of this scale, unexpected delays can still occur despite the best preparations. Based on our experience and production capacity, we are confident in meeting our delivery estimates.

We will keep you fully informed throughout the process with regular updates both in the project’s main comment section and through Kickstarter Updates.

DELIVERY ADDRESS

After the campaign ends, you will be asked to complete the Pledge Manager, where you will confirm your selected items and provide your shipping information. Please keep in mind that your pledge may ship earlier or later than the estimated delivery date.

To ensure successful delivery, provide a mailing address that will remain valid during the shipping period. For example, if you expect to move, consider using the address of a trusted friend or relative instead.

Please note that we cannot be held responsible for failed deliveries caused by incorrect or outdated addresses. In such cases, additional shipping costs may be required to resend your pledge.

UNDELIVERED ITEMS

The Mojibake Team cannot be held responsible for undelivered pledges resulting from backer-related issues (such as providing an invalid address, failing to claim a package before it was returned, or loss due to theft). That said, in such cases we will do our best to help you receive your pledge again, with only minimal additional costs to you.

REFUNDS

During the live Kickstarter campaign, you may cancel your pledge at any time without any charges. If the campaign is successfully funded, your credit card will be charged once the campaign ends. Shipping fees and any applicable taxes will be collected later through the Pledge Manager.

After the campaign concludes, the following refund policy applies:

-For the first two weeks after the campaign ends, all backers are eligible for a 65% refund of their pledge.

-After this two-week period, refunds will no longer be available.

Refunds will be issued via PayPal, so you will need to provide a valid PayPal account.

DAMAGED PRODUCTS

While we take every precaution to ensure that your pledge is packaged and shipped safely, there is always a small chance that items may arrive damaged during transit.

Should this happen, the Mojibake Team will carefully review each case on an individual basis.

If you receive a damaged product, please reach out to us at info@mojibakecollectibles.com as soon as possible.

Include several clear photos of the damaged item, along with any relevant details about the condition of the package when it arrived. This information will help us assess the situation quickly and accurately. Our goal is to make sure you receive the quality products you pledged for, so once we review your case, we will work with you to find the best possible solution.

By joining this Kickstarter campaign and purchasing this item, you legally accept this Agreement and agree to be bound by its provisions. If you do not accept or agree with these terms, please do not join the project and do not download any kind of content we provide. Thank you for understanding! :)

The Guide is drafted, the three adventures are written, and the art is in production.

RISKS AND CHALLENGES

The real risks sit in manufacturing and freight: resin miniatures, the Jewelcrafter's Case and shipping across six regions. We have run this process before with Lords of the Jungle, we work with Unicool manufacturer and Hive pledge manager, and we will post an update often with photos from every stage. If something slips, you hear it from us first.
